i get that a lotta trendercore stuff stems from like neon/scene/etc core things so bright/flashing colors and an inevitibility and i cant actually like change the whole aesthetic or w/e but oh boy do i have to avoid a lotta trender blogs bc my poor eyes cannot handle that amount of Bright
this post looks Funney HaHa when you glance at it, but now that I think about it trendercore should become more accessible, right? we have to remember that a lot of trumed caricatures involve disabled people, and if we wanna include everyone who is behind hurt by these stereotypes and gatekeeping we need to make it so they can interact and be a part of this too. I propose Neutral Trendercore or maybe even Dark Trendercore for the goths.
trendercore is antithetical to being a transmed - it was created as a direct response to transmeds. you can’t decide to take it for yourself just because you like neon aesthetic and rainbows. it’s not trendercore if you strip it of its core ideas of radical self-love, pride, reclamation of the negative stereotypes that transmeds push about nonbinary/gnc/nondysphoric people and support of our nondyphoric trans siblings. i don’t care if you’re nonbinary and transmed, or gnc and transmed - you don’t get to reclaim the stereotypes about nonbinary/gnc trans people if you support the ideology that further spreads and reinforces them. regardless of how you identify or present, your bigotry has no place in trendercore.

1. a xenogender which reclaims the word “tumblr gender.” similar to trendergender, it was coined for people who are assumed to be faking being transgender for attention. it’s associated with gender nonconforming trans people, non-dysphoric trans people, xenic people, people who use neopronouns, etc.
