I was struggling to get into anthologies most of this year but I can’t stop reading this one. I’m reading the essays in order of appearance and am feeling so inspired by the women in here. There are many books I read as an adult and wished I had found them when I was a teenager. I would forgo them all if I could have just this book to read, when I was 17.

It’s so powerful. I think what works for this collection is the length of each piece (short + to the point) and the sheer diversity of contributors. The book is divided into four sections:
LEARNINGS
RELATIONSHIPS
WORKS OF FICTION
NEW GROUND & BIG IDEAS
I’m starting Words of Fiction shortly and will edit this post if I have more thoughts.

learning about japanese adjectives as someone begins to run a bath in the next room. my sister reads “harry potter and the philosopher’s stone” to her first born son, and inches of sunlight peek through my blinds. i also smell lavender, and i think someone is listening to a soft piano playlist on spotify. my eyelids feel heavy, and i continue to write.
☕️ S U N D A Y M O O D ☕️sundays in autumn kind of require yoga, cozy blankets, warm tea and a good book. just in case your looking for a good read, I can recommend the Peter-Grant-Books by Ben Aaronovitch - especially if you love detective stories and Harry Potter. I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for so long - I am so in love with this series (and that means a great deal since the only series I am as obsessed with as this is Harry Potter) have a nice Sunday
