“But I couldn’t quite shake a sense of sadness, too, at the powerful impression that this young family, happy in themselves, is struggling to adapt to life in the spotlight. Can you cope with this, I asked Meghan at the end? I don’t know, her demeanour seemed to suggest, I just don’t know. We are, she said, taking it one day at a time.

As we lifted off for home, I found myself left with a single question: if they can’t cope with this; if it is, as she says, existing not living; what then?”

The closing of Tom Bradby’s article about the documentary and his time spent with Harry and Meghan.

This is my struggle here there is a one part of me that wants them to leave for their own wellbeing and feel that they truly do not need BRF because they can do even bigger things without being held back. The other part of me is saying they should stay because leaving would just give the hateful, jealous, racist, bigots what they want and you should never allowed idiots to have control over you or life.

Leaving tells these people that any time someone joins the family that isn’t apart of the status quo or excels/shine brighter than others they could just repeat what they are doing to Harry and Meghan so that they can get what they want.

I will say that not only do Harry and Meghan have to make some hard choices here but also The Queen and Charles need to ask themselves if they really want to leave the future of the monarchy in the hands of Will, Kate and Andrew. Now we don’t know how the long the Queen has and Charles may not have the longevity of either of his parents. I mean what if in the next five years The Queen, Philip, and Charles die, and Harry and Meghan have departed from the BRF. BRF would be dependent on two lazy brats and a pedophile. That doesn’t sound like good options to me. Then again that family deserves the absolute worst so Will, Kate, and Andrew would be karma.

The Queen truly could not give two fucks anymore. If that didn’t manifest in her inviting Andrew to things I’d be so here for it

“Since PP passed I feel like the the queen doesn’t care anymore, she’s just doing what she feels like doing. Abandoned Buckingham palace in favour of her much loved Windsor. She’s attending only events that she likes and she is dressing in whatever colour she prefers not following the theme. She’s also hanging around with whomever she prefers After all those years she deserves it” - Submitted by Anonymous

“I bet HM’s saying ‘fvck it. I’m queen imma do what i want’ especially since the death of prince Philip she would want to be able to do whatever she wants and focus more on being happy than bearing the responsibility of a monarch. I mean she’s probably aware she can’t outlive charles. Proud of her but worried for the monarchy” - Submitted by Anonymous

“Meghan’s complaints about ‘not being asked if she was ok’ is stupid like you’re in the public service field it’s not about you even if it is its not all the time. I highly doubt anyone has ever asked if the queen was ok but you dont see her complaining do you? I mean with her age and the history that she’s been through you pale in comparison” - Submitted by Anonymous

Like the word queen embodies her not the other way around. She has been alive for so long she is everything a queen, is physically too.” - Submitted by Anonymous

The Meghan Markle interview is a pair of millionaire nobles getting questioned by a billionaire in what I assume is the waiting room for paradise about their time with a monarchical dynisty and now people are discussing the rich tory propagandist who has just quit over a personal dispute with the millionaire super model. Screw them all I don’t care. Come the revolution.

To celebrate the Queen turning 89 years old we have picked out a selection of images of HRH at Buckingham Palace that capture some landmark moments from years gone by.

The Queen is set to become the longest ever reigning monarch in British history. On September 9 2015, she will pass the record set by her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria. Buckingham Palace has calculated that Queen Victoria reigned for 23,226 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes, taking into account 63 years, 15 leap days, additional months and days and the precise timings of her accession and death.

Queen Elizabeth II will enter the history books when she overtakes Victoria during September 9 2015. This takes into account 63 years plus 16 leap days, additional months and days and the timing of George VI’s death.

Platinum Jubilee Silk Scarf, Westminster Abbey Shop, 2022

Designed with artist Rory Hutton, to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

The coronation chair forms the centre of the scarf’s design, as the starting point of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. The martlets and oak leaves which originally decorated the coronation chair represent strength and nobility.

Surrounding the central motif are traditional symbols which are repeated throughout the architecture of Westminster Abbey - including the heraldic lion, the crown, the fleur-de-lis, the Tudor rose, the English rose, the Irish shamrock and the Scottish thistle. (No Welsh leek that I can see though!)
