Every day at my house is a youkai party, but today I’m celebrating getting into Fanime! That was a stressful waiting game, but it is all over now. Also, in more life-changing news I have a new lease on life due to the children’s book conference I went to, but more on that later…
Seemingly ordinary women by day that undergo a frightening transformation during nightfall. Said to be the result of a curse for upsetting the gods; these beings stalk victims in the dark for the thrill.
if you hear high pitched giggling on a dark road, you’re likely hearing the laughter of rinko suzaki. she’s bakemono tono’s biggest prankster and never misses her mark, and is completely insatiable. one prank is just never enough! she has a tendency to laugh at other people’s misfortune when it’s inappropriate, or make jokes at bad times. she doesn’t seem to learn from her mistakes.
her favorite prank to play is on strangers who don’t know she’s a rokurokubi. she’ll start a conversation with her neck pulled in and slowly stretch it without acknowledging it. it always works best on humans.

Same deal as last post! I spent most of October doing two yokai related art challenges- yokaitober and Ayokaiaday. I forgot to mention that I made posts for both challenges on my website Cattype.net (not .com, remember that) and that I made elaborate header images for both of them. So I should probably post them here.

The background pattern for this and the Ayokaiaday post was made by taking a twitter bird I made for something else and copy/pasting it a bunch. Maybe I replacing the @ with a # would’ve been more apt but I worked hard enough on the actual posts, I didn’t want to spend too much time on the headers. Drawing a # was a smidge too far apparently.
