Character profiles from the London Editions/Egmont Magazines My Little PonyAnnual of 1994, which was themed around the “G1.5″ My Little Pony Tales series. I used to watch the show when it aired on the Disney Channel; I don’t remember a great deal about it besides remembering that it was far less magical than the previous series (which reran alongside it).

As the London Editions/Egmont Magazine My Little Pony comic was - so far as I know - in-print during the entire course of the UK toyline, the series presumably had to shift at some point from tales of nightmarish dimensional doorsandApplejack killing a wizard to more domestic fare where Ponies were basically people living in modern-day suburbia. I have no idea how that transition was handled, but it strikes me as potentially fascinating…

Beast Wars: Transformers 4-panel gag strips I scanned out of a Japanese guidebook to the series. At this point I’m not actually sure which one it was - BW got a ton of ancillary books in Japan compared to what we got here and I have a pile of them.

Terrorsaur’s design here seems to be specifically referencing the conman character Iyami from Fujio Akatsuka’sOsomatsu-kun, which didn’t have a TV show at the time Beast Wars was airing (but was presumably well-ingrained in Japanese pop culture at that point).

Whoever made that book… I- *wheeze*

So yeah Bob and Lori out here doing the most… it’s an actual book, of course:

Don’t waste your time unless you’re looking forward to rolling your eyes. The whole book views “homosexuality and lesbianism” as a problem. Lots “ohh no, there’s no way I’m gonna go near a gay bar… unless it’s to hand out tracks ☺️”
