Why is the book more expensive now than it was during the Kickstarter?
The more expensive Kickstarter tiers offset a number of costs associated with producing the book, including extra shipping expenses (see next point). We don’t have that option for this sale. The Kickstarter price was initially set around a 300pp paperback book, but the finished product is now a 350pp hardcover.
Why is the international shipping so expensive?
Unfortunately, international shipping is by weight, and the book must be shipped at the 5lb rate including packaging. We’re still charging less than the actual international shipping cost and aiming to offset it with the book price (see above). If you have the option to ship a book to a friend or forwarding service in the States, I highly recommend it.
When can I expect to get my package?
Orders will ship weekly on a rolling basis every Thursday evening. If your order is received by 2pm EDT on Thursday, it will go out that night. If it is received after, it will go out with the next week’s batch. You will receive an email with tracking information when your package ships.

(you may be asking yourselves, minnie, are you ever going to write anything other than Steve and Bucky getting it on in front of the other Avengers ever again? and my reply would be: probably not because I just love it too goddamn much. sorry)
Bucky couldn’t say what day it is exactly, or even what time, but it’s dark outside and they’re somewhere in Texas. At least, he thinks it’s Texas. Could be Arkansas, now that he thinks about it, not that it matters. What matters is that they stopped another megalomaniac, averted another catastrophe, and none of them are seriously hurt. Everyone is in need of a drink, though.
Though this is a fix-it fic, it’s really more a collection of all the human emotion that was wiped from that ‘What If…?“ episode. Bucky lives. Steve lives. Okoye lives. Everything else is the same except the hurt actually hurts and that novel idea of comfort exists. I also like to think that, as a zombie, Steve was just constantly following Bucky around.
I was left really disquieted by the episode and wanted to give all the characters a chance to actually reckon with what was done to them. Also. Cuddles.

It was just Steve’s luck really. It was his first outing as the asset’s handler and everything had gone to shit.
Steve is the asset’s new handler, and when a mission goes bad he makes the decision to wait in a safe house. But mountain weather is against them and the pair end up snowed in together. The longer the asset spends out of cryo, the more of Steve’s questions he can answer, and Steve might not like what he finds.
+ Alt Canon . Snowed in a cabin together, Bucky’s programming starts to crack and Steve starts to remember this isn’t his first time working with Bucky.
The asset’s orders at the end of The Winter Soldier weren’t to kill Captain America, but to capture him, so that he could be wiped and turned into another asset. The asset has succeeded in that mission, capturing its target and taking him back to the Hydra base. But the Hydra soldiers are dead, captured, or fled, so there is no one there to give the asset new orders.
Alone with its captive, the asset has no instructions on how it is meant to act. But the more time it spends with its target, the more old protocols start to assert themselves, like the protocol that when that face is hurt and bleeding, the asset is supposed to clean away the blood.

As if Steve’s life isn’t already weird enough what with the waking up in the 21st century and fighting aliens thing, his future self’s Time Heist and Reverse Time Heist have left 2012 Steve in a pretty awkward position: not only does he have to pretend to be HYDRA in order to save Bucky, but now he also has to help save the whole damn universe too? Luckily for him, if the first time was tragedy, then the second time around is definitely a hell of a lot closer to farce.

In a world where magic is as commonplace as electricity, HYDRA worships a god who craves order through death. They used His blood to create fierce Soldiers then enslaved them by chaining their souls.
The man who was James Barnes is the last Soldier, the rest having been put down after succumbing to the call of the Blood. One night, out of control after a mission, the increasingly unstable Soldier runs into Steve Rogers. Instead of being turned into a red smear on the ground, Steve successfully talks him down. HYDRA decides to keep him. The Soldier’s the last one they’ve got; if Steve can keep him calm he’s going to do it whether he likes it or not.
Like fractious racehorses have companion goats, they hand Steve off to the Soldier as a kind of pet. But studies have shown pets can ease depression, despair and loneliness, lead to an increased sense of safety and well-being, and provide a source of protection and unconditional love. HYDRA really should have reviewed the literature before they decided to give Steve to the Soldier. Especially since, once Steve Rogers is involved, protectiveness can get slightly out of hand.
+ Shrinkyclinks. Modern Steve is the only one who can bring the Winter Soldier back from bloodlust. When Shield rescues them, Bucky doesn’t trust anyone but Steve and Steve would never abuse that power.

Peter gets underestimated. Everyone calls him “kid,” as if he’s not part of the Avengers. Well anyway, contrary to what the others may think, he does notice things. Being in high school is good for something. Noticing when people have crushes, for one.
Nobody else seems to notice the way Captain America looks at the Winter Soldier. Peter is still not sure how to act around Cap. He’s a little intimidating, not a very approachable guy. He always looks very severe and serious and to be honest, Peter’s arms still hurt when he thinks about the fight at the airport. But when Steve’s looking at the Winter Soldier, he looks a lot more approachable. Softer, somehow. Peter likes him better that way. Not that he’d ever dare say that to Captain America’s face. He’s not in any hurry to die again. Anyway, the point is, Cap clearly has it bad for his best friend.

This is the story of how Bucky and Thor pick up the pieces of their lives, find their own worth, find their own person, and find their way out of a multiverse of 100 realities stitched together with 100 tropes. There’s love, there’s friendship, there’s an extreme amount of Tesseract fuckery, but most importantly there are sexy vampires. Bon Appetit.

“Dearly beloved,” the tired-looking court magistrate said. “We are gathered here today to join this man and this, uh, Norse God in holy…matrimony.” * The bifrost is broken and Thor is stranded on Earth, working for SHIELD without any authorized documents. Loki gets way too drunk and regrettably horny one night and offers to marry the big, dumb superhero for a green card.
This turns out to be a mistake, because even though Thor is smoking hot, the Avengers keep breaking Manhattan, Loki’s apartment suffers an unfortunate setback, and the U.S. government requires way too much paperwork. Also, Loki hates his job and his best friend is in love with Captain America.
This would only happen to him. Loki would take a nap, if anyone would goddamn let him. Instead, he gets bangs.
+ Shrunkyclunks. Modern Bucky and Loki run into the Avengers over and over again. Madcap courting ensues
When Odinson shows up it’s with half the basketball team and a lot of noise that Loki absolutely did not consent to have in his creative space.
His senses are being assaulted.
“This is a sacred space,” He says and he can practically feel Bucky rolling his eyes behind him, but there are points to be made and Bucky’s judgement is not welcome here.
“It’s an auditorium,” Thor says like he doesn’t comprehend Loki’s point, which is fair, because he is, after all, very very dumb. All those hits to the head doing jock things like football and smashing beer cans against his skull really can’t be helping.

+ Modern AU. Blonde jocks have been assigned to help with the spring play and theater kid Loki despairs. Bucky however, is delighted, and gets a date to the prom.
Steve hesitantly reaches out and takes the object in Tony’s arms to survey it. ‘It’ being a pillow upon which was an almost frighteningly accurate illustration of Loki, their on-and-off again nemesis. "I don’t–how did you even get this? Who would MAKE this?”
Clearly Steve doesn’t find the attention-to-detail on Loki’s costume as hilarious as Tony does, which whatever. Like he said. Killjoy.

“Is this how you offer me thanks for saving your life?” Bucky grins, delight making him giddy and playful. “Pinning me to the ground without even a proper courtship first?”

Steve is just a small woodland fairy, but when he hears that the Leshy, a powerful forest spirit, has stolen a child, he can’t let this injustice stand. He takes it upon himself to confront the Leshy. The confrontation… doesn’t go as planned.
When the confrontation goes in a more sexual direction than Steve had intended, he’s not certain he minds, and maybe the Leshy isn’t as bad as he’d first thought.

When Bucky was seven the Training Masters told him he had no magic, no potential, that he’d never be a witch. It wasn’t a surprise. Witches came from certain families and a certain class, just like magic was sterile and ordered and familiars were obedient and servile. That was simply the way the world worked.

By comparison, being roommates with James Buchanan Barnes, formerly the Winter Soldier, has been a vast improvement. Notwithstanding the part where people openly take pictures of Barnes (and consequently Peter) on campus. Or random people poking Peter in the back during lectures to hiss, are you really the Winter Soldier’s roommate at him. Or remnant HYDRA operatives kidnapping Peter in order to lure the Winter Soldier out (which, really, is too many levels of stupid for Peter to handle).
“You know you’re not supposed to call him the Winter Soldier any more, right?” Peter says, while they handcuff him to a pipe. A pipe. “Also this whole thing is kind of messing up my schedule. My two overdue papers won’t exactly write themselves.”
+ Alt endgame/everyone lives. Bucky and Peter are now college roommates. Peter fights crime, writes essays, and tries to keep trauma from messing with his powers.
