Thinking about the angst of liking your best friend since childhood but losing your closeness as tragedy strikes you both.

She loses her sister and you lose your free will. You don’t talk as much anymore out of some sense to protect her, and she starts hanging out with another smart kid instead. It’s for the best.

You notice she’s crushing on the class bad girl (it’s so obvious!) and you hate it. So you want to hate her, but one adventure later, the bad girl comes around to being a good friend. Your first in so long. And it hurts so much more meeting back with your childhood friend only to talk about her.

They’re good people.

They deserve each other.

Unlike you, with your parasite.

……. and yet.

The next adventure comes. Your childhood friend was kidnapped! You go for the rescue, and get split up along the way. You find her. You’re alone.

And your parasite starts infecting her.

You struggle at first. You know the horrors it’s capable of. She’s a sweet and kind girl, she doesn’t deserve to become a monster!

But

The one in control suggests

You and her might be more than friends.

And it’s pushy about being together with her.

And… she’s not fighting back?

……

It’s wrong.

It’swrongbut

You’re not going to be alone anymore! You see her pain and it’s cathartic. She’s going through what you went through. She’s going to understand.

What could bring you closer than this mutual burden? What more could you ask for?

And when her smart friend comes along to ruin it.

There’s only one logical option.

……

She leaves you.

You feel cold.

You don’t see her for the rest of the adventure.

But you know she’s still under the same parasite’s control when she comes to save you last minute.

She’s still connected to you.

And that makes you so

Happy. For the first time in years.

You all ‘wake up.’ She’s still scared. She wants to believe it was all a nightmare.

You won’t let her.

You show her the watch

With a smile

And her hope is crushed.

She won’t be yours.

But she will be with you until the end of this sick game.

My two cents on the Deltarune Angel’s Heaven theory

Hunch based on the fact that:

1) In the Weird Route, when selling the ThornRing, Spamton addresses either Kris or Noelle as “Angel”

2) According to Ralsei’s prophecy, the heroes’ task, other than sealing the fountains, is to banish the Angel’s Heaven

3) Before his normal fight, Spamton describes “freedom” to Kris, approximatively, as “rising and staring right into Heaven” (and during most of that sentence he’s looking up and straight at the fourth wall)

4) He also says “Are you watching, Heaven?” at the end of his fight if his wires are cut (looking at the fourth wall, again)


My hypothesis is:

The Angel is Kris, Heaven is the Players’ influence on them (and any other character, if the Snowgrave route is chosen). “Angel’s Heaven” can be considered “banished” when one reaches the end of the game and has no more control over its events.

some misc otherwise ominous snowgrave drawings

kind of fucked up how kris has to watch all of this happen huh

so like…. no mercy au where instead of noelle being the one you use, its lancer instead???? idk if anyone else has done this. i call it the spades route :)

you have to choose the “no triple trucies” option and, instead of her joining your party anyways, she goes on ahead to the next room. this is where you start the run

going into the following room continues a normal route and she joins your party, but if you stay in the alley and go into your KEYS to select lancer, his card pops out and he appears confused for a moment because despite his various amounts of dialogue in the normal game, there are a few rooms where he doesnt have any new remarks about plot progression, so this could apply as an area where he wasn’t paying attention for the past few rooms.

choosing “we split up” would cause lancer to return to your items because he thinks it would be easier to look for them with just kris going on foot, which immediately abandons the route.

you backtrack after this like you would in the snowgrave route. it starts out a bit slow because it follows the same mechanic of defending until you have enough tp; instead of iceshock, lancer casts SPADETHRASH, which immediately turns the enemy into a statue like lancer and rouxls do in the normal route later on. this is like a parallel to being frozen solid in ice; the description upon interacting with the statues would be brief and similar to the normal description for the iced enemies, stating that they’re “petrified solid.”

that’s all im gonna put in this post because im making more drawings/edits/etc for this but yeas. tee hee
