Q: AND HOW WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH KIM SIA THIS WEEK?
The time spent with Sia had been nothing but a walk on rose petals, the two of them worked a whole lot better than she could ever have imagined. With her difficulties trusting in others she’s been pleasantly surprised and with time, should she pass to the next round, maybe Ryujin can say that she genuinely look forward to working with other people. “Sia unnie was amazing, she took good care of me throughout the time that we had together making sure that I rested well~ She’s not only a great vocalist but she’s also so caring and easy to work with, I was lucky to be paired with her this week.” She smiles, and heaves a breath. “But while I was lucky I hope that she won’t suffer from being paired with me, she has been by the top three two weeks in a row already so the pressure and expectations are high. I hope that our duo were satisfying.”
Q: WERE THERE ANY PERFORMANCES YOU DID OR DIDN’T LIKE?
“Ah… Was I the only one who saw HYEJOO’s transformation? The stare she get when she’s getting serious gives me the chills, it’s just too breathtaking. Not to mention the performance itself with HOHYEON, I wish that I could have been part of that myself.” Ryujin is biased, she definitely is because Olivia is her very best friend in the whole wide world; that doesn’t mean though, that she don’t meant what she say. Friendship aside, Ryujin believes that the other is underrated by far and that she deserve much more credit than she has received.
Q: IS THERE ANYONE YOU ARE CERTAIN WILL BE ELIMINATED TODAY?
The answer to this is fairly obvious to her but Ryujin decides against speaking up her mind. It was such a shame she thinks, that they made a mistake so big.
getting a chance at being the solo host live station is both a blessing and hard to accept at the same time. not because it’s a position that she doesn’t want - of course she does. sia wouldn’t have auditioned for the spop position if she didn’t. what makes her nervous is wondering whether or not she’ll be able to do as good a job at her role as aron did before being pulled from the lineup for his debut.
she wants to be. hosting live station is a blessing after a long year at kt, and sia wants to be able to show aron and the rest of samsung that they didn’t make a mistake putting her in the role. but it’s not like she can just ask aron for advice - things are still a little awkward between them, and he’s always busy with nsg now.
gray is different, though. he is like a blessing, a sight for sore eyes when she sees him. although he hosted a different show, she wonders if, maybe, he could offer some advice - for when she’s scared, or when she doesn’t know what to say. maybe he can reassure her that she’s actually a good replacement for aron now that he’s moving on to better things. cautiously, sia taps gray on the shoulder, biting the inside of her cheek as she does so. " gray oppa?“ she asks carefully, moving back so that she won’t seem too pushy. ” can i ask you about something?“

he feels a lot lighter since moving on from his s-pop mc position and handing it down to a younger trainee. sure, back then, when he had been introduced to this opportunity, gray had welcomed it with open arms, as it was like a rain shower after a year long drought. but even when the show had been fun and he thought he as one of the oldest trainees around was quite fitting to play a mom, things had gotten him thinking. during his soon to be four years of training under kt entertainment, this was one of the rare opportunities he had encountered and just a few weeks after becoming the show’s mom, he had been offered a spot in a boygroup line up. maybe gray had become paranoid after spending time trapped in the basement, but to him it felt like just simple exposure to the public before his debut because they failed to give him chances to shine before. gray wasn’t ungrateful. kt was the only company that had given him this chances after years of rejection, but he wanted to be more than a puppet placed wherever they needed him to be. he wanted to be a player himself, he wanted to be gray.
most people probably wouldn’t understand his mindset, which seemed complex and complicated. but to gray it was simple. if the paths that opened up to him didn’t felt right, didn’t felt like they were able to make him happy, he couldn’t take upon them. so he felt a lot better to be able to hand over the s-pop show to someone else. he was sure the second generation of mc’s would do a great job. maybe the viewers would be hesitant towards the new faces, but they wouldn’t be replacements. to gray, they would be more like part of a development process, trainees who would leave their colours and traces on the show just like the people before.
so, when sia who was one of the new hosts came up to him to ask him for advice, he kind of had a feeling what this was going to be about. smiling, he replied after turning around to her fully: “hello sia. sure, ask away! how can i help you?”

rksihyeon:given the fact that gray seems as if he’s been through a lot the past few months, between the struggles with nsg to leaving his show behind - sia’s not really sure if it’s a wise idea to approach the older man about her concerns. if he wanted to leave all this behind, maybe it would be better if she stayed quiet? would he get annoyed if she asked? just because he turns around to face her with a smile doesn’t mean that he knows what her approach was about. the last thing tha she wantns to do is to take away gray’s smile, mostly because she feels like it’s been rare for her to see.
they’ve worked together for a year now, and sia is fairly sure she’s only ever seen his brow knitted together as he frowns.
still, she hopes his mood is enough to save this conversation. sia really doesn’t want to kill gray’s mood. her smile is hesitant and she holds onto her notebooks a little tighter, bringing them flush against her body as she tries to think about how to word her question.
“ sorry. i really hope it’s not a bother!” she stumbles, wishing that she were smaller right now. she feels so large and out of place. “ but um .. well, i was wondering if .. we could talk about the mc positions .. i would ask aron, but he’s really busy and -” it’s awkward for her to find the end of that sentence. sometimes, she’s still not sure if talking to aron should be allowed. “ i just want to make sure that i’ll be doing a good job.” and that he won’t be upset that it’s me.
judging from the way sihyeon carried herself in front of gray as she was in search for the right words to phrase her question, she seemed a little hesistant. the older man wasn’t too sure why some of the younger trainees were awkward to talk to him since he didn’t see himself as too intimidating, but then again he wondered if there was some strange rumor going around about kt’s ahjussi. it was probably the age gap that made it harder for them to approach him about any kind of matter, but that was even more of a reason for him to show how harmless and friendly he actually was.
when she tells him how she hoped that he wouldn’t be bothered by her question, the older male shakes his head lightly. he was rarely the type of guy to get upset about anything at all, as long as the counterpart was polite and respectful about it. as she asks if it was possible to talk about the s-pop mc positions, he gives her another smile. it was just as he predicted and therefore no reason for him to feel bothered at all. “ah, yeah sure. go ahead.” contrary to the boys who were actually working on their debut, gray was pretty much free to do whatever he wanted, as long as he kept up with his training. “what’s the matter? are you nervous about mcing instead of aron?” gray asks, while gesturing towards a nearby bench for them to sit down for the length of their conversation.
as the first generation of s-pop trainee mcs, he couldn’t know how the follow-ups were feeling about that kind of matter, but he could imagine that some of them might feel burdened or frightened by the thought of doing a job as great as the person before them. “i guess it’s normal to be nervous at the beginning. but i am sure, you’ll do a great job. just do things like sihyeon would do. ”
