The Babylonian origin goddess Tiamat as depicted by Carolyn Scrace in Gerald Legg’s X-Ray Picture Book of Incredible Creatures. Her scale and configuration here puts me in mind of a GMO or even Mythos biosphere-seeding machine, a kind of monstrous Last Universal Common Ancestor.

Sonunda sekiz yıldır beklenen Anar’ın kitabı çıktı ve heyecanla aldık. Anar’ın okuduğum ilk kitabı Puslu Kıtalar Atlası’ydı. Bana göre muhteşem bir kitap. Bir insanın böyle bir kurgu yapabilmiş olmasına hayret ederim hep. Sonrasında da Efrâsiyâb’ın Hikâyeleri’ni okudum ve Anar’ın Puslu Kıtalar Atlası’ndaki çok sevdiğim dilini bu kitapta da gördüm ve bu kitabı da çok beğendim. Bekleyen okumadığım kitapları olmasına rağmen yeni kitabını öne alıp iki üç günde okudum. Açıkçası ilk 50 60. sayfalardan haydi artık başlayalım meseleye diye merakla bekledim. Dili yine aynıydı, kurgu yine doğa üstü bir olaylar silsilesi üzerineydi ama benim beklentim sanırım çok daha yüksekti. Fazla detaylı betimlemelerin arka arkaya gelmesi okurken biraz yoruyor ve açıkçası usandırıyor. Tahtelbahir gemisinin bir denizaltıya dönüşmesinden sonra olaylar biraz daha akıcı ilerliyor ama ben diğer kitaplarında olduğu gibi bana kahkaha attıran ve abartılı şekilde şaşırtan bir bölüm göremedim maalesef.
