I didn’t think any other national park would impress me the way Glacier did until I got to Grand Teton. The Grand Teton mountain range is so surreal looking. With it’s rugged outline, snowy passes and lakes that surround it, it was near impossible to look away from.
Jess and I met a cool kiwi in Zion. He had a 1969 Ford Econoline Camper Van and I couldn’t resist asking him to check out the inside. After having a few beers together that night we exchanged contact information and parted ways. We were fortunate enough to cross paths again in Grand Teton. Dan had some friends with him, a kiwi couple - Jen and Lloyd, two genuinely nice and cool humans. We shared a campsite together, after hiking all day we’d sit around the fire and laugh all night. It was nice to hang with like minded people and exchange laughs and stories with people from across the world. I hope that we may meet again, friends. I also hope I find myself gazing up at the Tetons again sooner than later.

We’re still in the Tetons and loving it.
.
It’s #twofortuesday so today we’ll be sharing two photos with you, starting with this shot of one of the historic barns located along #mormonrow
.
Located at the south end of Grand Teton National Park, this iconic barn is best captured at sunrise when the morning sun lights up the barn and West side of the Teton range.
.
I (Matt) shot this image with a @fujifilm_northamerica X-T2, 23mm f/1.4 lens, @breakthrough.photography circular polarizer, and a @leefilters .6 soft neutral density graduated filter.
.
The image above is actually three exposures, composited using #adobephotoshop
.
Let me know in the comments below if you like nerding out on camera gear and techniques (like I do) and tell me if you want to see more posts like this (with detailed shoot info). And make sure to swing by later today for another photo ✌

Just a hop and a skip away. Another treasure that I never thought i needed to see? I was blind before but now I see.

The fires have not been good to us this season and we are seeing the effects from our inability to see or breathe. I see the mountains but not as clearly as it could have been.

Camping in this park was a first and not a last. Looking over at my tent mate and crying because I know how this will end. I don’t like to think far into the future but with seasonal jobs you can’t help the inevitable. I love this world and I learned at that moment in my tent that I really like that boy too.

Each winter, thousands of elk make the journey to the National Elk Refuge in Wyoming. For the Jackson Elk Herd, the refuge is a vital stopover and offers outstanding wildlife photography and viewing opportunities all year long. The Teton Range is the perfect setting for the elk’s timeless traditions.

Grand Tetons from Bridger Teton National Forest

July 1, 2012

After leaving Colorado to escape from getting stuck in some major wild fires, we resided in an old camp spot in the Bridger Teton National Forest. This was the second time we would visit in this trip… a four day stop on the way out west and just about a week stop on the way back east, we clearly enjoyed these beautiful mountains. Not to mention during the hike to Cascade Canyon I encountered my second moose, this time up close and personal he literally ran us off the trail almost taking out my best friend! But besides the spectacular views and amazing smelling forests, Jackson has one of the most laid back atmospheres a town can offer.
