What makes me sick is not only did the CW rob Dean and Castiel of a happy ending and the queer community of representation for MONEY but the fallout landed on Jensen Ackles and he couldn’t even defend himself. Him and Misha filmed the scene and reciprocation only to have it butchered without their knowledge and Jensen took the slander for it
Not looking for a pat on the back, but I’ve always defended him. The knee-jerk reactions to his words were always “homophobe” when he was poked and prodded about Destiel at cons (which, I’m going to be honest, I hate that fans ask questions like that. It puts the actors on the spot. They’re loaded questions with fallout either way they answer).
But after 10 years in law, I also understand how contracts work and the fact that these leads are probably bound to well-worded NDAs with hefty sanctions attached for breaking them. There are key talking points they are not allowed to speak on.
He told us without telling us that something was up, and made his displeasure known without giving us details. I hated that people blamed him for it. It was unfair. There’s some vindication in that now, but for some, the damage has already been done.
