LIVE

Stargazing in Central Oregon. Daniel & his father Walter swing on the bench & pick out the constellations in the midnight sky. It was the Summer of 1941 & in just a few short months, Walter would be called to service. Directed by Tim Cash & written by @pennanbrae, The Astronot streams on @primevideo below with the 11-song soundtrack on all music platforms.

The opening scene for The Astronot film featuring President John F Kennedy’s historic 1962 Speech at Rice University in which the goal was stated to land a man on the moon & return him safely by the end of the decade. The independent film by director Tim Cash & screenwriter @pennanbrae streams on Prime Video via the below link.

Early sketch of ‘The Astronot’ movie poster by artist John Keane. It was quite beautiful to see this early rendering & its relation to the finished artwork. The Oregon-shot work set in the 1960s streams on @primevideo in the USA & UK (& perhaps other countries I’m not aware of at the moment) via the profile link or below. The 72-minute independent film was shot in Bend & La Pine by FFE Films director Tim Cash & written by Vancouver screenwriter @pennanbrae. The soundtracks for the film also stream on @spotify & @applemusic. If seeking some weekend viewing & have a chance to tune in, thanks very much for sharing your time with it.

Hello everybody!

First and foremost, we hope that you are staying safe and healthy during these strange and scary times. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. Those of us in Los Angeles have been in stay-at-home mode for over a month now, and expect to be in lockdown for at least another month. Although film and television production has been completely shut down, we have been trying to make the best of working from home, including continuing to push through post-production on PURE!

Our director, Cate, and key producer/editor, J, have been busy creating the graphics and animation for the interactive scenes in our pilot episode. We have also been writing and testing voice-over dialogue to accompany those scenes. And it’s been looking pretty darn cool.

We’re looking forward to putting this together with all the live footage and creating a unique storytelling format that allows us to expand on the world of PURE. As always, thank you for your support and enthusiasm!

The rough cut is complete, and we are currently planning and prepping for the rest of post-production. We anticipate one day of pick-ups, and the remainder of post includes things like CGI/visual FX, color correction, ADR and sound design, and music. In order to fund post-production, we have spent most of 2019 applying to filmmaking grants and finishing funds. Most of these opportunities are tedious processes, often not announcing their finalists and winners for many months. But we are optimistic and doing as much prep and post as we can do on our own while we continue looking for financing.

In the meantime, we are going to begin distributing some of the hard-copy perks from our crowdfunding campaign starting in the next few weeks. So if you are expecting a One-Sheet, Character Portraits, and/or Autographed Script Pages keep a look-out in your inbox for instructions that will help us get those to you. Larger perks such as the Behind-the-Scenes Featurette, Digital Portfolio, and Producers’ Books require us to finish post-production first, so those will be distributed at a later date.

If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say “Hi!” please don’t hesitate to email us anytime at [email protected].

Just taking a moment to re-share our Team Reel as we continue fine-tuning the script for Episode Zero and plugging away at pre-production!

I am currently producing an animated short film titled DRAGONFLY. It’s about the Tokyo Firebombing of March 9-10, 1945 and is inspired by the little known lives of my maternal grandparents.

I am crowdfunding for the project on Seed & Spark from Oct. 13-Nov. 11, 2020 at www.dragonflyshortfilm.com!

Please check it out and FOLLOW! You can follow the project w/o contributing financially and it’ll still help us out by making us eligible for special perks and services.

I know it’s been a tough year (putting it lightly). I’ve been dealing with unemployment and leaving the city while raising a new baby! So I get that it’s not a great time to be supporting creative projects right now. But I decided that staying creative is one of the few things that keeps me going right now and I would love for you to join me in this project if you can! Thank you!!!
