So I want to write some practice essays as preparation for uni next year. I want to be serious about this but I also want to have fun with it. So I thought it’d be fun to write some essays on DC comics!
I’m asking for topic suggestions. They can either be serious (e.g. an in-depth analysis of Bruce Wayne’s character) or not (e.g. an essay on which Justice League member would make the best roomate). Have fun with it!
I’ll do topics on any character, family or anything related to DC comics, really. And I’ll do persuasive, compare and contrast, and close analysis. Either give me the easiest topics or give me a challenge, it’s up to you! Additiionally, it’d be really helpful if you would also suggest what comics, show or movie to watch in order to research into the topic before writing the essay. You don’t have to! But it’d be helpful
Friends invited rex to custom games, he doesn’t do pvp so he redecorated the place with punches and hugged everyone
What if her supersuit comes out of this corset belt like Kom’s came out of her gauntlets? The shape around the hip area is similar.
Thanks for tagging me @ambeauty!
My five favorite fics
in no particular order
No Thanks, No Party Lights: I adored writing this fic because I’m a huge slut for the holiday season. Add my favorite found family, just enough Bat angst (s3, take notes), and Dickkory being caught in the act and there was no way I wasn’t going to have a great time with this one.
Said The Joker To The Thief: my first DK au, I dived in knowing damn well that no power au fics can be hard to get people on board with. But I’d always wanted to write a story about an impromptu road trip to Woodstock and the core four fit perfectly into that scenario. Researching the time period and taking things from Titans canon and twisting them in a way that brought the characters into that world was such a great challenge and learning experience for me. It also contains one of my favorite love scenes I’ve ever written.
The Speedsters Wife: still my most popular Flash fic, I based this on The Time Traveler’s Wife, one of my favorite books at the time. I fully enjoyed playing around with time travel and exploring the point of view of a fiercely loving woman swept up by a lifetime of fantastic if sometimes terrifying and heartbreaking adventures with her meta human husband.
Boy on Fire: My first DK fic as well as my first foray into the ponderous one shots that have more or less become my thing when it comes to them, I based this on the initial promo kiss that got the tl all up in a tizzy. And while not all of it was accurate to what ended up happening in that scene (Dick got her boots off, for one), I still think I did a good job at capturing the beginnings of their unique relationship
A Most Improbable Scenario: My take on E2 Westallen, I truly enjoyed getting into the heads of two characters we only got to know briefly. While I’ve pretty much moved away from first person perspective in my later fics, I think this story is the most fun I’ve had with that writing style by far.
But the next chapter of SITW is definitely shaping up to be my fave so far. The dickkory and core four (plus Tim) goodness I have planned is exactly why I started writing this in the first place.
