Though science marches on, let us not forget the inspiring visions of the creative minds that came before us.

“No Hard Feelings”, 2018

Been working on this for almost 2 months now and I can finally show it off with the reveal of @saurian-game‘s new T. rex design! I’ve loved all the Saurian rex designs, and I’d like to think they don’t take this whole redesign thing personally.

Major props to @grimchild for the Herculean effort he put into this newest rex reconstruction as well as for giving me some help while still putting this piece together.

Please check out the official blogpost from earlier today on all the reasons and work that went into this big, beautiful, purple boi here:

Hey! Not Jurassic Park! I had some time today to make some sparkly, fresh content and I thought I would draw a troodontid since I rarely do that if ever. This one in particular is some undescribed Alaskan troodontid that is mounted at the Perot Museum in Texas. That face likely haunted the nightmares of small Cretaceous mammals.

Also, T. rex was given its sweet-ass name 113 years ago today. Love you bud!

I got a digital art tablet for Christmas and finally decided to try it out today. I’m not rich or smart enough to have Photoshop, so I did this in GIMP.

On a totally unrelated tangent, I am excited for Fallen Kingdom and am trying to go in without too many spoilers.

We’ll see how that goes.

Finally, it’s done! Dinovember Day 30. The conclusion to my take on the Dinovember Powerball challenge! Again, sorry that this one is late. It took a while get finished, and even longer to scan correctly.

The Clash of Kings: ATyrannosaurus rex has pull down a juvenile Alamosaurus, only to be confronted by a hungry Mosasaurus hoffmanni. The two giant predators snarl, hiss and flash their teeth at one another, trying to intimidate one another. Using its fins, the Mosasaurus attempts to clamber onto the shore in order to take the carcass. In response, the T.rex snaps its huge jaws and kicks at its opponent with its great talons. The T.rex will defend its kill fiercely, though the Mosasaurus will not give up so easily either.

I figured I’d end this month on a high note. And since the final day of the challenge called for a dinosaur interacting with a non-dinosaur, I figured I’d cap it all off with a scene featuring my favorite dinosaur and my favorite marine reptile. Considering that there is some evidence to suggest that large mosasaurs lived near the Hell Creek formation, where T.rex roamed, it’s possible that there might have been some interaction between these two animals. They were in all likely-hood very rare, but still it may have happened.

Love it!

TFW the guy that tried to eat you yesterday is wallowing in your favorite mudbank.

Took a small break from Dinovember but we’re back for Day #13.

This was partly inspired by talks on discord of T. rex’s skin, which gave me the idea of T. rex wallowing in mud to cool off. An idea definitely unrepresented in media.
