LIVE

The solar eclipse from June 10, photographed from a fishing pier in Connecticut, USA!

A solar eclipse happens when the moon comes in between the sun and earth, partially (or fully) blocking the sun. This eclipse was annular, meaning that the moon didn’t fully block the sun- during the full phase it covered the middle but not the edges, creating a ‘ring of fire’ look to it!

Was anyone else able to catch it?

July happenings 2019✨

Overall July is a intense month, there is no way around it, we have the solar eclipse and lunar eclipse as well as Mercury and Chiron going retrograde. This month we may see things come up not expected, roads will take uncertain turns. Things will shift and transform. It’s a good time to stay grounded and embrace needed change. And focus on self care

July 1st-Mars moves into Leo: our actions pump up the volume and become more passionate, creative and fun.

July 2nd-Solar Eclipse in Cancer: new beginnings related to how we protect ourselves and nurture ourselves. Sensitivities are high.

July 3rd- Venus moves into Cancer: How we show love will become focused on emotional connections and the home. Wanting to feel safe and secure in love.

July 7th- Mercury in Leo goes retrograde: Mercury hi jinks arrive, prepare for communications to require explaining and to have back up plans for everything. Also mars will conjunct mercury, actions will come before words.

July 8th- Chiron goes retrograde, healing our wounds turns internal related to identity and who we are.

July 16th- Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn: intense full moon capable of much to do with power, healing and transformation.

July 19th: Retrograde Mercury moves back into Cancer: nostalgic memories could surface, a time to reflect, rethink.

July 23rd- Sun moves into Leo: the focus of the sun for the next month is on self expression, letting ourselves shine.

July 28th-Venus moves into Leo: how we show love is more extravagant and grand and romantic.

July 31st: Mercury goes direct. Hooray we start to iron out the kinks and move forward

Just two months from now, the moon will completely block the sun’s face, treating part of the US to a total solar eclipse.

Everyone in North America will have the chance to see an eclipse of some kind if skies are clear. Anyone within a 70-mile-wide swath of land — called the path of totality — that stretches from Oregon to South Carolina will have the chance to see a total eclipse.

image

Throughout the rest of the continent, including all 50 United States — and even in parts of South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia — the moon will partially obscure the sun, creating a partial eclipse.

An eclipse is one of nature’s most awesome sights, but safety comes first! When any part of the sun’s surface is exposed, use proper eclipse glasses (not sunglasses) or an indirect viewing method, like a pinhole projector. In the path of totality, it’s safe to look directly at the eclipse ONLY during the brief moments of totality.

image

During a solar eclipse, the moon passes between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow down on Earth’s surface. We’ve been studying the moon with NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, and its precise mapping helped NASA build the most accurate eclipse map to date.

image

During a total solar eclipse, the moon blocks out the sun’s bright face, revealing the otherwise hidden solar atmosphere, called the corona. The corona is one of the sun’s most interesting regions — key to understanding the root of space weather events that shape Earth’s space environment, and mysteries such as why the sun’s atmosphere is so much hotter than its surface far below.

image

This is the first time in nearly 100 years that a solar eclipse has crossed the United States from coast to coast. We’re taking advantage of this long eclipse path by collecting data that’s not usually accessible — including studying the solar corona, testing new corona-observing instruments, and tracking how our planet’s atmosphere, plants, and animals respond to the sudden loss of light and heat from the sun.

We’ll be studying the eclipse from the ground, from airplanes, with research balloons, and of course, from space.

Three of our sun-watchers — the Solar Dynamics Observatory,IRIS, and Hinode, a joint mission led by JAXA — will see a partial eclipse from space. Several of our Earth-observing satellites will use the eclipse to study Earth under uncommon conditions. For example, both TerraandDSCOVR, a joint mission led by NOAA, will capture images of the moon’s shadow from space. Our Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will also turn its instruments to face Earth and attempt to track the moon’s shadow as it moves across the planet.

There’s just two months to go until August 21, so make your plans now for the big day! No matter where you are, you can follow the eclipse as it crosses the country with live footage from NASA TV.

If you don’t have the correct solar filters, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SHOOT THE ECLIPSE WITH A DIGITAL CAMERA. You will destroy your sensor. The amount of light and radiation being focused on it during the eclipse will at the least wreck it electronically, and if you’re using a telephoto lens, it will actively burn a hole in your camera.

These guys did a test using an old Canon Rebel XT and a 400mm lens, and it burned the camera after a 6 second exposure. (For those of you asking why anyone would ever take that long of an exposure for the sun, consider two things: one is that many people have neutral density filters that block light and require a long exposure time, and that Live View on digital cameras requires the sensor to be exposed.)

If you’re going to view the eclipse and you don’t have the right filters, save yourself the hassle and don’t bother trying to take any photographs of it. Camera companies have already gone on record saying that they WILL NOT cover or repair any damage from the eclipse. You fry, you buy.

The filters you will need are specifically labled as Solar Filters, and if you haven’t already purchased them, then unfortunately you’re pretty much out of luck. They’re sold out and backordered everywhere, and chances are EXTRAORDINARILY slim that you’ll be able to find anything before tomorrow.

The only other acceptable option is Welding Glass; specifically, Welding Glass #14. That has the density and protection to act as a solar filter, but again, finding any before tomorrow is likely to be difficult at best.

Stay safe out there!

all became dark and the birds stopped singing (solar eclipse 2017) - Champoeg State Park, OR

solar eclipse

Be your nature, grow, stay in the center,

walk in your inner garden,

as you’re a queen,

right here, human being,

and there is a beauty, a joy, always found again,

just in your hands, in the snow falling on herbs,

in stones and cats,

sitting on the porch,

stand on the ground, fulfill,

cast a spell of abundance,

be a power, be a joy,

an understanding

and

in the falling snow of

solar eclipse

blue roses bloom.

This Solar eclipse in Sagittarius with all its strong, rebellious energies of a new beginning is a time:

*to re-examine your beliefs to see how much they are conditioned by society and how much do they express your personal truth,

*to understand your healing journey as a synonym to your spiritual journey, reconnecting with your demons and shadows,

*to set intentions for a big future and light a candle of your unique gifts,

so you’ll come out from this dark time into a new circle, new era as a spiritual warrior, mature and attuned to your own faith.

***

Let this 7-cards tarot spread to help you at this time of huge transit, in the moment when the gateway is open.

1 - Examining your orientation to life - how do you see life?

2 - Where were you conditioned by society, tradition, spiritual teachers etc.?

3 - What are your inner demons, you should face before stepping in a new circle?

4 - What should you become aware of to look at life as it is, not creating fantasies and escape patterns?

5 - How can you put into form new paradigm of life?

6 - How can you attune to your highest purpose? What qualities and talents are in play?

7 - How can you start a revolution in your own healing journey?

Solar eclipse is coming on December 14, followed by Saturn and Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius and winter solstice.

Intensive. Revealing time. Play of light and shadow.

Just several things to remember these days:

***It’s a gateway, time for quantum leap, big shift leading us to a new era, a new circle. It can be chaotic, dramatic, difficult to handle.

Control is lost, you’re standing in the beginning of a mysterious path (is it a path really? or is it an abyss?). Let the cosmos show you, lead you, support you. Surrender in the dance of light and shadow.

***Reflect, re-experience, heal. A lot of thinking, bright glimpses of awareness. You’re reaching the moment to understand your past experience, years, circles, you’re coming back to see what is blocking your connection with the source, your higher self. Past traumas, generations of abuse are coming to the surface.

It’s time to become aware, to accept and let go. Time to heal as you can’t move further with this burden.

***Your highest purpose. Cosmos is opening, with all its stars, cosmic pathways, light to let you reconnect with your highest purpose, your uniqueness. To leave behind what is not yours, the result of your fear, society expectations.

***It’s not a quick laundry, a mark in your diary opposite «solar eclipse», done. The road is branching from this place and time, it’s all about your intention, your choice. Wild unknown path.

Dream big, set your intention, tell the cosmos what you wish for your life, our planet would be in the next era, light a fire in your heart and let the universe know that you’re ready for the leap.

Satellites capture historic images of 2019 Solar Eclipse.

Visible to Earthlings only along a narrow band of Chile and Argentina, Earth’s first total solar eclipse since 2017 crossed the Southern hemisphere Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019. Satellites orbiting both the Earth and Moon captured historic, never-before-seen images of the eclipse from their unique space-based vantage points.

NOAA’s GOES-West satellite, orbiting 24,000 miles above the Equator, captured the shadow of the Moon racing eastwards towards Chile and Argentina, while the Category 5 Hurricane Barbara can be seen to the north.

A quarter of a million miles further away, China’s DSLWP-B satellite captured the Moon’s shadow on a rising Earth while the limb of the Moon itself was visible in the foreground. This is the first time that an eclipse’s shadow has been visible on Earth while the Moon itself is in the same photo.

The illuminated western hemisphere is clearly visible, with the Southern Pacific and South America visible near the Moon’s shadow. A portion of North America and the Florida peninsula is visible among clouds in the northern hemisphere.

Exactly one month from today, a total solar eclipse will sweep across America, casting millions of people into temporary darkness. It will be the biggest astronomical event America has seen in years.  One astronomer has said it will be the “most photographed, most shared, most tweeted event in human history.”

This combination photograph shows the beginning to the end (reading each row left to right, starting with the top one) of a total solar eclipse as seen from the beach of Ternate Island, Indonesia, on March 9, 2016. (Reuters)

The eclipse will occur across the continental United States on Aug. 21. The 70-mile-wide, 3,000-mile-long swath that lies directly in the shadow of the moon is called “the path of totality.” For this eclipse, it will start off the coast of Oregon and sweep across the country to South Carolina. Here’s the path it’s expected to follow:
