We are so embarrassed that we haven’t shared the wonderful work of Liz Kruesi on the blog yet even though we’ve been carrying her designs at the #BOOTHtique for almost two years now!! Liz is a freelance science writer and jewelry maker on the side. We fell in love with her pieces back in 2017 at the Women in Astronomy IV meeting where she was sporting her solar system necklace.
Since then, she has created quite possibly one of the loveliest planetary collections. Her pieces feature beads reminiscent of each planet (and its moons) and each item comes with a cheat sheet describing the stones that represent each object. We started with her Jupiter and Saturn designs and they were so popular at the Division of Planetary Sciences Conference in 2018, that people were soon swapping them with each other so they could sport one of each planet. The fad soon took over the Neptune and Uranus designs as well. Now we just assume this will be the case and order both matching and mis-matching pairs from her. ;)

A quick post on my thoughts on having pluto in the 3rd house
I have pluto in the 3rd house and for me it is a very powerful placement for me. I won’t go into details with what pluto is aspected to in my chart but i will go into the possibilities one might have with this placement by going over what i have experienced with pluto in this house.
Pluto is Power, destruction, transformation, rebirth and all things dark and taboo. The 3rd house on the other hand rules the mind, communication, short trips, siblings, cousins, neighbours.
As a child i was very quiet but i always had many secrets, a love for the taboo and things a girl my age shouldn’t have been into as it would have been deemed too shocking, and i was aware of that. I loved to investigate and i was very good at it. Curiosity was like a secret mission and i would make sure nobody would ever find out what i was trying to learn.
I was very protective of my sister but we would always argue and fight and our relationship has never been stable.
Pluto in the 3rd house for me is not necessarily a positive placement, infact i believe wherever pluto is, there is dark but powerful energy. Pluto has caused me to go through a tremendous amount of mental changes, powerful and positive changes, but only by going through a lot of mental pain.
My words cut deep and i can sometimes come over as intimidating when communicating with others. My words can be very destructive to myself as well as others. My mind can scare me so much at times and i have suffered from mental health struggles in the past.
I also believe raw sexual energy lies here. I forgot to mention that relationships with teachers are also found in this house and for me i have always had a dark, secretive and sexualised relationship with some of my teachers, and also neighbours.
For me the most positive thing about this placement is the powerful transformation and immense healing you can recieve from taking short trips. I take short trips often, especially after going through a tough time and i always come back feeling like i’ve gone through some kind of powerful healing mentally.
The chart ruler of a natal chart, is the planet that is ruled by the ascendant. Since the ascendant is also associated with the soul’s purpose, the chart ruler is a very important planet, since it takes action for the ascendant and therefore rules the chart. So, where your chart ruler falls is quite important, and the same for aspects to it.

(for me personally, i tend to relate to traditional planets more, so definitely check that out too if your rising sign also happens to have a traditional ruler)

1st house/aries/aspect with mars: Your faith is in your own hands, and you are the person that can makes changes to your own life, you’re the leader. You’re quick and active in the way you approach life. You’re aware of yourself, but maybe a little too much sometimes. Try to not always be the fastest, taking things slow is okay too.
2nd house/taurus/aspect with venus: You value stability, comfort and security in life. You’re focused on your purpose and want to get there the ‘right way’, but remember that all ways are the right one, since it’s your life, mistakes happen. You might not always be motivated, but don’t let that influence your self image.
3rd house/gemini/aspect with mercury: Curiosity, knowledge and restlessness describe your soul’s purpose pretty good. You approach life quite active, but also very observing. Don’t forget to stay true to yourself in conversations, since your views on life can be quite versatile and easily influenced by others.
4th house/cancer/aspect with moon: This is a great indicator for a true homebody, even when your chart ruler is an active planet like mars. You like to build a safe place for yourself everywhere you go. You might also value animal lives a lot, or just other living things in general. With your chart ruler here, you are a very giving person, but don’t forgot yourself!
5th house/leo/aspect with sun: Your energy mainly goes to your hobbies, since this placement makes you very creative. You like expressing yourself and it motivates you to achieve your goals. You might also like to be pointed out or get complimented, but make sure you don’t rely on it, you are also good enough without that reassurance.
6th house/virgo/aspect with mercury: Your job and life goals can be on your mind quite a lot. Physical activities stimulate you, just like food/diets, since you can be quite body-aware and it helps you build confidence. You are a very helpful person and will do everything to help others, but please don’t forget yourself, you matter too.
7th house/libra/aspect with venus: Any kind of relationship and bonding with other people is very important for you. You can have a hard time figuring out what your goals and purpose are and might rely on others to figure it out. Build some confidence in the unknown to be more independent.
8th house/scorpio/aspect with pluto(/mars): You tend to always read the room, you can be private and sometimes even mysterious. The psychology of life really appeals to you, since you can feel very misunderstood yourself. You are self-aware, which you use to change and sometimes even transform yourself. You are likely to be drawn to the unknown.

You’re outgoing and a dreamer who is willing to travel and make new experiences, good and bad, to get to your goal.
