Corona

The world has changed rapidly. All measures possible are taken to reduce the pressure on healthcare and to slow the spreading of the virus down until we have found good medication and eventually a vaccin.

The Netherlands is no exception, we are one of the worse hit countries. My husband, who works in mental healthcare research, works from home now. As the daycare is closed, our little son who turned 2 past week is full time at home now too. All public places are closed, so it is basically the three of us in our apartment with a good walk every now and then. He is doing great and we are all healthy and I feel very thankful for that.

However, inevitably I have considerably less time to work. I can barely get to the amount time to make new pieces and keep up with social media and messages.

Added to this my little business is very internationally oriented. 95% of all pieces ship to all over the world, about 2/3 to the US. All shipping restrictions of different contries are rapidly changing, sometimes by the day.

As good customer service and guaranteed delivery are some of my highest priotities I have decided to put my shops on vacation mode for the time being. I simply can’t promise something today as I do not know what new rules tomorrow will bring.

I will give priority to my family, to stay safe & healthy. But I won’t lay down my work and won’t dissapear! I will keep on making & designing new pieces and I stay in touch through social media, blogs and so on :)

hi everyone. merry christmas and happy holidays to you all. i’m going to bear sad news on a typically happy day heh.

I remember mentioning it on this blog but I don’t remember if I ever officially posted about it: I said I would leave Tumblr if I was elected for a position I’d decided to run for in university. I did get that position, and several other opportunities throughout the year but alongside these opportunities came a lot of heartache and stress for reasons both related and unrelated to said opportunities. since I first opened my blog (the original dreamystuffers blog, now dreamystuffers-archive) in 2017-2018 I’ve never found true satisfaction. in truth, i’ve always felt i wrote for the satisfaction of others and despite all the heartwarming messages i’ve received over the years, i still am not content with my work. lately i’ve had a lot of time to reflect on who i want to be and what i want to continue going forward and writing has always been put on the backburner for me. it’s been a task i felt i needed to fulfill and not necessarily something i wanted to. the past couple of months, or even the past year or two have marked some of the worst periods of reception i’ve received since being on this site. and while many people say “you should write for yourself” it’s never been that way for me regarding anything and it’s very difficult for me to take those words to heart. it’s similar to making gifs too. i wake up the minute the mv comes out only to get beat down by the tumblr algorithm. not even the palettes i made were enough to get me over 50 notes at some point and honestly, it’s extremely discouraging to know that the work i put in goes virtually nowhere.

i’ve been very lucky to have many amazing mutuals throughout the years who have come and gone through tumblr and i’d like to thank you for making something that felt quite draining a bit more fulfilling. if any of you want to keep in contact, just feel free to dm me and we can exchange socials or smth :3 i’ve never done any of those big milestone chains that people do on anniversaries or after hitting a certain amount of followers so let me use this thank you message as an opportunity for that.

@chilligyu hi lex :3 i think i’ve told you this several times but thank you for being an inspiration and guiding light for me. thank you for seeing something in me that i didn’t really ever see in myself. even though we met when i was just starting off in the writing world, you were always so kind to me and gave me opportunities that i’m still not sure i deserve. i hope the world is kind to you and i’m here if you ever need anything.

@cinnaminsvga zee we’ve been mutuals for a very long time and i still think you’re one of my favourite writers on this site. following you changed my experience liking bts and even though you don’t write much anymore, i always have and do enjoy reading your stuff. i hope you’re kind to yourself and don’t push yourself too hard.
