picturing post-canon wei wuxian in a forest clearing somewhere veritably drowning in rich & lavish fabrics because he got cold on a joint nighthunt and lan wangji & jiang cheng immediately competed to see who could be the first to give him their outer robe, and then he had to wear both of them so as not to hurt anyone’s widdle feewings

#literally he gives a little shiver and immediately they both start stripping #lan wangji practically hurls his belt at the nearest lan junior #jiang cheng’s disciples are more practiced with him dramatically removing items of clothing for drama purposes #(think the cape after the fake duel) #so as soon as they cotton on they rush over to him and start working on the fiddly bits. like a quick costume change backstage #they’ve probably practiced #jiang cheng wins but honestly it’s only because he just throws the robe on top of wei wuxian instead of trying to hand it to him nicely #unlike some LOSERS i could mention #then lan wangji and jiang cheng spend the rest of the hike back glaring at each other and surreptitiously adjusting the bundle of fabric #under which wei wuxian is presumably buried #so that more white or purple‚ respectively‚ is visible #lan wangji is at the advantage there because obviously the last article of clothing to go on is gonna be the most visible #so they both have something to feel smug about and something to be grumpy about#wei wuxian is just like actually yes i CAN make everybody happy!#yeah okay so everybody might also be mad at the same time. but still! (via op)

#the alternative is that lan wangji wins easily because wei wuxian has already invented breakaway technology for bedroom reasons #and mister horny second jade just wears it around all the time because you never know when you’re going to find yourself #with a couple spare minutes to rail your husband right? always be prepared to get naked very quickly is this guy’s motto #so in the forest on this nighthunt when he sees jiang cheng going for the Provider of Warmth accolades #he just grabs the front of his own robe and TEARS it off his body in one fell swoop #that’ll show HIM. unfortunately the unexpected downside is that wangxian are having a very pavlovian reaction to the sound of the #snaps unsnapping #and there are like Youths in the vicinity and also jiang cheng. so they can’t go at it immediately like they are used to doing #when they hear that sound #so yes in this scenario lan wangji wins…but at what cost #there are some very inconvenient boners happening here #but it did make jiang cheng cranky which is one of lan wangji’s major food groups. so maybe it’s a wash(viahowdydowdy)

I love the idea of Jin Ling being independently wealthy because of the sheer number of times he has been paid for his silence. A-Yao loses Jin Ling in the market for 5 minutes, and after he finds him, is just like “don’t tell your Jiujiu” and gives him money. When Jin Ling hears Jiang Cheng cursing one day and starts repeating him, Jiang Cheng has to write out 2 checks, one so that Jin Ling doesn’t say those words again, at least until he’s older, and another so that if his xiao shushu asks, he didn’t learn those words from Jiang Cheng.

Most fun part of the yin iron arc is that Wei Wuxian is under the impression that Lan Wangji doesn’t like him while Lan Wangji (who has never done anything he didn’t want to do with anyone he didn’t like) is fully permitting himself to be towed around by a bouncy ball who loves solving crimes

Wei Wuxian: Lan Zhan thinks I’m annoying and wishes I wasn’t here but I’ve tracked him down and now he HAS to solve this mystery with me!!!

Lan Wangji, second young master extraordinaire who could absolutely escape at any time, unconvincingly: mn………. yes…………… you caught me………… I am powerless to change this situation in any way………..

Requested by anonymous: Can I request Lan Xichen x fem!reader where the two have a huge crush on each other but are completely oblivious to it. And the rest of the gang just ships the two and sets them up. Thanks. Love your stories ☺️

Pairing: Lan Xichen x reader

Word Count: 1874 words

Warnings: don’t think so

A/N Once again, sorry for the long wait, hope you like it :)

You stood in the doorway of the class as you stared as you noticed that Xichen and Qiren were talking, not sure if it was okay to enter.

“Why are you waiting?” Huaisang asked and you shushed him softly, making him peek in.

“Oh… I’m sure it’s fine, jie/ge.” He spoke and you looked back, seeing that the Jiang siblings had joined as well, including Wuxian who was smirking ominously.

“Eldest first, jie/ge.” He said before softly pushing you inside. You being you though, tripped on the carpet and crashed to ground with an extremely loud thud. The 2 males stopped talking, turning to look at you. Lan Qiren gave a disapproving look while Xichen just stared at you with a small smile, something only your friends behind you noticed while you were completely oblivious as you tried to get up and ignore the embarrassment that took over your mind.

“I’m so sorry.” You apologized, bowing at them only for Xichen to pull you up gently.

“Don’t worry about it, (y/n).” He said, giving you a smile once more before walking out. You watched as he left, a bit heart-eyed almost before snapping out when your friends called your name.

“Oh, someone’s in love~” Wuxian teased and you looked at him, pouting slightly.

“I’m not in love with him…” “Lying isn’t allowed.” Lan Zhan walked by and your eyes followed him in shock, your mouth slightly open of shock. The one time that Lan Zhan decided to talk to you properly, yet he decided to diss you. Wuxian let out a loud laugh before running to catch up to Lan Zhan, sitting beside him (much to the distaste of Lan Zhan and Lan Qiren). The rets of you entered and the lesson started.

-

Xichen watched as you exited the lesson, smiling as he saw you. Meng Yao, who was talking to Xichen, had noticed that Xichen had stopped listening and followed his gaze to see you. Meng Yao had long know that Xichen had a soft-spot for you, but now realized that his best friend had fallen for you.

Xichen then turned back to Meng Yao, talking once more about the previous subject, but Meng Yao was quick to notice that you too were glancing at Xichen every once in awhile.

And then there was yet another person that knew while you two stayed completely oblivious.

-

You were confused by the empty field in front of you. Wuxian had begged you to come tonight as he and the rest were going to sneak out to the village, yet here you stood. All alone.

“I’m going to kill him…” You growled, crouching down and sighing lightly.

“Please don’t do so on the sacred ground.” Someone commented and you looked up, seeing Xichen. You immediatley got up, straightening your back and giving an awkward smile.

“I don’t suppose that you’ve seen A-Yao?” He asked and you shook your head. Silence took over, but Xichen broke it pretty soon after.

“So, who are you waiting for?” “Wuxian and the rest, but I have a feeling that they didn’t plan to show up to begin with.” You mumbled, sniffing as you wrapped your arms around you because of the cold.

“You should go back to your room.” He spoke and you nodded before looking around, noticing that it had become even darker than before.

“Come on, I’ll walk you back.” He said and you nodded, following him as you walked back. As he walked, he took pretty big steps, which was the reason why you were now walking behind him at almost an arm length away. So you started walking faster.

And then you tripped…

To say you were embarrassed, was a very big understatement. Your face was flushed as you got back up, especially when Xichen took your arm and pulled you up slightly.

“Are you alright?” He asked and you gave a nod, brushing off your clothes with a smile hiss as you noticed the scrapes on your hands. You quickly hid your hands from his view before following him once more, although he seemed to be walking slower this time.

Once you reached your room, you turned around to face him and smiled as you bowed your head.

“Thank you for walking me.” You said before walking in, flinching when you saw your friends all sitting on your bed, staring at you like meerkats. The door behind you closed, slamming shut as they continued to stare.

“You guys… have still not noticed each others feelings?” Wuxian finally spoke up and you frowned, grabbing a pillow from next to you and throwing it at his face, but he dogged it professionally before pouting.

“How oblivious can you be?!” He whined, throwing himself back on the bed overdramatically.

“What feelings?” You asked as you sat down next to Yanli, who just gave you a small smile.

“You’re stupid.” Jiang Cheng spoke and you glared at him, hand grabbing the pillow next to you.

“Don’t you dare throw that.” He stated, staring at you and you pouted, putting the pillow back down.

After a few minutes, they left (except for Yanli of course) and you laid down. You could help but remember what the boys had said earlier and hence you couldn’t sleep.

-

Once more, you sighed as your friends (aka Wuxian) kept teasing you when Xichen looked towards you. You didn’t know why, but every now and then Xichen would look towards you and smile for a few seconds before looking away again. The lesson was still going, although you were barely paying attention at all and rather trying in all your might to not hit Wuxian as he teased you.

“Oh, look! Your crush has arrived~” Wuxian teased and you turned your head slightly, watching as Xichen walked in. You once again felt your face heat up, looking at your desk. You were slightly embarrassed, hating the fact that Wuxian was absolutely right about your awkward crush behavior. You felt Wuxian poke you as well as Huaisang’s giggling, making you let out a small groan before laying your head on the small table in front of you. You once again didn’t notice the eyes on you, nor the small smile that settled on Xichen’s face. When you looked up again, Xichen had long looked away from you and you stared at him for a few seconds before flinching when your eyes suddenly connected. You looked at your lap for awhile before looking up again, only to see that he was still looking at you. Your face heated up even more as Xichen finally looked away after a few seconds of eye contact, but this time you did notice the small smirk that he wore.

“See? He likesyou~” Wuxian sang and you grabbed your book and smashed it against his head, creating a loud thud. Wuxian gave you a small glare, mumbling a ‘I’ll get you back’ before pouting slightly.

-

You entered the library, a few books in your hands that you were going to return. You put some books back before noticing someone on the other side of the room. You looked past the bookshelves and saw Xichen, most likely reading or writing something important. Like magic, Xichen looked up from the papers and noticed you peeping from behind the bookshelves. Your eyes widened as you quickly hid behind the shelve again with a small squeak. Then another squeak when suddenly the door behind you slammed shut. You turned, seeing a silhouette of Wuxian dash away and you groaned, immediatley knowing that you were locked in. But just to be sure, you got closer to the door and tried to pull it open.

Nope, it was definitely stuck. How, you didn’t know. Then again, Wuxian was able to get miracles done so this was probably nothing.

“Something wrong?” Xichen was suddenly standing behind you, making you jump in surprise.

“The door is stuck…” You mumbled, looking down at the ground as you talked. Xichen gave a small frown, trying to open the door as well and sighing when it did indeed not open.

“This hasn’t happened before.” “Well, you didn’t have Wuxian before so…” You mumbled, earning a small chuckle from Xichen.

“I guess your right. I suppose that he has a purpose for this?” He asked and you shrugged.

“I guess… Your guess is as good as mine.” You mumbled before walking past him to continue putting your books away. Xichen mad his way back to his previous seat.

Once you were finished, you sat in a seat near Xichen and awkwardly sat there in silence. Watching Xichen, you just continued to sit. But Xichen once again, magically, looked up and looked back at you before closing his book.

“Do you need anything?” “No, don’t worry. I just spaced out a little.” You lied, looking away from him.

“You seem to do that a lot around me.” He stated, making you gulp and turning to look at him again.

“I-” You stopped talking immediatley as you saw the small smile on his face. You felt your face heat up again, watching as he got up and sat next to you instead. He opened the book once again, reading and you looked at him in confusion. He didn’t say anything and you thought about it for a few seconds before scooting closer and reading with him. Cultivating methods… Not really your thing, but you decided it was better than nothing.

-

Xichen stopped reading once he felt a sudden weight dropping on his shoulder. He looked up from the book and turned his head softly to look at you. He smiled, closing the book again and then your eyes opened. You looked at him sleepily before snuggling into his chest. He couldn’t help but smile even more, softly putting his arms around you and pulling closer. You opened your eyes again, looking at him before suddenly waking up and getting out of his grip while leaning back a bit.

“Sorry…” You apologized, bowing your head in apology as you awkwardly shuffled a bit away. Xichen didn’t move, but only pulled you closer to him again.

“Sleep if you’re tired, I don’t mind.” He said and you looked up at him, hearing his heart beating in his chest with your own beating at the same beat.

“I don’t think this is appropriate for friends…” You mumbled, but Xichen didn’t move his arm from around you. He looked at you, smiling slightly before softly removing a stray hair out of your face. Once again, you heated up as he stared at you.

“Kiss!!!!!” Someone suddenly yelled, making you jump up and turn your head to face the door. Wuxian’s head was peeking through the crack of the door, staring intensely at the two of you. You took a random book and chucked it towards him, which he dodged easily (he did it twice every lesson at least, so this wasn’t unexpected).

Once he was gone, the room grew silent once more. Then you could hear Xichen shuffling to stand up and he stood beside you.

“Wei-shixiong is very adamant, I must say.” He said and you nodded. He placed his hand on your shoulder and you looked at him only to slightly lean back when you felt his lips pressed against your forehead.

“I’ll talk to you later.” And with that, he left the room while you continued to stand in the middle of the room in absolute shock.

A/N Sorry for the long wait, school isn’t helping and I’m working on my end-work, which is basically lab stuff that I need to really concentrate on at certain times cause otherwise I might end up in hospital, so I didn’t write for like a week at least just to take care of the first part of lab. Anyway, stopping my rant there, because otherwise this will be longer than the actual story, hope you enjoy!

You ran like hell, ignoring the throbbing pain in your abdomen and head. You could only stay human for a limited time when wounded, so you had to run now, because once changed you were doomed. You could hear the people behind you fading into the distance and that’s when you crashed to the ground, leaning against a tree before feeling your bones crack.

After a lot of changes, like changing of your bones and fur growing, you were now much lower to the ground. You were still laid against the tree, whining slightly as your vocal cords where now limited to dog sounds. You were now in your dog form, a small pup with medium long (h/c) fur and two shiny (e/c) eyes. And with that you waited, hoping your body would heal itself quick enough. Although, the poison that seeped in through your wound and into your blood stream might make it take longer.

-

Jiang Cheng groaned at his loud brother’s loud antics, being so close to just hitting the hilt on his sword against Wuxian’s head just for some peace and quiet.

Like usual, he started to cancel out Wuxian’s loud blabbering and instead started to hear soft whining not so far from him. He looked around, eyes scanning over the ground before stopping at some creature. He shushed Wuxian, who looked at him in confusion but followed to instructions once he saw how cautious Jiang Cheng had become, before slowly creeping over to the creature, sighing when he saw it was just a dog. Although that relief soon disappeared once he notices the blood that seeped through the fur of said creature, worry taking over instead. He got closer to the dog, crouching and slowly holding his hand out to the dog. The dog responded by pushing its head into his hand, whining even more. Jiang Cheng looked at his gown, ripping a part of it and tying it around the wound so it would stop bleeding so heavily. Then he picked it up, holding it closely to his body when he noticed that the dog was shivering. With that, he returned to his brother again and shushing him when Wuxian shrieked loudly.

“It’s a pup, it won’t hurt you. And I won’t keep it, alright? Once healed, It’ll run off anyway.” He stated and Wuxian seemingly relaxed slightly at that comment, but still kept his distance anyway. The brothers then continued to walk home, now a little faster than before, and Jiang Cheng walked to his room once he arrived, ignoring his mothers presence. He entered his room, laying the pup on his bed before grabbing a wet cloth and cleaning the wound. Although the dog whined loudly, it didn’t move or give any sign of protest except for the whining.

Once the wound was cleaned, he wrapped some bandages around the wound before softly patting the pup softly. The pup whined again softly, but pushed its head into Jiang Cheng hand instead. Jiang Cheng chuckled before smiling when the pup got up and placed itself on his lap.

-

You couldn’t help but closer to the man, the warmth from his body making you feel safer and warmer. You shut your eyes, ignoring the throbbing in your side as he patted your head softly. He was talking softly, but you didn’t hear what he said as you started to fall asleep. You couldn’t really believe that you were now putting your trust into this random human, who you didn’t even know the name of.

Yet you slept fine, only waking back up when your stomach started grumbling. So you wandered around, still in hound form, to find the mystery man.

“While hello!” Someone said and you were suddenly lifted into someone’s arms, making you yelp in surprise before turning your head to look at the culprit. It was a woman, who was smiling brightly at you. She seemed nice enough, but you weren’t a fan of being held up by strangers and you started to wriggle around. She seemed to get the hint and put you back down on the ground. You took the opportunity and dashed off once again, looking for the man once more. You followed sounds only and after 3 more minutes, you finally found him. You let out a loud bark before jumping up on the chair and then table, tail slightly wagging. Jiang Cheng turned around, a smile appearing on his face as he stepped closer and crouched to match your height. And for a minute or so, you just stared at each other. Then you looked away, feeling slightly embarrassed as you turned around, looking around the room. It was nice, shades of purples hanging around the room with lotus logo’s on them which were probably handstitched on. You hopped off the table and started to explore the room before hopping onto a chair that was shaped like a flower and laying down comfortably, still looking at the man.

“Jiang Cheng, that pup is yours?” A woman entered and you recognized her from earlier, raising your head slowly to somewhat acknowledge her presence as she came closer once again to pet you. You let her, but your eyes still stayed on Jiang Cheng as you waited for a reaction. No reaction though, not really what you wanted. And like a miracle, he seemingly read your mouth and came closer to scratch you as well before he picked you up once again to looking at your wound.

“It’s already healed, that’s good.” He commented before cradling you in his arms like a baby and scratching your stomach softly. He smiled softly and you felt your heart skip a beat. Yeah, you weren’t leaving his side any time soon.

-

You were in cloud recesses, walking behind the troubling trio with Yanli beside you. Wuxian and Huaisang were talking loudly, something the Lan disciplines (or more like Lan Qiren) were annoyed by, and Yanli was talking to you although your eyes were trained on Jiang Cheng. You had already befriended the man weeks ago, now in your human form of course, and you basically followed like a lovesick puppy.

This was something Huaisang had said once when Jiang Cheng had disappeared and you looked extremely lost until Jiang Cheng had returned, and now he always tended to call you pup around Jiang Cheng which would make you extremely embarrassed (and Jiang Cheng really confused).

“(Y/n), watch out.” Someone exclaimed and you snapped out of your daze to see a beam right in front of you with Jiang Cheng’s hand in front of your forehead.

“Ah… Sorry.” You chuckled awkwardly, looking away awkwardly as your face heated up slightly.

“Just watch where your going.” Jiang Cheng spoke in a soft tone and you nodded, smiling at him. Everyone continued walking, but now Jiang Cheng walked beside you. You debated it in your head before you slowly took his hand and intertwined his fingers with yours, which was covered completely by your long sleeves. You could see that he was surprised at first, but he didn’t make any comment or any movement to take his hand away from yours. His face and ears had slightly turned slightly pink and you smiled proudly, feeling giddy and happy.

-

Fire surrounded you, your clothes burned on the bottom as your ran through Gusu. You tried following the rest of the members, but you couldn’t help but turn ro face the Wen members that were chasing you. You looked behind you again, your eyes connecting with Jiang Cheng. Ignoring the confusion and worry in his eyes, you turned back around as your bones started to crack and shift.

Soon you stood on all fours, your height now closer to 2 meters. Your eyes were now glowing in a bright red as you growled at the Wen members, your teeth bared. The Wen members stopped, staring at you in shock and fear as their weapons dropped to the ground. You growled even louder before barking loudly, which made the Wen members run off (and one even fainted). You huffed, turning away from them and facing the others again. Most looked terrified and you laid on the ground, whining slightly. Normally you’d just change back into a human, but your clothes had ripped when you changed so that wasn’t really an option. On the other hand, you could change into your real form, aka you small hound form, but in no way did you want to right now. Not in front of Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng was the first to unfreeze from shock before he slowly approached you, although he still looked uncertain to approach a giant hound. You raised your head slightly, looking at him and he put his hand on your head before pulling his outer robe off and placing it over you. You took the chance to change back, your body now aching as you pulled the clothes closer to your body.

“Thanks.” Your voice cracked slightly as you tried to ignore the tears that threatened to fall down.

“Are you alright?” He questioned and you looked up at him through your lashes before nodding slowly. You were shivering slightly, feeling your body heat up which probably meant that you were getting sick.

You didn’t really get the chance to say anything else as you heard screaming once again, seeing another horde of Wen members approaching. You groaned, trying to get up to change once more but before you could get up completely, Jiang Cheng had already lifted you in his arms and ran away.

“What are you doing?!” “Not letting you be stupid.” He replied as he hid from the Wen members in the grooves between the rocks, laying you down softly and looking out to check.

“Well, there gone now…” He whispered and you chuckled. “Then why are you whispering?” You replied in your own whisper and he gave you a deadpan look, making you smile brightly. He sat down, looking at you and not saying anything. You looked away awkwardly, silence taking over.

“So, what are you?” He asked and you looked over, staring at him for a few seconds before looking down at your feet.

“Demon…” You said before flinching as you felt your body grow tired, a shiver running down your spine. You needed to change again to regain energy.

“Also, sorry.” You quickly said before once more your bones cracked loudly, popping before you were once again a hound. This time though, it was your small version, which Jiang Cheng immediately recognized.

“You’ve got to be kidding…” He groaned, leaning his head back with closed eyes before turning his head to look at you again. He noticed that you were shivering slightly and sat closer, lifting your form and holding you closer to himself. You gave a happy Yelp, nestling your head into his chest.

Once everything had settled down, you both left and Jiang Cheng tried to find everyone while you continued to stay in his arms, too content to leave.

“Yah, why did you bring a dog again?!” Wuxian’s voice reached your eyes and you looked sideways, still not removing your head form Jiang Cheng’s chest. You couldn’t help the thoughts that suddenly crossed your mind as Wuxian continued to whine.

So you followed your thoughts, quickly changing back to human and clinging to Jiang Cheng as you glared at Wuxian, who was now looking shocked. Jiang Cheng on the other hand, looked perfectly fine with suddenly carrying a human as he looked at you. You turned your head to face him and, as cliché as it sounds, you were suddenly extremely close with noses touching. And you didn’t think of it as you placed a short kiss on his lips before realizing what you had done, changing back into dog form out of embarrassment. Jiang Cheng quickly reacted to catch you again while ignoring the blush that had obviously formed on his own face.

Wuxian was now yelling something as Huaisang joined, but you didn’t hear anything as you were too focused on the soft kiss that was placed on your head and the loud thumping of Jiang Cheng’s heart.

-

You smiled brightly as you spotted Jiang Cheng entering your room. Your tail started wagging as you quickly ran to him and changed once you were near, only to engulf him into an extremely tight hug. He reacted by wrapping an arm around your waist, the other still holding something else.

“What are you holding?” “Food, now can you let go now?” He asked and you pouted, looking at him with a small smirk. You then let go, hands immediately grasping at the food he carried. Jiang Cheng chuckled as he held it above his head, smirking down at you. You gave him a glare before kissing him. He reacted to the kiss, lowering his arm and you broke the kiss to grab the food. You ran off to another corner of your room (while grabbing something to cover your very naked form), blowing him a kiss as you started to eat.

Jiang Cheng just smiled stupidly, staring at your figure before following you and trying to catch up.

“Give me some too!” He exclaimed and you turned, one in your mouth as you held the others behind you protectively. Jiang Cheng gave you a glare before pulling you closer and snatching the one from your mouth, biting half of it off before continuing to walk and leaving you stunned. Once you got out of your trance, you let out a loud yell and ran after Jiang Cheng again. After a minute, you catched up again and looking at him with a smile.

“I love you~” You said, smiling brightly and he smiled back, kissing your forehead softly before replying with an “I love you too”.

Pairing: Jiang Cheng x reader

Word Count: 1702 words

Warnings:angst, gore and death, there are mentions of physical and mental abuse

A/N Sorry for the long wait, hope you guys like it

You didn’t expect to fall in love with someone in the first second that you stepped foot in the cloud recesses. But how couldn’t you, Jiang Cheng was an ethereal being in your eyes. Hell, he was hot and you liked his sarcasm so all of this seemed like positives things to you. That being said, the feeling didn’t feel mutual as Jiang Cheng usually acted cold and awkward around you or just ignored you when you tried to talk to him. Then again, you were not one for giving up.

You remembered the first time you talked to him, you had tripped right in front of him before proceeding to have a bloody nose (anime-style) right after he asked you if you were okay.

So by all means were you sticking by him and soon enough, he opened up to you and revealed that he liked you just as much as you liked him.

So soon enough, aka 4 months later, he had asked you to marry him and of course you said yes.

“A-Ying, quit it!” You were pulled out of your thoughts and looked up to see Wuxian clinging to Jiang Cheng, while the younger tried to desperately get the prankster off of him. You chuckled as you watched the pair, Yanli doing the same next to you.

“(y/n)! Someone wants to see you.” One of your fellow clan members called and you nodded, getting up and brushing off your clothes. You quickly kissed Jiang Cheng’s cheek before making your way back to the building behind you. You followed your clan member until you reached a room that was separated from the main building. You entered and got greeted by Wen Chao.

You frowned slightly, knowing well enough that he was not someone to be friendly and Jiang Cheng had told you enough to know that this guy was also an absolute ass. He just gave you a smirk as he came closer to you, his hand grabbing your hair softly as he walked around you.

“Can I help you?” You asked, your voice slightly breaking at the end as his finger glided over your neck, sending uncomfortable shivers down your spine. You flinched away from his touch slightly, but let out a squeak when he suddenly pulled you back by your hair.

“Marry me.” He stated and you frowned, snapping your head so you were facing him.

‘I’m already engaged and I don’t even know you.“ You said as you turned around completely after he had let go of your hair by now. He didn’t seem to care much as he scoffed.

"Do I look like I care? You will marry me.” He stated and you scoffed in return.

“You’re crazy!” You sneered, walking towards the door only to be stopped by Wen Chao once again. You tried to get out of his grip, but stopped once you heard whimpering before someone was thrown inside. You looked down before noticing that it was your friend, a girl that was always by you after being assigned as a sort of maid for you. Her eyes connected to yours in a sort of plead, but that disappeared as a sword slashed through her neck, her body crashing to the ground with a loud thud as her blood pooled around her.

You watched in horror, fighting off a scream as you were once again pulled back by your hair as well.

“Unless you want your other loved ones to end up like that, I suggest you listen.” He sneered and you nodded, tears already streaming down your face in fear. You were basically paralyzed as you couldn’t help but see every single person you loved in her place with Jiang Cheng as last.

“Great that we are on the same page.” He said, his face getting closer to your neck. You tried to ignore the shivers that once again ran down your spine, screwing your eyes shut.

Minutes later, you were in your room. You were sitting against your door, trying to hold in your sobs in while also trying to forget the image of your friends body. You didn’t want to risk it, you couldn’t lose others. You wouldn’t wait for someone else to notice, because how much more lives would that take?

You didn’t know how long you stayed in your room as you stared at the wall in front of you, but you were pulled out of your trance when you heard someone knock and called your name. You sighed, standing up and quickly going to your mirror while yelling 'I’m dressing myself, just a second!’ as you tried to hide your red eyes slightly with some make-up. You then quickly drank some water, hoping it would hide your broken voice enough for the rest of the conversation.

Then you made your way to the door and pulling it open, trying to not show any emotion. In front of you stood Jiang Cheng, looking slightly worried about you.

“Yes?” You asked, watching as Jiang Cheng frowned. “What’s your problem?” He asked, clearly annoyed. You bit the inside of your cheek as you tried to hold in your emotions.

“Nothing, I just don’t want to see you.” You replied and he scoffed.

“Why?” “Because I hate you. Is that so difficult to understand?” You growled, turning away from him in fake annoyance. You blinked once and quickly wiped away the tear that fell down your cheek, pretending to get some hair out of your face. You glanced at him through the mirror, seeing his eyes reflecting pain and sadness. You ignored the pang of guilt and sighed.

“Hate me?” You could hear a slight crack in his voice as he said that and you turned around again.

“Yes. Do you think I want to marry you? I’m only doing so because of your stance in the world. I’m a nobody, so I’ll marry into a richer and more important family. But I’m so sick of your annoying ass whining and pretending like your not an ass.” You ranted, hating the lies coming from your mouth as you watched his face fall. He didn’t say anything and you turned once more with your back to him.

“I don’t love you and I never will, so let’s top pretending now. I’ve found someone better, so this engagement is off.” You took the ring from your finger and held it out behind you.

“Keep it.” He sneered as he walked away, slamming the door behind him as he left, making you flinch slightly. Although you probably shouldn’t, you couldn’t help but hold the ring to your chest as you crashed to the ground. You let your tears stream down again, not caring about the open door behind you anymore. Of course you didn’t notice that Jiang Cheng had stopped halfway and could still hear and see you.

-

You sighed as one of your maids put on your hair in a beautiful hairstyle, filling it with beautiful golden ornaments like flowers and even a dagger like one at the back of your hair. You wore a beautiful wedding gown (kinda like the one Yanli wore) and normally, you would feel amazing. But now, you looked at yourself and just loathed everything you saw because you weren’t marrying him.

You weren’t marrying Jiang Cheng.

It didn’t take much longer for someone to escort you out of your room and to the hall, covering your head with a red veil. Although this didn’t last long. You could feel the veil being ripped off as you were pulled back into someone’s arms. You couldn’t look back, but the purple clothes gave away who was holding you as well as the familiar blade that was held out to protect both you and him.

You were unable to pay attention to the battle and instead focused on Jiang Cheng’s face. He looked angry to say the least, glaring towards Wen Chao. It happened in a few minutes, the battle was over with only Wen Chao still standing as well as Wen Ning and Wen Qing, but they were on your side.

This is when Jiang Cheng let go of you, marching towards Wen Chao with a menacing glare. His sword is clutched in his hand, knuckles turned white as he lifted the sword to Wen Chao’s neck. Wen Chao was held down by two guards and he tried to resist as the sword was pressed against his neck.

“How dare you?” Wen Chao sneered, spitting at Jiang Cheng’s feet. Jiang Cheng scoffed, looking at you as his eyes softened slightly.

“Did he touch you?” He asked and although you wanted to lie, but you couldn’t stop yourself from nodding.

The memories of all the times that you were hit, how many times you had been told that you were never good enough and that you deserved everything that happened.

It only took a second for Jiang Cheng to lung the sword into Wen Chao’s leg, glaring at him with a passion. Wen Chao let out a scream of pain as the sword turned in his leg as Jiang Cheng leaned closer to the man.

“I will make you suffer for threatening and hurting her.” He sneered before pushing the sword deeper in Wen Chao’s leg. He then left after pulling the sword out and signaling his clan members to carry Wen Chao away. He pulled you with him out of the hall, only stopping when far enough. You were forced into a tight hug, but nonetheless you hugged him back tightly.

“I’m sorry that I waited so long.” He said, pulling away from the hug to place his hands on your face. You sniffed, tears once again rolling down your face.

“I’m sorry…” You said, sobbing slightly. He wiped your tears from your face before kissing your forehead.

“You were brave.” He said, hands dropping from your face to your shoulders. This is when he noticed a few more fading bruises on your jaw and his own jaw clenched in anger. You immediately grabbed his hand in your own to calm him down, giving him a small smile.

“Thank you for being amazing…” You said, kissing the inside of his hand softly before looking down. He lifted your head and laid a soft kiss on your lips. And with that, he brought you back to Lotus pier.

To your home.

Your eyes were closing slowly, your whole body tired from the constant training you had to go through. Wen Ning was beside you, completely oblivious to your exhaustion as he drank from his water flask before offering it to you. You took it, taking a big swig from the flask before handing it back.

“Since when do you practice sword fighting so much.” You asked the younger and he looked at you, smiling brightly.

“Wuxian-ge taught me!” He said happily and you frowned.

“Who?” “Ah, Wei Wuxian-ge.” He explained and your eyes widened.

“Wei?” You asked and he nodded, a pout forming on his face in confusion. “Do you know him?” He asked and you nodded softly, but not continuing the conversation any further than that.

-

Wuxian sighed, twirling his sword in his hand as he held onto the letter, reading it slowly before freezing on the spot as he read the first sentence.

“What are you doing?” Jiang Cheng said, pushing his brothers shoulder softly before looking at the letter.

“Who’s is that?” “I have a sister…” He mumbled, still staring at the letter with a slight smile now.

“You have a what now?” Jiang Cheng asked again and Wuxian smiled more brightly, looking at his brother.

“I have to go! See you later!” He exclaimed, running off and leaving a confused Jiang Cheng behind.

Wei Wuxian ran into his room, grabbed his bag and filled it with some stuff before racing back out of his room and out of Lotus Pier, only receiving glances from his youngers and some even snickered, thinking that he was pulling some shenanigan’s once again.

By horse, it only took him 5 days to get there and soon enough he was standing at the gates, Wen Qing smiling slightly as she had just returned from something with a bag in her hands.

“You should’ve told us you were coming. Wen Ning wouldn’t shut up about you.” She spoke and Wuxian smiled back brightly as he dismounted his horse.

“Well, I wasn’t going to wait after finding out I have a sister.” He said, smile brightening once more as he walked inside by Wen Qing’s side. It was only 3 minutes when Wen Qing suddenly paused, her eyes moving to a figure in the distance. Wuxian followed her gaze and it landed on a girl in black and red clothes, much like himself. He couldn’t help but stare, feeling like he knew her from somewhere.

The girl was held back by two men as another woman in purple was screaming in her face before slapping the girl. The girl lunged to the side, but the 2 men that held her up pulled her back. She was basically hanging down in their arms, glaring at the woman in purple before being slapped once again.

Wei Wuxian didn’t know why, but he felt anger bubble up in his chest. Wen Qing noticed, but didn’t seem to care as she was already marching towards the 4. Wuxian followed her, the yelling becoming more clear before he watched Wen Qing glare at the guards, making them let go of the girl.

-

You felt your knees buckle from underneath you as the guards let go of yours arms, but you didn’t hit the ground as someone helped you back up. You looked up, seeing a man with long black hair and black and red robes much like you. You stared at him for a few seconds before standing on your own and letting go of his arms. He gave you a small smile before looking at Wen Qing, who was glaring at Wang Lingjiao with a passion.

“Don’t touch her.” She said before turning to you, ignoring Lingjiao’s screaming. Wuxian couldn’t help it when he heard the name Wei fall of her lips and suddenly everything clicked. You were his sister, that’s why he felt familiar around you. The three of you walked off, Wen Qing leading you both to her house.

“So, who is he?” You asked, pointing at Wuxian behind you and Wen Qing chuckled. “Your brother, of course.” She explained and you frowned before looking at the man who was standing right behind you. He was smiling at you with a dashing smile and you looked back at Wen Qing.

“You’re sure?” You asked before laughing at Wuxian’s expression.

“Don’t stay there, come on in. I’m just joking.” You said, pulling him in and he turned even more confused.

“Are you not surprised at all?!” “Not really. A-Ning talks about you all the time, you’re his role model.” You said with a small smile and he awkwardly laughed back.

“That being said, we should go out of here since A-Qing has to work.” You said as you noticed Wen Qing gathering ingredients and such. Wuxian nodded and followed you out.

“So, where did you end up?” You asked as you followed the road in front of you, walking backwards so you could look at your brother.

“Yunmeng. They took me in when I was about 5 years old…” He said before looking at you again, stopping and leaning forward.

“We don’t really look alike even though were twins.” He said and you shrugged, slowing your pace as well.

“At 5… Lucky, I only got found when I was 9. They dragged me here since I didn’t want to follow. I screamed the whole way. here” You laughed at the memory, looking down a bit embarrassed as you told the story.

“I was found by my sister. And Jiang Cheng had to lose his dogs because of me, he hated me for a few years but we’re pretty close now.” He said, giving you yet another smile. You grinned at him before throwing your arm around his shoulders and pulling him down to your height.

“So, do you like pranking people?” You asked and he just answered with a wicked smile.

Your eyes moved over the crowd, frowning at all the people in front of you. You had been fighting all over for almost a year or more, something that would had never happened if you had just said no to Wuxian. But you hadn’t, so here you were.

Your eyes soon landed on a figure who was standing on the side, face hiding behind a fan as he seemingly looked around as well. Your eyes stayed on him as you watched him talk to someone, half of his face still covered with the fan. When Wuxian came around, he finally lowered the fan and you felt your heart skip a beat as you saw his bright smile. Biting your lip, you smirked and got up. You walked to the two, smirk still on your face as you greeted the two.

“I’m (y/n), Wuxian’s teacher.” You introduced yourself shortly, smiling at the smaller one while Wuxian whined.

“Don’t call yourself teacher, it’s weird.” He whined and you looked at him before sticking out of your tongue slightly at him. He frowned and you smirked again before focusing back on other one once more.

“So, who are you then?” You asked and he smiled at you, introducing himself as Nie Huaisang. You immediately recognized his name, having heard it from the citizens that lived there. The ruler who didn’t know anything, yet when you first noticed him he didn’t look stupid or dumb.

Hence now you were even more intrigued than before.

It was then that you looked closer at him. His robes were slightly creased, he looked slightly tired and his hair was in slightly messy braids. No way he’d slept well, if anything he had a nightmare.

“I’ll see you in a second, I have to find Lan Zhan!” Wuxian suddenly exclaimed, leaving you and Huaisang standing there awkwardly. You looked at Huaisang, seeing that he was staring back at you as well.

“You should take these, they stop nightmares.” You spoke, pulling out some round pills. He looked at you in surprise and you chuckled.

“I know from experience.” You said as you gave another smile.

“What is it then?” “It makes you calm and makes sure you don’t have nightmares. Wuxian, me and Sizhui all ate it before. Sizhui stopped after a year though. It stopped then, probably because he forgot all of the stuff that happened.” You mumbled, looking around. Huaisang looked at the pills in his hand before looking back at you.

“Why do you have nightmares..?” He softly asked, afraid that it might be a touchy subject, but he was extremely curious now. You just shrugged.

“Demonic cultivation tends to do that, I guess. Most of the time it was screaming and gore. Though it changed to killing after I met Wuxian and the Wen clan.” You explained, not really minding sharing the information. He was still a bit confused with what you meant, but when he thought about his nightmares about his da-ge, he somehow understood. Silence took over again for a few seconds before you spoke up again.

“Honestly, this is kinda boring… Wanna get out of here?” You asked, a smirk on your face. He matched your smirk and nodded. You looked around for Wuxian, but seeing him stuck with Jiang Cheng, you decided that you should just leave without telling him.

So you both sneaked out of the party, which wasn’t proven difficult as most people didn’t know you and didn’t seem to care that Huaisang walked past them, although you two did receive some weird looks.

After some minutes, you entered the forest behind the mansion. It was slightly darker already, but light enough to still see your surroundings.

You just walked in silence, watching the animals around you such as fireflies and deers. Than Huaisang spoke up.

“So, how did you and Wuxian meet?” “On the mountain. He screamed at me for 15 minutes before fainting from his wounds. When he woke up, he punched me on accident. Quite a day that was.” You chuckled as you watched Huaisang’s face drop at your story.

“He punched you?” He asked and you nodded, stopping and pointing at your nose, which was slightly crooked with a small scar in the middle.

“How about you? Any scars from Wuxian?” You joked, not expecting Huaisang to actually nod. Your eyes widen as he pointed at his ribs, making you slightly blush at the area.

“I fell while we were trying to catch fish.” He explained, making you chuckle before you stopped walking. Looking around, you frowned.

“I have no clue where we are…” You mumbled, not recognizing any of your surroundings. Huaisang stopped next to you, looking around as well.

“Neither do I…” He replied and you groaned, throwing your head back in annoyance. Your eyes wandered over the forest again before you froze, staring into 2 jet black eyes.

“Huaisang, climb in the tree over there.” You whispered and he looked at you before following your gaze.

“Is that..?” “Run!” You shouted as the beast sprinted your way. Neither of you had swords or any other form of protection so climbing a tree was your best shot. You ran in between other trees and towards the biggest one, hearing the trees behind you snap because of the beast.

Just when you had climbed the tree, you felt the nails of the beast graze your skin, leaving a small trace. You continued to climb until the beast couldn’t reach you anymore, sitting on the place where the branches connected.

“You okay?” You asked Huaisang and he nodded, sighing as he leaned against one of the branches. You did the same, trying to ignore the distant growling beneath you and the chilling cold that started to freeze your body. After about 2 hours, the beast was still stalking underneath the tree and both you and Huaisang were shivering from the cold. Your stomach had started rumbling about an hour ago and your throat had gone completely dry by now.

“How long do you think it’ll stay for?” Huaisang whispered and you shrugged, wrapping your arms around you in some form of warmth.

“It depends… Some only have an attention span of a few minutes, others have one that can last for hours. Let’s just hope for the best I guess.” You mumbled back and Huaisang gave a small whine, which you found adorable.

“Cold?” “Extremely.” He answered and you chuckle before letting out another sigh before biting your lip, slowly shuffling closer towards Huaisang.

“Body warmth can help alot.” You smirked, watching his face go red before sitting right next to him. He looked at you, still blushing immensely and you smiled.

“Sorry, but it’s the truth. Be glad I’m not asking you to take your clothes off even though it’s more effective.” You spoke, smirking at him once again. You didn’t think he would be able to become more red as he was, yet his face blushed even worse. He avoided your gaze, but didn’t move away from you. Soon, he was genuily clinging to you to gain any way of warmth. You had your arms wrapped around his shoulders as his were wrapped around your middle, but he was still shivering softly. Luckily, after another hour in this position you could hear the beast stalk off. You looked down to make sure before nodding at Huaisang that you could climb down. And then you slowly made your way back to the party, which hadn’t ended surprisingly. Most people (aka the Lanling Jin clan) were already slightly drunk and didn’t pay any attention to you. Other people on the hand, looked as you entered again.

Now, you could understand Xichen look of slight horror as both you and Huaisang’s clothes were messy and your hair was tangled slightly from the running and the small wound on your back, clearly knowing something bad happened but you gave him an okay sign to calm him down. To others on the other hand, it may look like something else completely. And who would believe your actual story?

So you ignored everyone and instead went straight to the food and drinks, chugging down enough to fill you but not too much since it would be bad for your stomach otherwise.

“Where on earth did you go and why do you look like you fu-” Lan Zhan placed a hand on his soulmates mouth, preventing him from finishing his sentence. Although you still knew what Wuxian would say, you’ve know him for long enough to know his thoughts.

“Forest and no. We got attacked.” You explained and Wuxian raised an eyebrow suggestively, his mouth still covered.

“Don’t even… You know what, forget it.” You mumbled softly, grabbing a knife from the table and twirling it in between your fingers. You glanced at Wuxian before you stabbed your knife on the table, right in between Wuxian’s fingers. The elder jumped up in surprise, retracting his hand quickly before looking at you in shock.

“Shall we start on your secrets then?” You glared at him and he shook his head, gulping awkwardly as his eyes glanced to Lan Zhan, who had already busied himself with his elder brothers questions.

“How about the fact that you still hasn’t told him your feelings, even though you have a child together.” You said, eyes moving towards the young Lan discipline a few steps away from you. Your eyes darted back to Wuxian, raising an eyebrow at him suggestively and he blushed slightly.

“You ready for that battle?” You teased and he sneered, sticking his tongue out teasingly. His eyes then moved to the figure behind you, looking like he had found his next victim in Huaisang.

“Hey, Huaisang!” He exclaimed, moving to the younger before freezing when you grabbed his ear.

“Leave him alone.” You mumbled, letting go before turning to Huaisang yourself. “You feeling better?” You asked and Huaisang looked up before nodding.

“Yeah, good thing we didn’t freeze to death out there.” He mumbled and you chuckled, elbowing Wuxian softly when you heard the beginning of his comment, which would most likely be a little vulgar. He gave you a soft glare again before stepping away from you and back to his crush to which you gave another comment of ‘Do it now, he likes you back anyway!’. Then you turned back to Huaisang, who was looking back at you.

“Next time that we’re cuddling, let’s not do it in a tree and rather in a bed or such, alright?” And without waiting for a reaction, you walked away with a smirk and left behind a flustered Huaisang.

Yes, you two had definitely fallen in love.

Play dates

Requested by anonymous: Hi can I request Jiang Cheng x reader Yanli and Jin Zixuan is alive au(I am obsessed with this man) where they have kids. So Jiang Cheng and y/n’s kids (preferably twin girls if possible) have a play date with Jin Ling. Thank you so much

Pairing: Jiang Cheng x reader

Warnings: none, I think

A/N apologies for the long wait and for the short update. My inspiration keeps leaving when I need it most and the stress from school doesn’t really help Also, requests are still closed, I just want to the requests in my inbox now before my exams start and after that I’ll take request again.

You smiled as you greeted Yanli happily, holding your girl in your arms who was happily waving at Jin Ling. He was hiding behind Yanli’s dress shyly before shyly waving back. Soon, your second daughter had already jumped out of her fathers arms to greet the young boy happily. The girl in your arms started to wiggle around, trying to get out and go to the boy as well. You put her down, smiling as you watched the three run off.

“Tea?” Yanli asked and you nodded happily as you followed her while dragging Jiang Cheng behind you by the hand.

“You know, how much as those 2 look like you, they don’t act like you at all.” Yanli said to Jiang Cheng sweetly, who smiled slightly and shrugged. You chuckled as you sat down next to Jiang Cheng and opposite of Yanli. One of the maids brings you tea as Zixuan joins you as well.

“How is Jin Ling?” You asked as you sipped your drink. “He’s doing fine. His studies could be better, but he is better at physical stuff like sword fighting.” Yanli explained and you nodded.

“Know the feeling, twins are exactly like that.” You said with a smile. It’s then that you noticed the two men glaring at each other.

“Oh, will you two stop it. Will it hurt your pride that bad to be nice to each other for once?” You sassed, elbowing your husband softly in his ribs. He looked at you with wide eyes before looking away with a roll of his eyes. Nonetheless, he stopped glaring and instead opted in eating the little cakes in front of him. You just shook your head and continued your conversation until you heard happy laughter come near. Soon one of your daughters ran in happily, running to her father with open arms before simply placing herself in her fathers lap with her arms firmly around his neck. She looked up at him and smiled brightly, revealing her toothy grin (with the one of her front teeth missing). Soon the two other children ran in, your second daughter ran up to you while Jin Ling ran to his father (surprisingly). You watched as Zixuan’s whole demeanor change as he took the younger on his lap with a bright smile. You smiled before focusing on your own. Her eyes were trained on Jin Ling before she looked at you as you took a sip of your drink.

“Can I marry someone like him ?” Your eyes widen as you cough loudly, covering your mouth before making eye-contact with Jiang Cheng.

“You’re not marrying anyone.” He answered with a neutral face and she whined loudly, looking to you with her beady eyes. You chuckled and grabbed her face in your hands, smiling at her.

“Your father is just a bit protective.” You said and she pouted before waddling over to her father.

“You will stay my second favorite, don’t worry.” She smiled brightly, not realizing the confused face that everyone wore after she said that. Then the kids proceeded to run back off to play outside. Jiang Cheng looked at you, pointing his thump at where his kids left.

“Who’s number one?”

Untamed reaction (Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng)

Requested by anonymous: Hello you can do a reaction Lan Zhan, Wei Ying, jiang Cheng. He has a little brother who is good and likes to play but he hurts his leg and recommends him rest so his brother takes care of him and has to carry him in his arms or something like that to make sure he is not running. For example for Lan Zhan when Wei Ying is catching fish in the back (I don’t know if you know at the time of the series I’m referring to) and then the boy sees them and wants to play too and Lan Zhan arrives and picks him up

Warnings:none

A/N: I apologize for the long wait

Wei Wuxian:

Now Wuxian is a very reckless person himself, mostly because he doesn’t really have a fear of getting hurt. But when you got hurt (by fishing weirdly enough) and were forced to stay indoors, Wuxian was there to help you. You were someone who was very active person, always running around (even though it wasn’t allowed) and playing around. So being stuck in your room was not an option. So he carried you everywhere whether it was on his back, on his shoulder or simply in his arms. And he carried you like that everywhere… But one day, you couldn’t sleep so you decided to go out on your own, not wanting to wake your brother. So you limped outside, leaning on every single thing that you could lean on.

“Yah, your not supposed to walk!” Someone exclaimed, making you flinch before turning around to look. Wuxian had woken, running behind you with a slight frown.

“I can’t sleep, I just want to walk around a bit.” You explained, but he shook his head and lifted you once again. You groaned, assuming that you were going back to bed until you noticed that you were moving further from your rooms.

“Let’s go see the bunnies then!” He exclaimed and you smiled, nodding excitingly as he carried you there.

Lan Zhan:

How you broke your leg was simple in a way. You fell… from the roof. Yeah, were not getting into it anymore than that. But you stayed in the library most of the time, studying your lessons or reading or studying your music. Being carried everywhere was annoying for both you and your brother, Lan Zhan, so you avoided moving places to much. But some days, you didn’t feel like doing that. Today was one of those days that you just sat in the library, looking out in front of you. You decided to just go out a bit and pushed yourself up. You hopped around and soon found yourself following the sounds of laughter, reaching the lake at the back of Cloud Recesses. You spotted Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang playing around in the water. You were a bit confused as to why, but nonetheless it soon brought a smile to your lips as you continued watching them.

That’s when you suddenly felt water splash unto you and looked at them with wide eyes. You smirked, getting ready to jump in when you suddenly felt someone pull you back.

“Seriously?” A monotoned voice said and you looked up, seeing Lan Zhan staring at you.

“Can I not?” You asked and he shook his head, making you pout before looking up again with a smile.

“Carry me!” You outstretched your arms and he rolled his eyes, frowning after. You whined before yelping when he actually picked you up.

“Don’t expect this more than once.”

Jiang Cheng:

This man, my god. Tsundere is a good term for this guy and that goes for anything he does. Even when your hurt. When you hurt your leg by accident, he took care of you in his own way. Aka, he acted like he didn’t care yet he carried you everywhere. So you were limping to class, he’d pick you up and complain about your limping. Or when you took a break from the walking (an activity that the Lans implemented for exercise) and he carried you while complaining that you were holding the whole group back. But you knew he meant well anyway, ignoring the remarks and instead focusing on the fact that he was helping you. That being said, today you didn’t feel like being carried and instead opted on sneaking away from the group during the daily walk. So when everyone was in front of you, you became quiet and silently limped away. You supported yourself against trees, enjoying your surroundings until you heard rustling behind you. You weren’t carrying your sword with you, so fear struck even more when you realized that. You turned, unfortunately too quickly, and landed flat on your butt. You looked up terrified, only to see Jiang Cheng standing in front of you. He looked down at where you were laying and you gave him an awkward smile.

“You are impossible, you know that?” He spoke, openly judging you and making you pout in return before you held your arms out.

“Help me.” You spoke and he rolled his eyes, sighing loudly before grabbing you underneath your arms. He lifted you like how he would lift a child and you whined before simply wrapping yourself around him like a koala. You smiled down at him before hugging him close to yourself once again, burying your head in the crook of his neck. He said nothing, so you took it as a sign that he was fine with it and didn’t stop. Instead, you felt his arms supporting your weight as he walked somewhere. You soon noticed that he was walking back to your room and frowned, lifting your head.

“Won’t we get in trouble?” “Once more, yes. It’s not like you aren’t used to that already.” He replied and you scoffed.

“I am a perfect student, how dare you.” You answered, flicking his forehead and he scoffed.

“Yeah, sure. I certainly believe that.” He replied and you glared at him angrily.

“Nevertheless, once more can’t hurt.”

Untamed reaction (Jiang Cheng & Lan Xichen)

Requested by anonymous: Hii, can I ask Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen (separately) where they have a nightmare of the reader dying/ tortured, just a lot of angst, may or may not end in fluff, thanks

Warnings:gore, angst but do end in fluff

Jiang Cheng:

You stared at him, eyes wide and one hand reaching out to him. Jiang Cheng’s eyes lingered on your face before landing on the man behind you. Then the sword suddenly pierced through your abdomen, making your body lunge forward slightly. He watched it being pulled out, his body unable to move as he watched you get stabbed over and over again before your body collapsed to the ground.

Then Jiang Cheng woke up, a scream erupting from his chest. Sweat dripped down his forehead and his hands were clutching the sheets tightly. His head turned and his eyes landed on you, your eyes open slightly as you looked at him in worry. You pushed yourself up and cupped his face.

“Nightmare?” He didn’t answer and instead hugged you closer to his body. You just patted his back softly, trying to calm him down.

He did go to sleep again later on, but not without his arms tightly around your waist so that you couldn’t disappear like you had in his dream.

Lan Xichen:

After you had been kidnapped not so long ago, Xichen kept having dreams. Today however, was the worst in his opinion. He watched you strapped to a chair, your body completely destroyed. Muscles and bones were clearly visible to him, making his stomach twist uncomfortably as he watched you plead for your life as a man tried to get information out of you. Then you screamed loudly as a knife pierced through your body and Xichen shot awake.

His eyes darted around the room, landing on you. You sat on the ground, playing guqin although you had now stopped as you looked at him.

“You alright, darling?” You asked and he nodded, throwing the blanket off of him and standing up. He made his way up to you and sat behind you. His arms wrapped around your waist and his head landed on your shoulder, hiding his face in the crook of your neck. Your hand lifted and you softly placed it on his head, patting his hair softly. A few minutes past as you continued to pat his hair before he suddenly looked up again.

“The same as before?” “Yes, but this one was way worse.” He softly spoke and you nodded, turning around in his arms and basically putting yourself on his lap before you hugged him back.

“I wasn’t hurt badly. You saved me, remember?” You said and he looked down. “Nothing will happen, I’m safe now.” You said once again before placing a soft kiss on his lips before hugging him closer to you. And that’s what you stayed for awhile, just hugging each other until Xichen was calmed down some more. Then you both went to your bed, falling asleep in each others arms soundly.

A/N short angst (I felt extra angsty today), hope you like it

You gasped as your head was pulled out of the water again, trying to get as much air in your lungs before you were pushed under again. Your lungs ached, begging for air. That’s when you breathed in, water entering your mouth and nose and going to your lungs before you were pulled up again. You coughed, spitting out water as you were pulled back to the chair behind you.

“Where are the Lans hiding? Where is the yin iron?” Your captivator asked once again and you coughed again before speaking up.

“I don’t know…” You spoke, your voice hoarse from the hours of torture. Blood had surrounded you, your clothes torn and barely covering you, cuts and burns littering your arms. You’d only bee, here for 3 days, but you felt like you had been here for months. You remembered the day that they kidnapped you vividly, remembering that Lan Xichen had been hurt in the process of it.

~Flashback~

You walked around the forest, collecting all kinds of flowers and weeds while Xichen walked behind you, observing the area around you. This was something you 2 always did when you just needed to relax from your duties and wanted to spend some time together. Being married the chief-to-be was something very stressful. Alot of stuff was expected of you which meant that you had to act sophisticated and such (which you never were to begin with, more of a rule breaker).

That’s when you suddenly felt your back being grabbed by your hair. You crashed to the ground, wincing at the pull on your skull as you looked at Xichen. He looked shocked, grabbing his flute before falling down as a guard hit him hard on his head with the hilt of their sword.

“Let me go!” You screeched, but to no avail. You were dragged off, only being able to watch Xichen’s body disappear in the distance.

~flashback ends~

Your eyes stung, tears escaping your eyes as you looked in front of you. You watched Cloud Recesses burn down, boys that you knew running out of the flames and screams. Wen Chao was standing beside you, smirking brightly as he held you by your hair. Next thing you knew, you were being dragged to the mountain behind the building, seeing the dead bodies of your friends, except for a few.

“The yin iron-” A sword was pressed against your neck. The man in front of you held the yin iron in his hands, hiding it in the sleeve of his robe. “-or she dies.” The sword was pulled tighter against your neck and you looked with pleading eyes. He looked between you and the guard before someone else grabbed the iron and threw it to Wen Chao.

“Good… Kill them.” He ordered, turning around and walking off. You were grabbed again as you screamed loudly. You were just dragged along again and back on the road, walking behind the horses.

“You’d make a beautiful concubine.” Wen Chao suddenly spoke, grabbing your face and turning it to face him, leaning a bit closer.

“After cleaning up, of course.” He spoke and you growled, spitting into his face.

“I will never, you asshole.” You seethed, glaring at him. You were pushed down and fell to the ground. You turned around to get back up when you spotted Xichen in the distance as he hid in the woods, your eyes connecting shortly. His eyes were filled with worry and you got pulled back up, eyes still on Xichen when you suddenly felt a sword pierce through your body, leaving you gasping for air.

Xichen watched as your body fell to the ground, your eyes losing all live and appearing now dull and death. Blood oozed from your wound, your body stilled and you had died. The group of Wens left and Xichen slowly made his way to you, turning your body around and cradling you in his arms. He was crying, begging for you to come back to life but to no avail of course. You were gone and he couldn’t protect you from it.

“Shut it Jin Ling!’ You spoke as you walked towards your father with the younger one following you. Once you reached him, you just stood beside him, staring ahead of you.

"Who are they again?” You asked, leaning closer to your father, who gave you an annoyed look before calmly explaining who everyone was. You just nodded along, the words floating through your head as you tried to remember everything. But you gave up when you didn’t even remember the first name or position.

“Behave.” Your dad spoke and you looked up at him.

“And you? You’re worse than me.” You sassed him back, sticking out your tongue. He just shook his head, a small smile on his face as he watched you saunter off once again to join the people your age.

Most of the party went by smoothly and it soon ended with your father having to drag Huaisang behind him while you awkwardly walked behind them, avoiding the stares from other who were not yet used to the scene. Your uncle was a special one that’s for sure… Then again, so was everyone in your fathers’ friend group and so was your friend group (the juniors).

Huaisang stayed at yours, something you didn’t mind since it meant that you could paint with him again. That being said, it would be impossible since he was now completely gone. You sat in the room as your father tried to put him on the bed in the corner, which was proven difficult as Huaisang tried to cling onto him desperately. After a few minutes, you got up and grabbed Huaisang’s arm.

“Dad, let me.” You said to your father as you grabbed Huaisang’s hands before pushing him down to the bed. Huaisang whined, but laid his head down. The moment his head touched the pillow, he was gone and snoring slightly.

“You have magic, I’m sure.” Your dad spoke and you laughed, covering your uncle with a blanket before joining your father at the table. You grabbed some tea and drank it quickly before looking at your father.

“Don’t you dare drink more. You’re only allowed to drink yourself to death when I’m married.” You said as you drank a second cup of tea before filling yours and your fathers again.

“Until you’re married? I have to wait for another hundred years?” He spoke and you looked up from your cup, giving him a glare. He just gave you a smirk before drinking his tea. You rolled your eyes and drank from your own cup before looking at him again. You then yawned, covering your face awkwardly as your eyes connected with his.

“Go to sleep.” He said and you pouted, but got up anyway before walking around the table and hanging your arms across of his shoulders.

“Carry me.” And he did, carrying you on his back as you slowly fell asleep on his back. When he reached your room, you were fully asleep and clinging to his arm as he laid you down on the bed. After trying to get you to release his arm, he gave up and laid beside you before smiling down at you as he noticed the smile on your face. Then he closed his own eyes, protectively wrapping one of his arms around you before sleeping comfortably.

Wei Wuxian’s voice was hoarse. “Thank you.” …  After a moment of silence, Lan Wangji responded, “You are welcome.”

This is my favorite scene from the novel. I wish we could have had it in The Untamed.
