A/N: Turned out really fluffy, but it made my heart full.
Misha was grateful but nervous as he arrived home, fresh off a tour of duty. Eighteen months away from home seemed like a lifetime, especially after all he had seen and been through in that time. It would have felt impossible, if it hadn’t been for his best friend, Jensen.
When he enlisted, Jensen was excited and supportive, but Misha knew he was hurting. They grew up together, were always together. His enlistment was really the first long stretch of time they’d had apart. But Jensen wrote constantly, keeping Misha aprised of the things at home and reminding him that he was loved and missed.
The night before he left, Jensen threw him a party, enjoying one more night before they would have to bid farewell. So it wasn't that much of a surprise when he walked into his family’s home to a large crowd of happy people welcoming him home.
Of course, Jensen was center stage, a bright smile on his face to greet his best friend. Of course, Jensen was his first hug, the familiarity of it grounding him and releasing the nervous tension he was holding.
“Welcome home, man,” Jensen beamed, “We’ll catch up later when we have a minute, yeah?”
Misha nodded, knowing all the people around him would want his time and attention. All he wanted was to sit and drink a beer with Jensen, but that would have to wait.
What seemed like hours later, people finally started leaving the party, the house emptying out and quieting down quickly after. When Jensen handed him a beer and lead the way to the chairs out back, Misha was at peace.
“So glad you’re back, man,” Jensen spoke, “You have no idea how much you were missed around here.”
“Oh, well Mrs. Carter told me exactly how much I’ve been missed.”
The pair chuckled together, Jensen shaking his head, his smile unable to leave his face.
“Yeah, well, she’s not the only one,” Jensen added with a nervous chuckle.
He ran a hand on the back of his neck and Misha tilted his head in confusion. He knew those tells, but he didn’t understand why Jensen would have them now. Except, maybe he did because something had started to shift between them before he left. While he was away, Jensen was his rock, his go-to, his piece of home.
“You kept me going over there, you know?” Misha admitted, fidgeting with the bottle in his hands, “You kept in touch and no matter what was going on I knew you’d be there to listen and respond.”
Jensen’s constant contact meant more to him than he could really put into words.
“I was so worried,” Jensen admitted, his voice shaky, “I didn’t know if I’d see you again. If you’d even make it h-home.”
Seeing him so shaken broke something within Misha. Taking a chance, he reached over, squeezing Jensen’s hand in his own. When Jensen met his eyes, he squeezed once more to reassure him.
“Asshole,” Jensen affectionately grumbled, letting a tear drop as he lurched forward, hugging Misha tightly once more.
A part of him was afraid if he let go, Misha would disappear right before his eyes as if it were all a dream. So he held tighter and Misha reciprocated as they settled back into the familiarity that was them, and maybe something more.

Hey guys, I’m alive, I’ve just been occupied with a lot of things at once. It was probably a dumb idea to start rewriting my fanfiction to put onto ao3 while I was already taking longer to put out chapters, but it’s too late to stop posting there now. My motivation’s been lower, and honestly my pretty much… everything has been. But I do like writing, I haven’t lost the spark on it, I just appreciate all the patience. The fact that its been 3 months since I last updated doesn’t feel very good, but I can assure y'all that it’s on the way. The rewrite, too, I’ve just been having some writers block on that. Thank you for all the patience with writing, art, all of that. More content will be posted soon <3
I’m still testing out drawing the way I have been, so this is kind of a test, but it includes something from chapter 64 of Welcome Home. I didn’t plan to draw this, I just wanted to draw something and post it instead of making another WIP to finish next year

Hey y'all, I figured i’d give an update on some things since I haven’t in a while. Firstly, this summer I moved which has been bittersweet. I’m further away from my comfort people now, but I’ve met some new people as well which is a good consolation to that. Also the move took off like half the distance from Grey, even though it’s still too far to see each other without a lot of planning beforehand. Hopefully this spring/summer will work out.
Secondly, I’ve really started to figure out that I have more interest in becoming an English teacher than I thought I did. Over time that idea has come up to me but a while back I never really thought much of it, but the desire to pursue that has become stronger over time and i’m genuinely considering working my way towards that come college. Of course those things change, and have changed for me, but I have a lot of reasons for this career path interest and feel like it would sort of suit me, as well. Besides, working in a middle school or high school environment just might help some fruity or questioning kids too, because for me its always been the English teachers that are accepting about LGBTQ+ and such. It always makes me feel good knowing that I’m making others feel good or happy. Being something of a safe space is something I would want. Of course all being a fruity ally teacher isn’t the main point, but you know. In general I like the idea of teaching students a subject that I genuinely enjoy.
Third of all, I plan on posting to Ao3 as well. I have the same name that I do here, Whinkx, and I’ll be posting Welcome Home and any one shots that I write in the future (Like the Grunkle Sleepover one). I’ve been rewriting the beginning of the story because the start of the story is just awful. I have also updated the beginning on the usual site (First four chapters so far) and will continue to do so as more updates come to edit the original fic and publish to the copy on Ao3. There’s nothing different from the Ao3 WH than what’s on the usual site, just that it exists on two platforms so more people may get a chance to see the rabbit hole I’ve engulfed myself in for the past 2 years. I’ve wanted to do this for a while now, and I finally decided to like a month ago.
So this got pretty long but yeah, just some updates. Also if you’ve read this far, and you’re familiar with Ao3’s formatting, would putting art in with the story be a good idea or no? Probably at the end of chapters if anything so it doesn’t get in the way. I don’t know, just a thought.
Beautiful drawing with an absolutely powerful message. There are many sluts out there who define themselves as fuck toys and house slaves, but many see themselves as only the former. We are not here to pass judgment on sluts who see themselves as strong, independent women outside the games they play with their man (I’m being sincere here for once), but regardless of whether the game stops at the front door or not: Never forget, sluts, that for a man, home is where he can take off his shoes and unwind in a comfortable, cozy environment - where there’s his couch, a TV, an inviting kitchen and bathroom and of course a warm, well-trained, elastic fuckhole to welcome him in.
