“Very Beautiful Redemption” is a documentary about nature of regret.
It will be my first full length project.
The documentary will follow the story of three people and their past misgivings. Throughout the project, it will be delving into concepts such as despair, wrong choices, sin, regret and catharsis.
The project will be released in September with two special screenings that will take place in Istanbul.
“If you cross the sea, you can switch continents, which is more than just a continent, it immediately changes colour and texture in every corner. You can find militant Muslims in narrow neighborhoods and weirdos in another. Everything is a blend, police are rough and dangerous, rapists walk free but that’s not even the first thing to fear around here.
The vile people, the most dark hearted humans, we got so much things to be frightened of, but what frightens them? The pyramid of savagery shifts everyday. You can imagine all the dark things possible, but there are always new shades every time you pass through the layers of veil called reality.
There are monsters among us, monsters that holy books wrote, there are creatures who are far more dangerous than what’s hiding beneath your bed.
We like to think there are people above us, people who are running things, people who are building colonization ships if shit hits the fan. But the truth is far more frightening.
There are no one up there, no one knows what to do.
Who has time for a little catharsis anymore?”
