In my absence here on tumblr, I teamed up with Makeship to design my first plushy! Theres only a day left for crowdfunding, and I’d really appreciate any help to get her made!
Her name is Lapinette! Is she a bird, a rabbit, a little demon? Who knows!

I MADE A FOUR-METRE LONG SNAKE PUPPET.
Because when a friend comes to you and says: “hey, I need a giant snake puppet for a performance” of course you say yes.
The body is made from a velveteen and and a lycra, and “reinforced” with a muslin backing so it wouldn’t stretch poorly when stuffed. The lycra material was also used to back the eyes!
I used some foam to structure the head, and some thin plastic to give the inside of the mouth smooth flatness. The fangs were made from polymer clay bake, and painted with a clear lacquer to give them a bit of a shiny “wet look”. The tongue is a bit of pink suede.
Although I’ve made a bunch of monsters, they’ve all been made to be “photographic props” basically, and never meant for live action/puppetry. This is my first proper puppet!!!
Also,they’ll be using the snake for another performance coming up!

Time! To! Sew!! Like so many others, my productivity during Covid has suuucked. D: Hard to not hold it against myself given it feels like productivity should have *increased* given there’s literally been so many hours at home. BUT! Fortunately I know that’s not rational or fair. Aaaanyway, I’m working on a batch of twelve scorpions. :> Time to fix that productivity problem!!

I got a new toooy ;D Texas is quite unfortunately one of the states where you can’t vote by mail without an ‘excuse,’ and ‘might die of COVID-19’ is not an accepted reason. SO! For the first time, I'mma be working as poll worker, helping with in-person voting.
That might seem like an odd thing to bring up on a photo with a lightbox (and beautiful kitty!) buuut–I mention it since I'mma be hustling this next week to post a bunch of new/premade plushies to fill my shop with til Nov. 4, since I won’t have much time to sew but have boxes of already-made plush I’ve never even shared yet :> So stay tuned!
