Water Mama means Mermaid in Guyana. People disappear from these creatures. No one has seen a water mama but can hear them making huge splashes. It turns out Water mamas are the Arapaima

Aim is the 23rd Duke of Hell. A commander of 26 legions, Aim takes the form of a man with 3 heads. The head of a man, cat and serpent. He will set cites aflame with his torch and can make people answer all questions honestly.

Morax is a Great Earl and President of Hell. A commander of 30 legions of demons, his main areas of expertise are Astronomy, liberal sciences and bestowing good familiars with knowledge of herbs and precious stones.
Typically he takes the form of a man with a bull head or bull with the head of a man

When it comes to “fan art” I have a strange habit of almost always going with the most obscure characters to depict. In keeping with tradition and with my last Spirited Away post, I give you the Radish Spirit. Wasn’t a major player and yet I still loved this big ol root.

Goetia Vepar: Vepar is a Great Duke of Hell. Ruling over 29 legions, he governs and controls all waters. If requested he can cause great storms and make ships appear. While gifted with the ability to heal wounds, he can also cause people to die in 3 days by purified sores.Vepar is depicted as a mermaid.
I went with a slightly more surrealist approach with this one. Not sure if I’m in love with it or not…what do you think?

Agares is the First Duke of the East and appears as a fair old man riding a crocodile while carrying a hawk. He is a teacher of languages, fetches back those who run away, and makes those who run stand still. He can overthrow supernatural and temporal dignities and can cause earthquakes. He is of the order of Virtues and oversees thirty-one legions.

Andras is a one of the Great Marquis of Hell. Having a command of thirty legions he sows discord among people. Andras was considered to be a highly dangerous demon, who could kill the conjuring magician and his assistants if precautions were not taken. Andras is depicted as an owl headed angel riding a black wolf.

In continuation, The Ars Goetia is the first section of the Lesser Key of Solomon, containing descriptions of seventy-two demons.
These are an eclectic bunch made up of demons/pre abrahamic faith deities in demon form.
Amdusias is commonly mistaken for Orobas do to his horse like nature, yet Amdusias is not merely a horse but a unicorn.
Duke and commander of 29 legions of spirits and demons Amdusias is largely associated with storms, his voice being heard amongst thunder. He is musically adept, and is commonly accompanied by trumpets and horns. He is the chief of the cacophonous melodies played in hell.
In the hierarchy of hell Baal is placed at the head being the 1st and primary king of hell. He also presides over the East, with 66 legions under his command. He gives the gift of invincibility to those who invoke him.
He typically appears as a 3 headed beast with the head go a man, cat and toad.

The next demon of the The Ars Goetia.
Naberius, also known as Cerberus, Nabbers or Nebiros.
He is the most valiant of the Marquis of Hell and has 19 legions under his command. He bestows cunning in all arts and sciences, especially in rhetoric. He also restores lost honors.
Nabbers typically appears as a three headed dog, raven or less so as a black crane. I tried to incorporate a little bit of each of the descriptions and came up with this bird Cerberus.

Shax is a Duke/High Marquis of Hell and the commander of 30 legions. Shax appears as a stork with a harsh voice. Quite deceitful even dangerous to an unskilled sorcerer, if not confined properly he will lie and not obey commands.
However if properly invoked he will steal whatever is requested by his commander, be it money, horses, sight, hearing even understanding. He also will speak truth on supernatural matters and reveal hidden treasures.

Buer is a Great President of Hell and the commander of 50 legions. Buer appears either as a centaur or more commonly a lion headed beast with multiple goat legs to walk in all directions. He is a teacher of natural and moral philosophy, logic and all virtues of plants and herbs.
I kept it pretty close to the Ars Goetia depiction because a flaming lion head with legs is pretty bizarre to begin with.

These are an eclectic bunch, made up of demons/pre abrahamic faith deities in demon form. Ever since I discovered it, years and years ago, I’ve been fascinated by it. One High Prince in particular I’ve been fond of is Stolas. How can you not love a crowned owl demon.
He is the commander of 26 legions and appears as a crowned owl or beautiful man. He is a teacher of astronomy and the magic associated with plants and precious stones.
I wanted to keep it relatively true to the description in the Ars Goetia but make it more than just an owl with a crown.

Happy Halloween has come and gone but here is the culmination of Pumpkin Patch Dragons I’ve done for the past couple of years.
*Typically it’s their enflamed throat pouches that give them their names, but this time around I went with something else. The Pumpkin King Drake displays it’s unique defense mechanism to not only tuck it’s entire body within itself, revealing a plethora unpalatable spines and a smile which glows back at potential predators and trick or treaters alike.
*The Jack O’ lantern drake, also known as the Pumpkin Patch Dragon,
gets it’s name from the striking pattern that adorns it’s inflated
vocal sac. This pattern can come in any number of different “facial
patterns” and is used both as a defense mechanism as well as to
attract females.While not a danger to adult humans, small children and pets can be easily taken down by adult females. These dragons possess quite the sweet tooth and have been known to sit amongst Halloween jack I lanterns to snatch unsuspecting trick or treater’s candy bags.*Far smaller than it’s larger cousin, the Jack O’ Lantern Drake, the
Candy Corn Dragon also utilizes the jack o lantern patten in it’s
vocal pouch, but for a different reason. Called Batesian mimicry the Candy Corn dragon uses it’s throat pouch to mimic it’s larger cousin as a way to intimidate and scare larger predators. Far less aggressive than the Jack O’ Lantern drake It’s first line of defense is to trick the potential threat giving it time to escape.*The Jack O'lantern Hydra possesses the striking pattern of its cousin the Jack O’ lantern drake but 7 fold. While it’s cousin posses one impressive vocal sac the Hydra has 7. 2 larger sacs flank either side of it’s head with 5 smaller sacs on it’s throat. When dilated and contracted the Jack O’ lantern hydra can create unique songs. These complex sounds are believed to be primarily used for sexual selection and communication, though song for enjoyment sake is not entirely out of the question. Though less likely to be seen in urban settings, unlike the Jack-o-lantern Drake, the Hydra also has a taste for sweets and are known to actively pursue trick-or-treaters for their candy.
*The Skull Face Drake is the smallest of the Jack-O-Lantern genus.
While most of this genus display their jack-o-lantern pattern’s via their inflated throat pouches, aside from the Pumpkin King Drake, the Skull Face must inflate it’s entire body to reveal the trademark smile.
Despite the impressive defense of a Jack-O-Lantern smile, the first line of defense is to be as in inconspicuous as possible. The Skull Face will release a foul odor, should provoked, and remain still to give the impression that it is a decomposing corpse. Should this not deter a predator it will then inflate as a last ditch effort.
