So I want to write some practice essays as preparation for uni next year. I want to be serious about this but I also want to have fun with it. So I thought it’d be fun to write some essays on DC comics!
I’m asking for topic suggestions. They can either be serious (e.g. an in-depth analysis of Bruce Wayne’s character) or not (e.g. an essay on which Justice League member would make the best roomate). Have fun with it!
I’ll do topics on any character, family or anything related to DC comics, really. And I’ll do persuasive, compare and contrast, and close analysis. Either give me the easiest topics or give me a challenge, it’s up to you! Additiionally, it’d be really helpful if you would also suggest what comics, show or movie to watch in order to research into the topic before writing the essay. You don’t have to! But it’d be helpful

What is this?
Our very own Ranger Gathering is an event running during June. Every day has its own prompt which you’re free to respond to in whichever way possible, relating to Ranger’s Apprentice, The Early Years, The Royal Ranger and/or Brotherband.
i’m excited to share some of the things i’ve got cooking up the past few weeks and to see what other people have come up with i’m hoping we all have a fun time, regardless of whether or not you participate in creating something, since we can come together for a community event <3
we’ve never done this one before, so there’s a chance there might be some logistical hiccups along the way but im sure we can figure stuff out. again, if you have any questions or thoughts now or later, feel free to let me know (replies, asks, DMs, whatever)
in saying that, i have thought about a few minor things to be addressed
when to post the prompts: mostly thinking about timezones, aka im in aussie time so i’d be posting on the days according to mine, but i know that means i will be a day ahead from the perspective of those in the northern hemisphere. im happy for you to post according to your own timezone. the prompts are also not “due dates” so you can totally post late if you so wish. this is supposed to be chill and laid back :)
posting fic: you don’t have to post on ao3, but for those of you who do, do you think a collection or something would be appropriate? it’s been an age since i’ve used ao3 tbh but i’m wondering if you folks would like a category or whatever to have them all in one place on ao3 (plus your links on tumblr, of course)

There were few who opposed his rule, for the slightest misstep lead to incineration.To him, his power was limitless bounded only by the constraints of fire. Thus, he feared only one thing, water…
Stripped by the fear of a cursed vowel, existed a limitless and bound affection; spoken to be the only counter of the reign of a king of fire, she held the image of water. Like a blue that could be white, her image dominated with purity but only within books on shelves did her name live. For the vowel she spoke, incarcerated her till the day, the convoluted paths of fate, led her into the arms of fire. Perhaps her name was only fairy tale but, as kids within barricaded homes wept into their mothers arms, at least her name was comfort. Learning its path in the wind, the kings boredom struck the town with fear as it heated the empty streets with a sweet aroma of caution - destruction was to be expected. And although the uncertain hope for her name to be engraved in reality was less than a child’s clinging to a playful fairy tale, mothers would rest somewhat easier pretending her existence would amuse the king. On this night of fair warning, only she would know if she could finally fulfil her purpose.
Our challenge for July will be all about summer vacation! You can write or create any content having to do with your favorite pairings enjoying summer break! This could be them spending the summer together before they go back to Hogwarts, or it could be based in completely different muggle AU setting! Just make sure to create content that sparks your creative interest! Any content is welcome that fits the theme!
This challenge is being run by us at the @hprarepairnetand the @slytherdornet, but it is open toanyone that would like to participate. There are a few things you need to keep in mind if you would like to be involved:
These edits can be made for any Slytherin x Gryffindor pairing or any pairing considered rare across the HP fandom.
If you make an edit of a rare-pair that is not between a Slytherin x Gryffindor, only the @hprarepairnet will reblog the edit. The @slytherdornet will only reblog content having to do with Slytherin x Gryffindor pairings.
Make sure to use the appropriate challenge tags and network tags if you want us to see your work for the challenge! Use the general tags #hprarepairnetand#slytherdornet, but also use the challenge specific tags #slytherdornetchallengeand#hprarepairnetchallenge!
Also make sure to specify in the caption of your post that this is for the @hprarepairnet and @slytherdornet summer vacation challenge!
And last but not least, the content you make for these pairings can be graphics, moodboards, aesthetics, one-shots, fanfics, headcanons, etc.

There’s a wide variety of creative content throughout the BNHA fandom, and what better way to celebrate that creativity than to host an event where we all come together to express it freely?! The BNHA Big Bang is a fandom-wide open event for all writers, artists, and any other content creator.
If you’ve never heard of one, a Big Bang is a collaboration between writers and artists that seeks to create amazing content for the fandom. This event will challenge you to write a story with a longer word count by the selected deadline and work together with artists to create fanart, playlists, moodboards, and more for the completed fic!
Participating in the event will earn you a spot in the Big Bang Academia Discord server. This will be everyone’s primary means of communication, so if you don’t have an account but would like to join in on the project, you’ll have to make one!
