It’s not you. You think. You’re pretty sure. You’ve never been so hungry before. Never been the kind of person to get mad, either. But now it feels like everything’s turning your stomach into knots, demanding - something.

You can remember things, too. Someone else’s name. Someone else’s body, built different from your own. You keep tripping over things, expecting your legs to be longer, your centre of gravity to be higher.

It’s not you. You don’t know who it is.

#1 - It always makes Person A’s day when PersonB is serving them at the coffee shop, they’re smiling the whole day

#2 - The coffee isn’t actually that great but Person A still visits this coffee shop because of the sweet barista

#4 - Person B notices that Person A hasn’t visited the coffee shop for a while, they’re beginning to worry

#1 - they have never been as fascinated by another person as by this one that seems to know their favourite book by heart (even better than they themself), their great frustration is only topped by their attraction to them

#2 - they discuss heatedly in class and their annoyance with the other’s reserve increases until it unloads in a steamy make out session in a dark corner of the library

#3 - they’re making lists trying to manifest that the other one is not a charming person, but they’re having a hard time

#4 - they’re beginning to see the other one in every novel/play they’re reading, sometimes as the villain and sometimes as the hidden hero

#5 - being competitors in all their classes, Person A is surprised when Person B asks them out to visit a museum/an exhibition together, it’s not a date, is it?

#6 - they’ve never exchanged a word but know exactly how the other did in which class and exam, it takes years for them to speak face to face and realise the other is actually a(n attractive) human being and not just a collector of superb grades

#1 - having to work on the same project and being forced to work together cooperatively

#2 - being specialists on the same field and having great admiration for the other’s work deep down (bonus points if they realise/admit it when they’re very drunk or similar)

#3 - being academic rivals but only knowing the other’s name not their face, they meet in a non-work-related setting like sports e.g. and get along quite well, until they find out who the other one really is…

#4 - Person A is mad at Person B for having the same success but ‘not having any work ethos at all’, B is not as hostile and tries to build up an amicable relationship

#5 - their interactions are only a competition of who knows more about the subject they’re both geniuses in, they grow to look forward to these competitions more and more until they even have an unhostile 'normal’ conversation

#6 - Person A seeks an academic rival as motivation to do better in their studies and Person B seems like an ideal candidate, B is quite irritated by the sudden competition, it takes quite a while to convince B that the rivalry is more of a compliment than anything else
