goldenfinch:

You know what? I’m just gonna say it, I hate how all of you have been talking about Tony for the line “So was I.” in the Civil War trailer. Yes, Bucky has been Steve’s friend for much longer and if I were in Steve’s place I would probably side with Bucky over Tony, but that is not what I am here to discuss. What I am here to discuss is Tony Stark.

Do you realize what the word “friend” means to Tony? Do you? Before the Avengers Tony had only two friends, and that was Rhodey and Happy. (I’m not counting Pepper because she’s more than a friend, but if you want to, you can.) Tony has grown up very smart and very alone. His father was never there for him, he never had any friends as a child(except Rhodey), and almost everyone in his adult life has only gotten close to him for career or money purposes.

The one other person that Tony had that he probably considered a friend was Obidiah, or he at least considered him to be a father figure. And you know what that jerk did? He left Tony to die in his tower so he could make more money off of Tony’s own company. One of the only people Tony trusted was only ever using him for their own gain.

And so were a lot of other people in Tony’s life. People still are. He’s Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, most people only see him as an opportunity to make more money or to advance. He’s never had the luxury to trust very many people. He’s never had the luxury to have very many friends. The word “friend” has been tainted for him, it’s been used by people to get close to him and(quite literally) tear his heart out.

So for him to call Steve his friend, a man who he hasn’t known for as long as Rhodey or Happy or Pepper, is important. It means that he trusted Steve a whole lot and he felt safe around him, enough to refer to him as something that means a great deal more to Tony than to other people.

So if you are going to say that Tony doesn’t understand Steve and Bucky’s history, or that he doesn’t understand what the word “friend” means, then I’m going to tell you that you don’t understand Tony Stark.

You’re the Spiderman! Pt.1 (P.P Imagine)

Summary : You’re Peter Parker’s best friend and you find out he’s Spiderman. Inspired by the scene where Ned found out about Peter being Spiderman.

It’s a regular school day at the Midtown School of Science and Technology and you’re getting ready for the first period of the day when you see your best friend, Peter Parker, at his locker down the hall.

You and Peter have been best friends since kindergarten when Flash kicked sand in your sandwich and Peter shared his lunch with you.

“Join me and together we shall build my Lego Death Star!”, I say holding a piece over his shoulder. “No way! How many pieces?”, he says, closing his locker and making his way to class.

“Dude, 4000 pieces! You wanna meet at your place after school and get started?”, I ask hopefully. “I’m sorry, I can’t. I have th-” “the Stark Internship”, I interrupt, “I know. Okay! How about this, I’ll get started and I’ll come over later and we can finish it together.”

“Yeah , yeah. Sure”, he replies as he drifts away in his thoughts. Ever since he started this Stark Internship, I barely ever see him anymore. I thought the Lego Death Star would allow me to see more often cause I remember how excited we both were to build it together but even this doesn’t get him away from the internship for a while. But being his best friend, I have to be supportive of his decisions even if I hardly ever get to see I guess.

*Later in the day*

“Mum, I’m leaving!”, I yell as I grab my jacket. “Where are you going?”, she yells in response from the kitchen. “Going to Peter’s”, I tell her. “Okay, don’t be late for dinner honey! And be careful!”. “Okay mum!”, I yell as I make my way out of my house to go to Peter’s house.

I get to Peter’s apartment and knock on the door before letting myself in. Peter and I have been in and out of each other’s houses so often, it’s like we have two homes. But I still knock on the door, out of habit I guess.

“Hey Aunt May!”, I greet her with a smile. “Hi sweetheart”, she says returning the smile, “here for Peter?”, she asks with a cheeky smile. “Erm, yeah. We were supposed to finish our Lego model today.” “I think he’s in his room but I would knock first, you know how he can be about his privacy”, she says making a weird face.

I laugh in response and walk over to Peter’s room. I knock before opening the door to reveal nothing. Peter wasn’t even home. I guess he’s still out at the Stark Internship. Does Aunt May know that Peter isn’t home? I brush it off and start assembling the Logo Death Star.

Time goes by so fast, I don’t even notice it’s dark intil I hear someone open the window.

I look towards the window and notice that someone is opening it from outside. I watch as this person crawls in and closes the window. Once they come into the light I see that this person is Spiderman!

Spiderman is in Peter’s room! Why is he even in Peter’s room? What is he doing here? Is there some kind of emergency? So many thoughts ran through my mind as I see him crawl on the ceiling. Then he removes his mask and drops it on the floor next to me.

My body freezes. Peter is Spiderman! Spiderman is Peter! What is even going on!? I watch his shoot a web at the door closing it slowly before returning to the ground.

The Logo Death Star I’ve been working on for the past couple hours slips out of my hands and collides with the floor. My eyes meet Peter’s anxious eyes as I see the pure shock in his face.

“What was that?”, Aunt May asks from the kitchen. “Erm, nothing!”, Peter stumbles in his shocked state.

“You’re the Spiderman!”

They’re perfect.
