redheadedteatotaler:

@beautiful-thensad-thensadder tagged me in this game. You can only watch 5 movies for the rest of your life. What are you watching?

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

Paul Reubens makes this entire movie! It’s worth watching just for this line, and the end credit “refuse to die” gag.

BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS

The very first song I ever learned by heart comes out of this movie. I was 4. It wasn’t “I Will Always Love You”.

CARRIE (THE ORIGINAL)

This is probably as “scary” as I can handle when it comes to horror movies. My ultimate fantasy cosplay comes from this one, and I love that it’s appropriate both at Halloween, and prom season.

SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT

Laugh if you want, I know most people think it’s ridiculous. My dad drove an 18 Wheeler til I was in junior high. As a result, I speak CB shorthand fluently.

WARGAMES (THE ORIGINAL)

“Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.”–This is the movie that launched my interest in both computers, and hacking.

What are your 5?

I am tired so this list might not be incredibly accurate but it gives you a good look at my subconscious so HERE WE GO (Didn’t have space for Grease but know I love that movie very much and this list would be edited if it was for real)

CHARADE - This movie is gold. I could watch it over and over again. Perfect mix of mystery, romance, drama, comedy, and scares. Plus Grant and Hepburn had KILLER chemistry.

image

PUSS IN BOOTS: This movie is an underrated MASTERPIECE and I will stand by that until my dying breath. It’s a true work of art. The characters and dynamics are so well done. It doesn’t feel like a cheap Shrek-spinnoff because it isn’t. This movie has so many gut-punch moments and I need all of you to see it.

image

THE SIMPSONS MOVIE - I saw this pretty recently but omg it was just so cute and so pure. If I could only watch five movies for the rest of my life I’d want this just so I can keep these little family, plus the ending is so sweet. Love.

ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN - This movie is SO close to my heart. I watched this so many times as a kid and adored (still do!) Manny and Ellie’s relationship. It’s one of the funniest of the movies, I practically have it memorized, and would run back in and save my dvd of it if my house was on fire.

image

LAST JEDI (or some SW rep in this list) I don’t care what the Angry Side of the fandom thinks. I love this movie. Reylo forever. Cinematic masterpiece. Terrific acting. Heartfelt moments. What else did you people WANT. What’s wrong with you.

AND THAT’S IT! Wait, I couldn’t fit any Muppet movies! Or Christmas films! wAIT THERE’S A REALLY CUTE HALLMARK MOVIE I NEED *gets dragged off stage kicking and screaming movie names*

MWAH GOODNIGHT EVERYBODY!

It’s a book on classic fairytales, and was turned out as a lovely project. Here’s a few of my favourite pieces.

stringbing:

Yesterday was my first time animating live for a school in the Philippines. I animated Puss in Boots, since this is a character I have spent almost a year working with at Dreamworks Animation (both feature and TV).

I decided to animate a take for them. I showed them how I figure out the acting, my thumbnails, first pass, breakdowns, tie downs and then in betweening. I could only finish the first part for them - and tying down the rest on my own time. It was challenging to talk about every step of my process, what I’m thinking about - and hopefully some useful notes I gave for further animation. I decided to summarize every important note I gave during that lecture. I’ll let you guys know if I could get a public version of that footage sometime.

cogentranting:

O’malley, Duchess, Marie, Toulouse, Berlioz– The Aristocats
Thomas O’malley is possibly the second coolest Disney animal and sings one of the most underrated Disney songs as his introduction. And he’s a classy guy who’s like “gonna help this nice lady and her kids get home, oh no I fell in love and I guess I’m a dad now”. That’s a cat OTP right there. Plus the kittens are a very realistic sibling portrayal.

Oliver–Oliver and Company
He’s so small and soft and his animation really manages to capture the liquidness of cats.

Milo–Milo and Otis
A good loyal friend. And he captures the spirit of those idiot cats who get themselves into trouble constantly.

Cat–Napoleon
She’s just this feral cat who went crazy and thinks that a golden retriever puppy is a mouse and desperately wants to kill him and I just respect her determination and the fact that this is a real character in a real movie that I still own on VHS.

Thomasina–The Three Lives of Thomasina
She’s classy and cultured and cares about her human, but is also strong and independent and doing her own thing. She also legitimately dies twice in this movie, has visions about cat heaven, and helps a nice witch lady fall in love with a veterinarian.

Jake–The Cat From Outer Space
Technically he’s not a cat (he’s an alien), but he’s still excellent. And he can move things with his mind and he hustles people in pool and stole his spaceship back from the American government, so get on his level.

Mochi–Big Hero Six
HAIRY BABY. He’s doing good work representing fat ridiculous house cats.

Fat Louie– The Princess Diaries 1 and 2
He’s royal and deserves respect.

Figaro–Pinocchio
Look how ridiculous he looks in this picture. Plus he’s OG, I have to include him.

Mittens–Bolt
She’s got the lovely mix of cat gracefulness and snarkiness.

Puss in Boots– Shrek franchise and Puss in Boots
Honestly, a pretty accurate depiction of what cat’s are like. Plus he has a sword and swords are cool.

Snowbell–Stuart Little 1 and 2
Poor guy is the family pet, but Stuart is considered a child? Injustice.

Tiger–An American Tail andFievel Goes West
Eventually he is worshiped as a god by a cult of mice and then he gets trained as sheriff/gunfighter. What a glo-up.

Tao–The Incredible Journey
He’s OG. The inspiration for Sassy in Homeward Bound. A literary classic.

Goose–Captain Marvel
Another cat that’s technically an alien, but she’s practically an Avenger and if she’d been around in Infinity War and Endgame we could have gotten through those movies with zero casualties on the side of the heroes.

Sassy–Homeward Bound 1 and 2
Sassy is the definite movie cat because no other movie cat captures the essence of cats as purely. The mix of the superiority complex, disinterestedness, snark, and need to look unperturbed in all circumstances, but the genuinely loving nature as well.

On Twitter I proposed a shrek spinoff called Dreamworks Knights where Artie decides to look for the holy grail but his crew consists of social outcasts, ne'er-do-wells and Lancelot (one of his bullies from Worcestershire) so it basically ends up being a kiddie version of Monty Python. One of the key themes was police reform since the Knights before Artie came in were majorly corrupt so at the end the system gets overhauled into the iconic Round Table and with actual former criminals and outcasts in power their focus is helping those like them. Which also ties back to the theme of Shrek 3.
