like yes it’s awkward and hesitant and honestly kinda weird but this was in so many ways both characters’ first kiss. and I’m so glad they let them have that, let this be an awkward first kiss. it would have been so easy to say that ed would be an experienced and passionate kisser, but that’s not what this is. it’s soft and cautious and a bit weirdly placed and ed doesn’t quite know where to put his hands. and maybe this is just me, but this felt like an homage to queer kids, or really queer people of any age, and that feeling of not knowing what your love is “supposed” to look like because media doesn’t show it but you know you feel it and you’re just trying figure out how to show it. this was their first kiss, the first time they kissed someone out of love and I just fucking love that they really did make it a first kiss. i’ll stop rambling now but yeah… this show is literally so healing and i’ve rarely felt so seen by another piece of media

There’s no record of Stede Bonnet taking an “act of grace”, though Blackbeard did for a single year, maybe less. There’s also no record of Stede Bonnet ever seeing his wife, Mary, again after he left her for piracy. In fact, he would die just two years after he left her. Not only that, but they actually had four children together, the first one dying in infancy (some even blame this for his supposed mental breakdown and choice to run away).
They’ve already taken so many liberties with this show. I’m sure that they’re not going to shy away from taking more! Don’t be discouraged by pesky facts. The directors aren’t
Oop! I’m hoping they use their liberties to make Ed fake his death like Stede does.
But all I’m saying is I’m submitting myself to the Kraken if either of them actually die in the series.
