A Compsognathus fossil, once thought to be discovered carrying an embryo, was later found to be housing the skeleton of a Bavarisaurus lizard that had been swallowed whole.
A while ago I drew a lot of rocks for a magazine feature, and as a wind down from that, I drew some more. The perspective was purposefully not just ‘straight on’, and bloody challenging as a result (you don’t need to know how many drawings were scrapped before I was happy with the poses).

PART 1:

https://zobiez.tumblr.com/post/679558795075239936

It was originally supposed to be in color pencil

However, I think I will redraw it traditionally as a side project

My problem with this is that some of the animals in this poster look way too similar to the references I used and that bothers me

Throws off the consistency

Idk man I really want to redraw it the way it was intended one day

Without worrying about a deadline

Take it anyway- this took so long lmao

I FINALLY finished part 1 of the Evolution of Life poster that I was doing for my class-

it’s been a passion project of mine- I wanted to attempt something like this outside of school, regardless. the history of life on earth has always fascinated me!

This first part shows the transition from simple life to complex life, and the move from sea to land.

I really hurt my hand making this, but I think it was worth it (:

i-draws-dinosaurs:

Ok so, here’s a funky fact: in the early evolution of fish, the claspers (reproductive organs still present in modern sharks) actually began as a genuine third pair of limbs. Sooo what if instead of becoming purely reproductive, the claspers instead developed into full on legs.

Basically what I’m saying here is six-finned fish -> hexapedal early tetrapods -> hexapedal temnospondyls -> hexapodal tiny weirdo arboreal dendrerpetids that develop membranes to glide -> amphibian dragons

they have little grabby hands and spurt venom out of their mouths and they are my precious new babies

Drinking Chocolate originated in Mesoamerica and was even used as currency by the Maya!

Prehistoric Planet episode 2 is SO GOOD! My wife, who cares very little for dinosaurs, fell in love with Mononykus. Honestly, I can’t blame her.

Prehistoric Planet Episode 4 - Ice Worlds

This was my favorite episode so far, what with the goofy bandit Ornithomimus, adorable baby Olorotitans, and the awesome Pachyrhinosaurus/Nanuqsaurus standoff. The real star of the show, however, was the Pyromaniac Troodontid.

Some paleoart I did for my new job of one of my favourite dinos, P. lakustai!

[ID. A digitally painted profile of the face of Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai, a ceratopsian with a large boss above it’s nose and a smaller boss above its eye, and a single “unicorn” spike on the middle portion of its frill. It is illustrated in browns with some darker stripes and an eyespot on the frill.

The skull used for reference is illustrated in flat black and white in the background and is overlain with the text: “Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai/Lakusta’s Thick-Nosed reptile from Pipestone Creek, Grande Prairie”.  END]
