#the owl house theory

LIVE

totally-not-an-awkward-okapi:

Gotta love going on a historical research tangent for the purpose of fandom only to discover an actual scholarly historical debate.

Ok so I’m so glad you asked because this is kind of wild if your a Huge Nerd. In The Owl House Luz’s hometown of Gravesfield Connecticut was founded in 1635.

Which sounds innocuous except the colony of Connecticut was founded in 1636. Meaning that it was founded before the state and later incorporated.

So.

For the purposes of fashion based historical identification I wanted to find (a) pre colony Connecticut town(s). So, what’s the oldest town in the state of Connecticut in our world?

Well.

It depends.

See, Wethersfield claims to have been founded in 1634 and Windsor claims to have been settled in 1633. See, settlers from Plymouth established a trading post in Windsor in 1633. Not a town. Wethersfield claims that though no homes where established until 1635, the town was founded in 1634 when colonists first “made it their home.” HOWEVER. According to state archaeologist Brian Jones the Dutch build a fort in 1633 Hartford and there is some evidence of a trading post as early as 1623. But, according to their Historical Society Director, Windsor has diary records demonstrating that they helped traders going to Wethersfield.

y'all if the collector luz theory ends up not happening we’re all gonna look so silly with our overanalyzing of shadows on luz’s face and panicking over similar circumstantial evidence

Okay so, Bill knows of Belos, knew of the last Titan egg.

The Titan trappers knew King existed. And they could go back and forth between their home and The Boiling Isles with the portal so, they might have gotten the information that there was a last Titan from there.

This book supports that idea, but something more important sticks out here. The book is a Study of the Boiling Isles, of the Titan. And this was written by the head of the Beast coven, someone with experience dealing with and identifying creatures.

Probably including Titans.

Flora D’esplora wrote the book. She likely studied Titan anatomy to a degree. She’s seen King since she was at the owl house. And she works for Belos.

Does Belos already know what King is and where to find him?

Who is likely to take Hunter in + How is drives the story:

Chances are I’m going to edit this post along the way but these are my thought so far just after 2x17 events.

Starting with The Owl House:

Considering we already have 2x17, they seem less likely as of now. I would’ve assumed they chased Hunter down but with all of them wanted and so close to being arrested, it’s probably not the safest for Hunter to be there. But what about after the events of the story?

After, it definitely seems possible. They’re clearly making a sibling dynamic between Luz and Hunter (as if they don’t have that already). And it would be good for him to branch out and learn the ways of wild magic, especially away from Belos. This family, especially Luz, are so good at making others see another point of view and keeping an open mind. It would be nice to see them try to help Hunter and make him feel comfortable. Showing that just because he wasn’t born like other witches or even humans, he still gets to be his own person. And we all know Eda loves adding more people to the family. But at the same time, Hunter and Eda need time to build a connection. At the moment, it seems more like a “I’ll take him on weekends and holidays” kind of deal rather than a permanent situation but I definitely see them becoming family whether they live together or not.

In terms of where we are this the story right now, it would be a lot to focus on. With Luz going back home, King’s new identity, and everyone clearly keeping it hidden that they’re upset Luz will head home soon, the story would be pretty thick if Hunter were added on though I wouldn’t mind much. That being said, I’m sure they’ll meet again either planning a rebellion or somewhere within the rebellion.

Willow:

Chances are Hunter is in a group chat with the Emerald Entrails after the events of 2x13 ASIAS. Out of everyone on the team, Hunter would most likely ask for Willow’s help as he clearly respects her as captain. It would be a nice place for him to stay away from Castle grounds and have somewhere cozy. Plus Willow seems to have no ill will towards Hunter as she’s awaiting “Caleb’s next day off.”

These two are clearly made to be parallels of each other via being “half witches.” I’d even make the argument that they’re foils of one another.

When we first meet Willow in S1, she’s bullied, has one friend, and is lacking self-confidence. It isn’t until she’s thrown into the plant track where we see her blossoming (hehe). With Hunter, we saw him at the top of his game as the Golden Guard and Emperor’s right hand man. Now he’s lost all of that and is disgusted at the thought of being the G.G successor. If Hunter is with Willow, we would get more Willow and Gus (I’m assuming) content. Willow would help Hunter the same way Luz and Gus helped her. She would help him find his confidence and sense of meaning in this world.

Now the problems: 1. Did Hunter have his scroll with him when he chased down Team RED (Raine, Eber, Darius) into the Night Market or did he leave it at the castle? I guess Flapjack (DAMN YOU PANCAKES) would be able to get it by flying up to his window but something tells me he wouldn’t leave Hunter alone like that even for a couple minutes in case something happens.

2. How would Willow’s dads react to having a 16 year old boy who’s literally the G.G and on the run in their house? But that could be easily fixed by having them be chill with it or making up a cover story and lying to them. Which would lead to conflict later but oh well chaotic route for the win.

Even if Hunter isn’t with Willow, I definitely think they’ll have room to grow together in the future and I’m excited to see how that happens.

Darius (Raine and Eber?):

I shall admit my bias here. I want Darius to take Hunter in. But I also think that’s the route we’re heading towards and he’s the most plausible guardian for Hunter.

Let’s start by saying Darius isn’t the kindest. He’s definitely not perfect taking into consideration “you don’t deserve to wear that patch,” and “Darius ignored me as per usual” in Hunter’s palisman observations (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s on YouTube. Dana did a stream).

That being said, it’s clearly depicted that Darius is not what he seems. He’s actively rebelling against Belos and was kind enough to give Hunter a scroll to contact his friends outside of the castle and pat him on the head. Bare minimum, I know, but that kindness has been foreign to Hunter for the past 16 years. Not only that but he shows genuine concern and panic over Hunter being trapped in Belos’ mind. I like the idea that they can make and grow their own family together. It would be nice to see them mourn and heal together.

It seems set up perfectly anyways. The fact that Hunter starts acting on his own accord the same time we find out that Darius was the previous G.G’s protege? Darius didn’t like that Hunter was Belos’ little lap dog. And that we know all of the previous G.G’s rebelled against Belos at some point and now Darius is as well and Hunter is on his way to doing so? He could help Hunter stand his ground. They could learn about Grimwalkers together as Darius knows Hunter’s predecessor, he knows the most about the previous G.G and he definitely knows something isn’t right over the fact that his mentor disappeared and this kid looks so similar. Darius has something to fight for with his connection to the G.G but now it has purpose and meaning cause he’s looking after Hunter.

Their stories align so perfectly.

Not only would we be able to focus on Hunter’s story cleanly about finding his own sense of dignity and self-worth, we get to see Darius humbled and step up, ready to fill in the role of a mentor and even a positive father figure in Hunter’s life. He gets to give back to his mentor by taking care of Hunter. It’s also worth noting, it would push Team RED’s objective and tie it to the main plot too. We’d get to see more of their story and how they started working together after Eda’s Requiem. It would be the smartest writing move with what we have so far.

Not to mention, chances are they found him already. You can’t tell me after such a strong reaction from Darius, plus Raine clearly wanting to help Eda get her kid (and their future stepdaughter) back, they just gave Eda the teleportation potion and dipped. I figured they would’ve stayed hidden to ensure Luz and Hunter made it out safely which means they could’ve seen the direction Hunter ran and followed him.

Only problem is: Would Hunter trust the three coven heads? After everything he went through, it would most likely take him a while to trust an adult in power, especially ones so close to Belos. And I feel like the only safe place they would hide him in where he can have access to basic needs are either if they have their own individual homes away from the castle, or maybe the BATS hideout that we saw in Eda’s Requiem.

Honestly, knowing this show and it’s creator, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with none of those and surprise us somehow.

Regardless, I feel like all three of these are good choices and it’s nice to realize how many people care for Hunter and at the end of this hopefully he’ll have the biggest found family that ever found familied. Fingers crossed he isn’t just camping in the woods alone and cold.

Philip Wittebane’s brother is the Owl Beast theory

So I was trying to sleep at night, and suddenly something occured to me. Somehow, I wanted to put all my thoughts that I had in a post. So what if the owl beast, Eda’s curse — is actually Philip Wittebane’s brother? I’ll call him William, because that’s how this fandom calls him.

A might delete this later? I also apologize for possible grammar mistakes, I’m not a native English speaker.

Do you guys remember the code message from season 1?

Two Witches Torn Apart

Now Alone

Two Hearts Of Stone

A Curse Of Feathers And Mud

A Betrayal Of Blood

“A Curse Of Feathers And Mud”! “A Betrayal Of Blood” Okay, at first I thought it was about the Clawthorne sisters. With Eda having the curse of feathers — and blood is her having a kinsman, a sister who betrayed her by cursing her. But then in “Hunting Palisman”, we saw that Emperor Belos, like Eda — is also cursed. His curse is extremely similar to that of mud.

Not only that, he has a kinsman too, a brother. Why else would Hunter call Belos uncle? What if it isn’t about the Clawthorne sisters, but about the Wittebane brothers? With Belos being Philip, having de curse of mud — and William having the curse of feathers?

We don’t really know very much about the owl beast. All we know is that the owl beast was once a living being who roamed free in the demon realm — for God knows how long, before it was captured by the collector — and turned into a curse. It ended up at the night market after being lost at sea for a long time, until Lilith found it.

Although the backstory of the owl beast is pretty sad, it’s strange that it first had a normal life before it was turned into a curse. It’s just weird that it even has a backstory in the first place! Somehow, It feels like the owl beast is important besides just being Eda’s curse — and that we were going to learn more about its previous life.

William Wittebane being the owl beast sounds pretty important to me. It could also explain the backstory of the collector — and to who she is as a whole. We’re definitely not done with the backstory of the owl beast — and the collecter, there is more to it.

What’s interesting to me is that William’s palisman was Lil’ Rascal. And yes, Lil’ Rascal was William’s palisman, not Philip’s! If you look at the picture of the Wittebane brothers from Hopkins’ book, Philip’s coat is unbuttoned up — and he’s wearing a belt, just like his statue! William however, you can see that Rascal is on his shoulder. Which means Rascal was his palisman. William’s coat is always buttoned up — and he does not wear a belt, just like his statue! Etc…

William’s Palisman represents the desire for freedom! The desire to be outside, exploring the world and the desire for knowledge. But also the desire to escape control — and to be free of any responsibilities! That’s why Rascal is Hunter’s palisman in the first place, but also because he and William looked identical — not just personality wise!

So what makes it so interesting that Lil’ Rascal is William’s Palisman? Why am I mentioning all this? Well, If the owl beast is indeed William, it’s pretty sad for such a free spirited person like him to be imprisoned for centuries — while he has always longed for freedom. I’m sure it must be terrible for him to be imprisoned like that. I don’t know, I felt like it was something I should mention. Dana also said that birds are a Clawthorne thing. Could Rascal symbolize William’s connection to Eda as her curse?

But why didn’t Belos recognized his brother when he met Eda in the finale of season 1? I don’t really know, perhaps there is a logical explanation for this.

The only counter argument is that William could not be the owl beast — is if Hunter is a grimwalker, cloned after William. You need a bone of ortet to clone someone, so William must be dead for that. Maybe you just need a piece of dna — like a strand of hair for example? Perhaps there is a logical explanation for this too?

We don’t really know much about the Wittebane brothers and their past, nor about grimwalkers. So this theory about William being the owl beast is still on the table, for now at least.

If this theory is true, I can’t help but wonder, how did these two brothers got cursed? Only time will tell.

Conclusion: William somehow transformed into the owl beast, got later transformed into a curse by the collector — and now lives inside Eda.

Thoughts?

Wow…Just Wow, This is alot for one episode!!!

I was so excited that Hunter finally called Luz by her name!!!! And I know most of us knew Belos was Phillip.

It was adorable that Hunter told Flapjack He loves him,So much development he went through. I was surprised that Belos really told the cold hard truth to him just like that. I was hoping that Hunter would stay with Eda. (plus look in the background of this scene) [Looks like Belos tried to erase Hunter’s original & alot other things happened in between)

So Kikimora said that Emperor is aware of the CATT’s plans and has eyes everywhere

Which may mean that there’s a traitor among the traitors

OR??? Doesn’t this empty pillow seem sus to you?? Who’s using the invisibility glyph???

I’ve just noticed something. The picture in the center. Grimwalker’s drowning. A man is standing in the corner, it’s clearly Philip, his earliest outfit

This bitch is RIGHT NEXT TO HIM, my boy’s dying in a swamp? and Philip ABSOLUTELY can save him but this fucker just stands still and doesn’t even BOTHER TO BEND OVER OR SOMETHING I —

I just thought of something regarding Eda’s season 2 dress.

I think I like it more than the first one because it looks more “put together”, and now I think that could be a metaphor for Eda’s development thus far.

Does that make sense?

cloudywithchanceofrainestorm:

I am a hundred precent certain that Wittebro is an ancestor to the Clawthorns.

Exhibit A: Birds are a Clawthorn thing.

Dana Terrace has said before that the Clawthorns have a thing for birds, and this is proven true in the show. Every member of the family has a bird palisman-

Now we have seen background palisman who are birds (such as bell goose) but weve never see another witch with a bird palisman until Flapjack chose Hunter.

We know Flapjack had an owner before, and everyones certain its the Wittebro, wouldnt it be weird if birds were a Clawthorne thing but Wittebro was the one exception.

Exhibit B: Dell Clawthorne looks weirdly like hunter.

Dell is most likely the orginal holder of the Clawthorne name. I say this cause Gwen says that the Clawthornes are known for their Palisman carving skills and Dell had that role. That being said, look at their side profiles together,

The bridge of the nose and how their hair flows backwards especially sick out here, their far from identical but they definitely look like they could be related.

I think its especially noticeable when you compare hunter to young Dell.

With his hair up you can see the how similar their hair falls.

Exhibit C: the mind portraits

Okay so this is the biggest piece of evidence is the portraits within Belos’ mind, and how they seem to tell the story of how Philip killed his brother after he fell in love with a witch. This post pretty well interprets them as such.

But look at the witch in the portraits,

That first one really looks like young Eda from Echos of the Past.

Thats signature Clawthorne poof hair right there.

Exhibit D: what did gwen say again?

The Clawthornes are known for their Palisman carving skills.

And what does one of the portraits show Wittebro doing?

Carving.

Its never stated that you need magic to carve palisman, Hunter doesnt need magic to have one and Eda never says anything about it when she brings the palistrom wood to Luz.

It would be the only skill he could use to in the demon realm to gain a living without magic.

Exhibit E: Whats behind the Clawthorne estate

When Eda runs out to the back of the estate she finds these ruins aswell as the damaged portal door.

Going back to the portraits, in the presumably last stand between the brothers we can see that wherever they are, its on fire.

This could be an explanation for the ruins, if this is the old Clawthorne estate then Philip destroyed it.

It would also explain why the portal door was there, if Philip didn’t have it of course his brother would. And if his brother knew about his plans to exterminate this place he could bury it to hide it, hence Eda finding it in the dirt.

So what if this is correct, and the mordern Clawthorne clan are descendents of this guy?

Well it looks like that witch cursed Philip with something and that Eda’s family is way more involved with this that previously thought.

It also means Hunter, on some level, is canonically related to Eda in some way.

Speculation says the order of the next episodes are as followed

*“Senses and Insensitivity”
*“Adventures in the Elements”
*“Mini-Problems”

Given the fact that the first letters of each episode spell a sentence. So, if the order is right we’ll get “A WITCH LOSES A M…”. I also have a theory that the word beginning with “M” is “MAGICAL” after counting the six other untitled episodes. We would get “A WITCH LOSES A MAGICAL…” which leaves the sentence incomplete by the end of season one. With that said, it is reasonable to believe that season two will either carry on or complete the sentence depending if the show will renew for a third season.

Owl house theory time!

Ok so I watched yesterdays lie with my brother today and

I’ve seen the theory that

Hunter is a clone belos made

I’ve seen the theory that

Hunter is a decedent of the brother

I’ve seen the theory that

The brother was one of the ones to die looking for titans blood.

Now I give you a combination of all three.

Hunter is a clone, not of belos but of belos’ brother. Philip and his brother were brought to the boiling isles or accidentally went in and got trapped. In their search for a way out philip’s brother got killed by wild magic (most likely magic bouncing around like what we see happen to eda) which is why he has a hatred and is cautious about wild magic. He tries desperately to get his brother back for years. He gets hunter but hunter isn’t his brother. He may look the same but he’s not his brother. Philip/belos at this point is a bit fond of hunter because of how similar he is to his brother but he also is very frustrated that it’s not his brother which is why he acts like this around hunter. Switching between caring and somewhat loving to cruel. My brother then brought up that, that may be why he needs hunter now. The original goal was to bring his brother back. But once he realized this isn’t his brother. He once again began to look for a way to bring him back this resulted in him thinking of an idea, a crazy idea that a crazy dude who was desperate might come up with. Bring the titan back, resurrect the titan and get his brother back. After all the titan is a super powerful being with powerful magic. This was never about control. It was always about his brother.

The Owl House season 2 is on the way, so it’s time to make your predictions before it’s too late.Th

The Owl House season 2 is on the way, so it’s time to make your predictions before it’s too late. There are four main mysteries so far:

  1. What Belos wants to do with the portal
  2. King’s origins
  3. Bat Queen’s origins
  4. Who sent letters signed “Lus” (this one is less important, but still)

My prediction method follows two rules:

1. The simplest explanation is the best (Occam’s razor).
2. It’s always someone you know.

Let’s get to the predictions then.

1) Belos is planning to do something with the portal on Unity Day. He says it’s not the conquest and I choose to believe him because otherwise, it would look bad from the show’s perspective - you can’t just straight-up lie to your audience like that.I don’t think he needs the portal simply for traveling - in this case, he could have simply rented the portal from Eda. It looks like he needs full control of the portal to redesign it somehow. It’s safe to assume that all main plot lines are going to converge at one point, and the only other major plotline is the Titan. So he’s going to use the portal in a way that is somehow tied with the Titan; since it’s dead, the most obvious explanation is that he wants to resurrect him (or become a Titan, or merge with him, whatever).

image

2) Examples of Adegast and Snaggleback show us that a demon shrinks into a lesser form after sustaining critical damage. The shape of King’s horns resembles that of the Titan, so I think King is a shrunken form of the Titan, who most likely forgot just about everything about himself, other than that he used to be the King of demons.

image

3) Bat Queen is an ancient palisman, and the only real candidate for her master is the Titan (I can hear pk2317 facepalming right now). The major counterargument is that BQ should have been the size of the city to match the Titan’s size, but since we have magic, I assume she simply shrunk in size. The main issue is the age, not the size, and there is literally nobody else old enough. While we do not know Emperor’s age, the fact that he came to power 50 years ago - within a lifespan of a human or a witch - implies that he is not old enough to be BQ’s owner.

image

4) Rule 2 implies that letters from Lus were sent from the Demon realm since we do not know any characters from Earth other than Camila (who is the recipient) and Luz (who knows not about the letters and is unlikely to misspell her own name). The only known character from the Demon realm who has the means to send letters to Earth (portal) and who knows what to write (from the pamphlet Luz brought with her) and who has a motivation (cares about Luz and wants to cover for her) is Edalyn Clawthorne, the Owl Lady. As for the camp, they could have lost the papers and never expected Luz to show up.

There are some lesser questions, like who is Golden Guard and who wrote Azura books, but I don’t think they have any significance.

I am notoriously bad at predictions. Last time I tried this method to predict Steven Universe I ended up with a theory that Pink Diamond’s shards are buried on the Moonbase, that Bismuth rigged Rose’s sword to specifically target Diamond’s gems, and that Steven’s powers are due to his organic form acting as a secondary incubator to his gem. As you can see, I couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried, so I have very low expectations about my predictions, but I have to make them nevertheless.

Is the heart in Belos’ throne room, really the heart of the Titan? No, I don’t think so

Something that’s been bugging me for awhile is the size of the Titan’s heart, that’s pumping in Belos throne room. There’s far too many inconsistencies which leads me to believe that this ain’t the real heart of the titan.

1. First of all, and most obvious, the heart is far too small for the BI titan. He is supposed to be the size of Vermont according to Dana which is around  24,905 km². A creature with that size, would have a heart that’s kilometers long, since humanoid hearts are usually as big as their fist. And the one in the throne room? Looks barely 20-30 meters.

2. Second of all, the titan has been a skeleton for a long time, before Philip arrived on the isles. His heart would have decayed along with his muscles and other tissue during the Hecktaceous period. So again, it doesn’t make sense that by Belos’ time the heart would still be intact while the rest of the Titan is just bones.

So now, if that isn’t the Titan’s heart, then what is it? Well after “Clouds on the Horizon”, a new piece of info popped up that may answer that question.

In the episode we see Amity trying to fix her tamagochi communicator. We not only get a confirmation that said tamagochis are BI technology but that they use organic parts- namely a heart and what seems to be veins connected to the circuitry. While it’s a bit of mystery what the purpose of the heart is, we can conclude that artificial hearts can just be created.

So why would Belos bother with creating an artificial heart?

Well he uses said heart as an intimidation tactic and propaganda. He says that it is the Titan’s heart and demonstrates that it beats in sync with him during the scene with Lilith. So to his coven and to the people, this lends even more credibility to his connection to the Titan, which we know now to be false. As he demonstrated in “Hollow Mind”, Belos uses all sorts of tricks and illusions to fool people. So for one who is already skilled in flesh magic, aka being able to create Grimwalkers, creating a false “Titan’s heart” with the purpose of intimidation, isn’t a stretch.

TL;DR:Grimwalkers grow rapidly from baby to teen while still in the soil and emerge as teens, with starting age of around 13-14. Then with some calculating, we get an average life span of 21-25 years for the Golden Guards, before they are killed.

For the longest time we couldn’t be sure what this memory painting was depicting. It was either Philip killing a Grim or a Grim being born from the soil.

image

But after the latest episode, we kinda got a confirmation from the Collector that Grimalkers emerge not as babies, but as at least teens.

image

Which would mean that the diagram in the Grimwalker book was depicting how they grow in the soil itself, from babies to adolescents. As suggested by the little tick over the last stage of growth, this is when they would emerge.

image

The implications of this revelation are huge since it means that Hunter and the rest of the Golden Guards never really had a childhood. And Belos was not waiting for them to grow up normally every time (unless they spend over a decade in that soil which I doubt). So we can place a starting age anywhere between 14 and 18+) since Hunter went through training and is a skilled combatant which would take time.

Now if I can finally calculate a more more accurate, albeit still approximate, prediction of the average life span of the Golden Guards (not natural one but at what age most of them were killed).

If we assume that Philip was born during or a little bit before the Connecticut Witch Trials, 1647 to 1663, and he arrived on the BI as an adult at least in his early 30s, we can place his age at around 370+. And as evident from “Elsewhere and Elsewhen” by the time he started looking for the Collector, he was already working on a Grimwalker which means the knife fight with his brother has already happened.

image

So we are looking at around 340 years worth of Grimwalkers.Next we divide by 17, the number of Golden Guard masks we saw in “Hollow Mind”, and we get 20 years. Add those years to their starting age of 14, and we have approximate life span of 32, before they are killed.Ofc that would vary cause some would be killed earlier, some later, depending on when they found out the truth.

Edit: With the release of the finale, we get the horrifying revelation, that there are more GGs than we suspected. While I can’t count them all with certainty, I think there’s around 48 masks in total in the corpse pit, if we look at it from different angles. So that changes the calculations a bit. If we divide the 340 years worth of Grims by 48, we get 7. Adding that to their starting age of 14-18, as I established before, we have an average life span of 21-25 years before they are killed.

image

And as a final note to support this, them dying as adults would also align with the fact that one of them was Darius’ mentor, a position usually occupied by an adult.

Theory 1 (personal favorite): Spying powers demonstrated in S1

In “Agony of a Witch”, in the castle while the kids are trying out the artifacts, suddenly Belos announces that he has observed them. This would imply that he can see everywhere in the castle, which spells trouble for the rebellion.

image

As we saw from “Them’s the Breaks, Kid”, Darius, Raine and Eber have been creating their plan and exchanging information while in said castle which would provide ample opportunity for Belos to observe them.

image

Plus there’s another aspect to this as well. As we know from “Yesterday’s Lie”, being in the in-between where the Collector is currently imprisoned, gives one the ability to spy using any reflective surface.

So there’s a very real possibility that Belos’ arrangement with the Collector also includes espionage using said reflective surfaces, which would mean that nowhere is safe, he has eyes everywhere. Including the artifact room, one full with reflective surfaces like mirrors and where we first saw example of Belos’ spying non-corporeally.

And curious as well, are Hunter’s words in “Hollow Mind”,

I heard whispers of an attempt to invade the Emperor’s mind with wild magic. I decided to take the villains out myself.

Whether Belos passed down that information or the plan leaked in another way, it’s obvious that the castle, or any place for that matter, aren’t safe places to plan a rebellion.

Theory 2: A mole amongst the CATs

While I’m not the biggest fan of this one, for posterity let’s point out some things.

While some people were wondering between Eber, Darius, Steve and even Lilith, Raine is the one that’s been pointed to the most due to their history with being brainwashed and how active they were at devising the plan.

Despite being confirmed that the brainwashing was thwarted by Raine themselves, we do not know to what extent. Terra’s drugs might not have made Raine loose their memory, but still done something to their mind. And the presence of what looks like a snapdragon flower hanging over the rebellion, may suggest not only the connection between Raine and Eda, but also Terra’s presence.

image
image

Next we have the fact that Raine was the one to reject Darius’ plan, and propose the one that would actually be implemented aka Eda switching places with them and being branded. If Raine is indeed, still under the influence of the brainwashing that would open the possibility for Belos to know of said plan.

And finally, the scene with the most ways it could be interpreted. Is Raine showing regret over the plan? Realizing that last time Eda used the cursed requiem, she almost killed herself for the cause. If Raine has indeed made a deal to keep Eda safe or sth similar, are they realizing what they are actually about to do? Regardless, the show never showing Eda being branded, has the implication that they never went through with it and another plan may be set in motion.

Theory 3: Kings connection to the Collector

Ever since “Edge of the World”, King has had some sort of a connection with the Collector.
First in “O, Titan Where Art Thou” where he saw a glimpse of the Collector’s prison and they felt his presence. Now in “Clouds on the Horizon”, King once again established involuntarily a connection with the Collector, hearing some of their thoughts. While in both instances, the Collector seemed to not be fully aware of King’s presence, there still might be the possibility that the Collector overhears King’s thoughts and surroundings as well. This includes overhearing details about the plan.

image
image

New theory!!

The collector is using anybody to get free and uses the animals or the creature of the witching world for their blood or their powers the owl beast / king’s race/ the palisman / basilisk capturing them and killing them he will use anybody under the sun to get his goals !@

I’m gonna put random toh pics and let the fandom make up a theory based on that … here it goes
