Warning: kissing. reader has enough hair to be tied up
Notes: Sorry I’ve been so dead over the last month my school decided to spit out a shitton of homework ;-;. Sorry if the ending is a bit rushed I was scared I won’t be able to complete it on time. (and sorry for posting it so late (ಥ _ʖಥ))
Albedo knew you crossed the line this time. But no matter how hard he tries, he can’t do it. He just couldn’t say no to you. He couldn’t say no to the way your eyebrows scrunch up and your lips stick out in the most adorablepout. He couldn’t say no the way your pleading eyes dug into his skull, waiting for the answer.
You knew. Albedo knew you knew. You knew that you had an exam, yet you stilldecided to go to the bar. You stillmanaged to get yourself so drunk you could barely walk. You stillnearly fell asleep on his unused bed after you had come knocking on his door in the middle of his experiment.
Albedo tried gently pulling away from your sleeping form, but even in your drunk state, your arms still wrapped firmly around his neck.
“y/n,” he whispered, gently shaking you by the shoulders, “you can’t sleep here.”
“I’m tired,” you said, “can I just crash here?”
“y/n.”
You buried your face into his neck, murmuring something that Albedo couldn’t quite make out.
“y/n?” You lifted your head from his neck, your eyes were hazy, lips slightly agape. Your lips. Your goddamn perfectlips.
“I said,” you slurred, giving him a sleepy grin, “you’re so warm, ‘bedo. And so pretty too. So, so pretty.”
Albedo raised an eyebrow.
“You think I’m pretty?”
You nodded violently.
“You’re pretty. Much prettier than Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift or any of those celebrities.”
Albedo chuckled. Even when you’re drunk and half-asleep, you could still make him laugh.
“Y/n, you have to go home. I need to finish my experiment.”
“Nooooo,” you dug your head deeper into his neck, “Don’t leave me. Please.” Then you gave him that look. The look you know he just can’t say no to. After a few moments, you took his silence as confirmation and snuggled closer to him, taking his arms to wrap them around yourself.
“Y/n, even if I don’t do my experiment, I still need to sleep.”
“This is your bed, isn’t it? Just sleep here.”
Albedo could feel his ears heating up. Even if your comments before didn’t bother him, this definitely did. You and Albedo had been friends ever since you remember, and it’s not uncommon for a bit of casual flirting, but this was different. You haven’t slept in the same bed as him ever since you were seven.
You sighed, reaching out to untie his braids and card your fingers through his blond hair.
“Does your scalp hurt, ‘bedo? If I tie my hair up for long amounts of time it gets really sore. My poor baby,” you cooed.
You were going to kill him.
“Y/n-”
“What am I doing?” you mumbled, cutting him off.
“Huh?”
“What am I doing? I can’t compare to the others,” you sighed, slipping out of his arms to pull the blankets up to your chin.
“Y/n? What are you going on about?”
“You’re the perfect human being, you know that right? It doesn’t surprise you that half the people on campus like you?”
Albedo was popular, he knew that. But he barely paid any attention to any who had an interest in him. After all, his education comes first.
“Well, that’s the reason I’ve held off telling you. I can’t compete with half the campus.”
What were you telling him? You can’t compete with half the campus?
“Since this is the only time I’ll be able to do it-”
Albedo’s lips met warm skin as you barely grazed ur lips against his. Within a second, you had propped yourself up and kissed him. Albedo was stunned, body frozen. This kiss barely lasted a moment, yet Albedo could feel the lingering sensation of your lips on his. The taste of alcohol and underlying tones of cherries and strawberries. You sent him a shy smirk before hiding yourself under his blankets again.
This is actually the initial sketch I did for @albedozine, but I disliked it so I scrapped it and did a different piece for the zine. Going back and finishing it was fun :3
the tale of Albedo and the failed experiment is a tale as old as time, of beings who oh so desperately wish to become human, to come into being, in order to feel the joy that comes with life
however, it still is a compelling tale nonetheless, and it was executed quite well
Albedo: I’m an efficient worker I’ll have you know.
Also Albedo: [Gets given a deadline to submit his work the day after tomorrow, proceeds to go have an excursion with some friends that takes hours, sketches the scenery around him instead of starting his project that’s due in three hours now] God, it’s like they don’t give me a flexible time window, these people.
