The last thing I touched was the first chapter of the Potion Con short story, so here you go:
Fortunately, Master Pearce chose to leave his workroom in that moment. His bent frame no longer filled the doorframe like it used to, but his watery gray eyes sliced through them all the same.
“What’s all this?” he barked, then waved the merchants towards the storage room. “Those go in the corner. Beake’s already cleared a space for them. Payment’s on the shelf.”
Grim and Banneker shrugged off his brusqueness and disappeared into the storeroom as instructed—but Sherry held her ground in front of the counter, next to Dawn.
“I’m buying the boy a pass to the convention,” she said, her beefy arms folded over her apron in a way that brooked no argument. “He’ll go at the end of the week.”
