You’ve met our team of organizers in our recent mod feature posts (or if you missed those, learn more about the team at: https://www.reforgedzine.com/mod-team/).
What makes us think we can pull this off, though? Among the mods, we have a combined experience that includes running fandom events like exchanges, bangs, and bingos, working on collaborations, self-publishing comics or anthologies of art and writing, printing merch and print media, setting print files, building websites and e-commerce shops, and tons of experience organizing teams and projects.
Our collective skills and experience should carry us through this zine, but we are also excited to learn new things, and our excitement for having a Winteriron zine come to fruition will inspire us to conquer the inevitable challenges we will face!

Come and join our Winteriron Zine! We are still looking for all kinds of contributors, the applications are open until April 30. You do not have to create anything new for the application. The acceptance emails will be sent around May 15, and after that the creation period will last until the end of october.
Aside from the zine a good number of people also expressed interest in buying merch to go along with the zine. Your top picks for merch were stickers, prints, bookmarks, buttons/pins, enamel pins and acrylic charms.

Hoarder of ships and hobbies.
I write, craft, make art and moodboards, love reccing fics and joining and volunteering for new events. I love to create a community in the fannish spaces I am in.
Why do you love WinterIron? I saw one comic panel with Tony fixing Bucky’s arm and never looked back. I love the potential for angst and exploring trauma and the boys helping each other heal.
Why should people join the zine? I think people should join the zine because it’s a fun opportunity to create something with other Winteriron fans and get to hold those amazing creations physically. This fandom is full of talent and I think sharing that talent with each other would be super exciting!

I make things sometimes.
Most of my time is spent writing multi-fandom things, but I dabble in digital art on occasion whenever I’m not helping to mod creator events across fandom!
Why do you love WinterIron? Tony Stark and Bucky Barnes are both unironically my comfort characters, but I didn’t fall in love with the WinterIron ship specifically until after watching CA:CW and reading all of the fix-it fics. Their relationship in any varied universe is so nuanced that I thoroughly enjoy playing around in that sandbox.
Why should people join the zine? We not only put our blood, sweat, and tears into the fanworks that we make but we also infuse them with so much love and joy. Having a physical zine is one of many amazing ways to really make that effort tangible.

Why do you love WinterIron? I’ve always been drawn to characters that are a bit broken and trying to do their best despite things. Between comics and MCU I just love the potential the two have together.
Why should people join the zine?: Working with others to make something is always an amazing experience. Definitely recommend giving it a shot to share love for our boys.

Why do you love WinterIron? Love pretty boys with lots of trauma falling in love with each other! Hurt/comfort is my most favourite thing and they both embody h/c from head to toe.

MassiveSpaceWren Night birb who screams a lot (often about Marvel) and does art – sometimes simultaneously.

Why do you love WinterIron? I’ve loved Tony since I saw Iron Man 1 - it’s been almost a decade now! At first I went through different ships, and then got stuck on WinterIron when I read the Imaginetonyandbucky blog and read comics with Bucky and Tony working together, there was so much potential! They are very similar in how they go about things, both have some trauma they can recover from and help each other with - also, who doesn’t love it when Tony repairs Bucky’s metal arm?

After our Interest Check, we decided to name our Zine “Reforged” - both Bucky and Tony have been close to breaking and had to reinvent themselves, and ended up with more metal in their body than before.
In the Interest Check, the majority wanted no theme, so the zine WON’T have a theme - that means contributors are pretty free in choosing what they would like to create. Any canon universe, or AU! Can you make a comic set in MCU or Avengers Academy? Go for it! An illustration of something inspired by 616? Sure! A wing AU? A historical AU? Also fits! Canon divergent after CW? Canon divergent after 1970, or even 1940? Bring it on!
After years of chasing a gang of outlaws, Bucky and Steve decide to kidnap one Anthony “The Iron Man” Stark to force him to help them end the gang’s reign of terror. But as captives go, Stark is not what Bucky expected, nor is his reaction to him…

“Are you sure that’s him?” Bucky asked, and instead of answering Steve passed the binoculars over for Bucky to take a look for himself. As he looked through the lenses, he had to say that the guy certainly matched the description they’d been given, based on what he could tell from this far away. He couldn’t see if the man had dark hair and eyes because of his broad-brimmed hat, but he had the dark gold and auburn barred wings and fancy embroidered vest they’d been told to look for as well as the smart little black and white paint that had been described by the witnesses.
“If it’s not, the worst thing we’ll have to do is apologize,“ Steve said. “He’ll be in position in a few minutes, so get ready.” Handing the binoculars back, Bucky wormed his way away from the cliff edge and made his way carefully to the far end of the butte they were on. The plan was that Steve would take off from the south end of the butte and Bucky from the north, with the intention to trap the man between them, hopefully pinning him down before he had a chance to take flight. It wasn’t a complex plan, but they figured it didn’t have to be; from what they’d heard he was just a slick-winged greenhorn from back east that liked to talk, drink, and gamble, in that order. Steve and Bucky had just spent three years fighting Johnny Reb and two more tracking down outlaws, so this man wasn’t going to be a problem. If he was smart, he’d tell them what they wanted to know about his employers then he could go on his merry way without even dirtying up that expensive vest he was wearing.
Bucky peeked over the edge of the cliff to check the man’s position, and as the man’s horse ambled into the ambush point he launched himself off the cliff, spreading his wings out to glide as silently as possible down to the road below. “Stop right there,” he shouted when he was close enough. “We have you surrounded.”

@ladydarkphoenix-blog and I have been talking again, about an AU where in the Wastelands (Old Man Logan and co), where Tony survived and has amnesia. Or maybe one with an AI tony. Or maybe a different reason? So after a bunch of talking and some hyping… we also ended at an AU where: Tony survived, was hurt, has amnesia, and because he doesn’t remember anything, can’t use his usual skills. So now he runs a bakery, and if he sometimes kneads patterns into the dough that he can’t quite remember, no one has to know… (and Bucky will survive and find him and they can be happy together.)

I finished this 616 Bucky/Tony artwork for the @what2finish charity auction! I hope you like the results Ru! Usually Tony has to fix Bucky’s arm if he got in trouble on a mission, but sometimes, Bucky can return the favour and fix Tony up when he’s hurt.
