#qbdchallenge Day 5: A Dystopian Adventure Well most dystopian books don’t feel like an adventure due to the very nature of them, but this is categorised as post-apocalyptic dystopian fiction so I think it counts? Station Eleven tells the story of a travelling troupe of actors as they perform Shakespeare following a pandemic that destroys the world we know
#qbdchallenge Day 4: Favourite Author I am the absolute worst, I’m about 5 days behind on this challenge - I’ve been coming home late and spending my free time trying to plan a holiday and I just haven’t kept up But I want to catch up on it all this Sunday so expect an influx of posts! I struggled slightly with my favourite author, the author I get most excited about is J.K Rowling but I wanted to say someone different. So I thought about whose books I look forward to most and that’s probably Khaled Hosseni. I’ve read the three pictured and by far my favourite is A Thousand Splendid Suns. I read it in one sitting, not able to put it down before I knew what was going to happen to Laila and Mariam. Read it if you haven’t, it’s an absolute treasure.
#qbdchallenge Day 2: Favourite Book Villain I could have easily chosen Voldermort for this, but since my first post was Harry Potter, I’m going for Cersei Lannister from the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Cersei is a bitch, I’m not going to pretend she isn’t. She’s ruthless and manipulative but she’s also immensely complex. Her actions are driven by intense fear and an immense love for her children and she’s fighting for power in a world where women have little say. Also I’m super excited for season 6!
#qbdchallenge Day 1 (late): So I’ve decided to take part in the April #bookstagram challenge! Day 1 was your favourite series and like millions of other people it’s Harry Potter. It’s been 14 years since I first picked up a Harry Potter book and I’ve loved it ever since.
I completely forgot that Ruta Sepetys’ new book, Salt to the Sea, has been released! I read Between Shades of Gray a couple of years ago and I wasn’t able to put it down once.
