“Blood Magick” by me. Just a little something I knocked together. Inspired by a lot of the settings of the table top role-playing games I play, like Shadowrun, Liminal, Changeling: the Lost, Mage: the Awakening, and a few others.

For some reason, when I saw the Future prompt (Day 3) for @polyshipweek, I came up with a Final Fantasy XIV/Shadowrun 4th Edition crossover. Ishgard fits well into the role of Tír na nÓg in this fusion, only more isolationist. The High Houses are the families that hold control over much of their nominal democracy.

This particular crossover is more SR4-based than FFXIV-based, in that it’s basically SR4 but with the nations/world/people of FFXIV overlaid on it, so let me give a bit of context: The equivalent to Crash 2.0 (the 2064 crash in SR) is happening in this world. Ishgard’s closed matrix system was somehow sabotaged and opened to the rogue AI that caused the crash.

Tentative title: Shadows Over Ishgard

Summary: The matrix crash would have killed much of the population of Ishgard, if not for one decker who was willing to sacrifice everything.

Characters: Aymeric/Estinien/Haurchefant

If I keep going with this it’s going to turn into another long story. I just don’t know if I have the time for it. I might post about it on tumblr a few more times but I haven’t decided how much they’ll be in sequence.

I decided based on a suggestion from @wooferdill when I first hit 200 followers on Instagram (months ago, lol my life is a trainwreck) that I’d do a lil DTIYS because I think they’re fun. :)

There’s no deadline for this guy, and if you wanna join you don’t even have to draw things if you don’t want to, but if inspiration does happen to strike you please either tag so I can find it! I wanna share all y'all’s hard work!!

Also, for those who want to have some fun tidbits about who exactly this is:

-Everyone calls him “The Boy,” because literally no one knows his name. People he works with often have been known to call him by petnames, though.

- No one has ever heard his voice unfiltered. He speaks exclusively through a synthesizer or not at all.

- He’s a top tier hacker (probably) (better to not ask too many questions) that’s in high demand due to his skills and wide range of electronics related talents

- Despite being in relatively high demand by the criminal underworld, and having a reputation for getting the job done come hell or high water, he ALSO has a reputation for getting into massive amounts of trouble if he isn’t being babysat properly and its kind of a running joke that every time I draw him, he’s got a black eye.

- Also he has a collapsable knife. That’s not important to his character or anything I just think it’s cool as hell.

The Boy, as he’s called, has dark hair, which is cut fairly short on one side, but is kept shoulder-length everywhere else. His nose is bleeding and has likely been broken before, but he doesn’t seem to notice.

The Boy’s outfit consists of a cyberpunk-styled jumpsuit with a tall, thickly ribbed collar, and padded joints. His sleeves are rolled up to the elbow and he’s wearing black skin-tight gloves that disappear beneath his cuffs. There are a number of straps and buckles around his chest, waist, and thighs, similar to a military flight suit, as well as over his shoulders like a backpack, which are attached to a box shaped contraption with exposed wires connecting it to his earpiece. His boots are calf high and appear to have shin-guards built into them.

The illustration is mostly black and white, with light blue and navy spot colouring on the outfit , and red on the remote button. /EndID
