Encanto Details

Oh my God! So, we got new details about the characters in Encanto and I am very excited to talk about it.

First of all, the character’s names’ changed so it’ll be a little different from last time.

Here is the family tree.

Up at the top is Mirabel’s Abuela and another man that isn’t listed. Below that, are Mirabel’s parents, aunt, and uncle. Pepa is the woman in the yellow dress who is confirmed to have weather powers. The man next to her is Félix, her husband (I was right!). Mirabel’s parents, Julieta and Agustín are beside them.

Mirabel is the youngest of her sisters with her older sister, Isabela(the one who makes flowers), and Luisa (the buff one). Isabela is supposed to be something of an antagonist since she’s the opposite of Mirabel. The children of Pepa and Félix are Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio. Dolores is the woman with the red bow. Camilo is the person who can shapeshift. And Antonio is the boy who can talk to animals. Antonio is kind of like Mirabel’s little brother even though they’re cousins.

Mirabel is voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress, Stephanie Beatriz. Isabela is voiced by Orange Is the New Black actress, Diane Guerrerro. Luisa is voiced by Feast of the Seven Fishes actress, Jessica Darrow. Pepa is the Narcosactress, Carolina Gaitán and Félix is voiced by singer, Mauro Castillo. Dolores is voiced by singer-actress, Adassa. Camilo, Marvel’s Runaways actor, Rhenzy Feliz. Antonio, #BlackAF actor, Ravi-Cabot Conyers. Mirabel’s parents are voiced by Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama.

An analysis on the Encanto poster - part five

I’m doing the last one for Mirabel since there’s a lot to discuss.

These three images show these yellow butterflies around Mirabel. I don’t know what they’re supposed to mean but I’m guessing it’s important. According to disinsider, “She uses her humor to cover up struggles with her self-worth. She is a true comedienne, akin to Lucille Ball. Mariana will also be the narrator of the film.” I can definitely see her laugh-it-off behavior in the trailer. It seems that she tries to reassure herself with jokes and the “you’re just as special as everyone else” mentality.

It seems that Mirabel is in charge of entertaining the kids. Or maybe not just the kids but that’s all we see in the trailer. Maybe because she has no “gift”, she isn’t able to do the things her family is in charge of doing. I also want to point out the bi flag on her dress. May be an easter egg since she’s voiced by Stephanie Beatriz but who knows?

It looks like she designed the dress herself. Like she took a bunch of designs, threw it together, and thought it looks cute? I mean, it does. She’s also carrying a bag. I have no idea what it’s for.

I want to point out her glasses since she is the first human female Disney character to have glasses. They’re green and shape around her face in a cute way. She’s also wearing blue earrings. I think she probably dresses artistically to express herself in a normal, human, way.
