real-slytherin-headgirl:

Hey! So… with Merula and everything in Hogwarts mystery, I want to remind you guys that not every slytherin is a bully and in fact most of us, specially Snape are totally against it

Just a reminder, after all we already got a reputation and sometimes it can be quite troublesome

@mythiclesbians I usually would just ignore a comment like this, but I decided to take it as an opportunity to talk about this passage of the half-blood prince, which I have been planing for some time now, while exposing some important flaws at this comment, so without further adue, let’s begin

So, let’s see, the first thing missed here was that snape didn’t actually threaten Neville’s toad for no reason, but we’ll get to that later. Explaining better, he actually just gave it a shrinking potion, and eventually gave it an antidote before any irreparable damage was done. Not saying that there isn’t anything wrong with his actions, just explaining that his “threat” didn’t actually caused any solid damage

Now, as for no reason, bringing your toad to your potion class,a place full of dangerous substances, is completely irresponsible to say the least, and an action like that obviously deserved punishment (again, not justifying his actions, just explaining them), he could have just taken griffindor house points for example, but he didn’t. Why?

Because he has a personal grudge against Neville, after all, as stated many times in the books, Neville was terrible in potions class, and it is no secret that failure is not something appreciated in slytherin, and Snape as the head of the house is much included. Now, this next sentence is just a theory discussed by fans but another reason could be that if Neville had been the chosen one, the boy of the profecy, Lily could still be alive. So, making it simple, Snape profoundly dislikes him

This is a brief explanation of the situation used in the comment to define a whole character. It’s good to recall that it is really difficult to label someone in just one word, regardless of how much information you have on them.

Now, guys, just a reminder that “abuser” is a very strong word and shouldn’t be typed lightly, let along used to keep a negative stereotype. Slytherin may be cunning, but never, ever should be synthesized as “abusers”, and by defining Snape in that context the comment did exactly that

So, I also wrote this answer because it’s important for people to understand, because my post was exactly about this kind of thinking

Hope I could help to show a clearer image of my house, and if anyone is interested in discussing characters, please send me any message you want to, I’m always available, thanks for reading until here and sorry for the long post

Griffindor: hey Ray, what’s up?

Ravenclaw: nothing new, just doing today’s homework

Griffindor:so, I wanted to see if you would like to come to hogsmeade with me, but apparently you’re busy..

Ravenclaw: well actually, I…

Slytherin: - appears from behind a shelf- hogsmeade? Hell yeah, I’m in

Ravenclaw and griffindor: what?

Slytherin: I mean… hell yeah I’m in for fighting you….

Griffindor: what? What are you talking about? I didn’t even say anything about fighting

Slytherin: OF COURSE YOU DID!!!! I know how you love fighting, so I don’t judge you for coming at the best duelist at whole Hogwarts, well, lucky for you I’m up for a fight.

Griffindor: what are you even..

Slytherin:you two peasants will meet me at 14:00 in hogsmeade at the three broomsticks - turns around and storms out of the room-

Griffindor: whaaaaat just happened? We aren’t even supposed to use magic outside of the school… who would say duel in the middle of the pub!!

Ravenclaw: obviously

Griffindor: so why would..

Ravenclaw: since a duel isn’t an option, we will just have to hang out together, the 3 of us

Griffindor: Ow, I see…
