mythologyofthepoetandthemuse:

“Persephone”, “Hermes” by Vera Bousiou. A modern dialogue between the two gods that were often associated with matters of the soul. The two figures were drawn in a spontaneous way, emerging straight from the unconscious mind, the mystical cave or gate of imagination and creativity. Persephone, the fruitful and the uncanny, standing for the primordial female, all embracing, element, while Hermes representing the analytical, spiritual processes, the “animus” of the artist.

Choosing to set and enforce boundaries even and especially when it is difficult is an act of heroic

Choosing to set and enforce boundaries even and especially when it is difficult is an act of heroic self love. It is heroic self love to realize, vocalize and prioritize your needs because you know in your bones that your healing depends on it, that your soul is calling for it and your younger self is crying for it. To say, “No.” Despite the fear. Despite the malice of others. Despite the mockery, refusal, rejection, resentment, disregard, ignorance, anger, hostility and abandonment that will come to do battle with the brilliant light that is your knowledge of self worth. It is heroic self love to speak your mind, to draw the line, to put your foot down and risk standing alone and away from all that is familiar but that threatens your vitality as well, to surrender the socially preferred role of “agreeable person”, all for the simple fact that your sacred smile is worth it. When we stop expecting the healing journey to be easy we make room for the glorious moments of overcoming that remind us that we are our own heroes, we are the knights for whom we have fought the fatal sleep of despair. We heal when we give priority to our wellness. We heal when we draw the lines that create our safe spaces. We heal when we put doors on our sanctuaries.⁣⁣ And we heal when we see ourselves standing up for ourselves.⁣⁣⁣

Today I’d like to acknowledge everyone who has established boundaries for which they faced loss but which they enforced and maintained in the name of truth and healing.

Hi there, I am Sadey and I fight monsters.
It’s a family tradition that was started by my great grandfather.

My great grand father went on a quest to prove his worth to his father and in the end he killed so many monsters and won the attention he deserved.
The generations have shown that every member of my family has the same strength as the old coot and sure enough I’m just as strong as my old man.

My step dad insists that he is my dad, but I know my mom actually met my real biological father and made me. Yet I had to listen to that man’s rules and disappointment for years before I could move out and become the power house of a woman you see before you.

Now I know what you are thinking and yes, I am awesome.
I come from a long line of heroes and I’m not afraid to say that this little lady in front of you is gonna rock this world.

It was hard finding a worthy challenge, I traveled through forests and mountains for 3 years before a mountain lion found me. It wasn’t magical like my great grand pa, but it was dangerous. I fought and managed to kill it, the crunch as I finally snapped its neck will stay with me forever.

I had taken my first step into being a monster slayer, and just when I was about to go looking for a bear, I noticed some old man sitting on some rocks nearby watching me.
I demanded to know who he was, he just smiled and walked right up to me with his arms open wide. Naturally I didn’t trust him so I meant to punch him once in the chest, but he grabbed my hand as if I was a child and pulled me into a hug.

He told me how proud he was that his daughter was just as strong as her grandmother.
I knew that this was my real dad, Hector Jupitor.
I spent the next 2 years on that mountain training with my old man and learning how to hunt and identify evil creatures.

About 5 years of traveling and now I know that it’s time for me to stop wandering and time to start fighting evil under the guidance of someone who knows what they are doing.
So fear not people of Earth, a true hero stands here to save you all.

Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd————————————————If your opponent controls a monster and you contr

Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd
————————————————
If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 “Heroic” card from your Deck to your hand.
————————————————
Can Be Found In: World Superstars (WSUP-EN016)

Heroic is a combination of two archetypes into one to aim for a perfect Battle Phase arround stat boosts and Xyz Summon. The Main Deck involves the Heroic Challengers, working as support and materials for the Heroic Champions we can summon from our Extra Deck. With a strong early game and excellent support thanks to their Warrior-Type, Heroics can aim for an OTK even with a single Heroic Champion on our field.

“Heroic Challenger - Assault Halberd” is one of the most prevalent members inside and outside the archetype thanks to two excellent supporting abilities assisting us in any of our setups. If the opponent controls one or more monsters and we don’t, “Assault Halberd” can be Special Summoned from our hand. In battles “Assault Halberd” is able to deal piercing damage against defensive monsters, and by doing damage after any battle will let us obtain a Heroic card from our Deck in return. While the latter effect gives us access to the entire archetype, “Assault Halberd” is able to achieve strong results with its Special Summon and other monsters we can accompany its arrival with.

Combining Heroic and Warrior support, “Assault Halberd” is almost always available to be on the field when needed. The staple “Reinforcement of the Army” searches for any Level 4 and lower Warrior residing our Deck, letting “Assault Halberd” to show up in other Decks not so centric arround the archetype. Arround the Heroic cards we can work with, “Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades” is another recurring member as is able to summon “Assault Halberd” from inside our Deck if we have to. “Assault Halberd” itself is also another option to search its copies with, providing some backup in our hand in case our field is sweeped. Lastly, along with common revival effects “The Warrior Returning Alive” can obtain “Assault Halberd” from our Graveyard to use its summon effect afterwards and quickly setup any goals even in the worst situations.

Despite piercing damage and a searching effect that can look for important archetype cards like “Heroic Chance” and other copies of “Assault Halberd”, is its Special Summon that makes this monster one of the most important members Heroics can offer. Virtually assured from our the start of a Duel if the opponent went first, “Assault  Halberd” will be summoned by its effect to then be followed by other monsters afterwards. The majority of Heroic Challengers are Level 4, therefore arriving along “Assault Halberd” for their Xyz Summons. From the high OTK potential of “Heroic Champion - Excalibur” to aiming towards the several effects of “Number 86: Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad”, under the perfect opening hand the summon of “Assault Halberd” will follow with the archetype’s lead monsters or even Link Monsters to obtain additional Extra Deck summons. Heroic Challengers’ main condition for their Xyz Summon is Warrior-Type materials, but that won’t stop us from swarming the board with “Assault Halberd” and others. From “Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades” and “Goblindbergh” summoning other monsters, to “Blue Mountain Butterspy” and “Doggy Diver” answering our summons with their own, “Assault Halberd” will be our starting move to quickly prepare our Extra Deck summons with no difficulties.

While its assured damage along support from cards like “Heroic Chance” can make “Assault Halberd” a solid offense to search Heroic cards in return, is its simple Special Summon condition that makes its archetype gain incredible speed from our very first turn. With solid support along several other monsters with their own summoning abilities, “Assault Halberd” can follow the opponent’s turn with a solid number of monsters towards our Xyz or Link Summons. Obviously “Assault Halberd” shines the most the sooner becomes available during a Duel, as once we start running out of options it won’t become that much of a material and rely more on its attacks to slowly gather Heroic cards with. Yet, given the high OTK potential of lead monsters like “Heroic Champion - Excalibur” and the several Level 4 monsters it can work along with, “Assault Halberd” is an important choice for players aiming towards a quick victory.

Personal Rating: A

+ Special Summons itself if we don’t control monsters and the opponent does
+ Deals piercing damage
+Each time deals damage in battle will search a Heroic card in our Deck
+Strong early game support as material

- Its battle effects might rarely be used
-Will lose efficiency in later turns
