prompt 6: modern/domestic au pov: you’re the only student in Professor Zhongli’s extra class, and you’re watching him sip tea
Professor Zhongli is one elegantbastard.
In the sunlit room of the wide lecture hall, the sounds he makes bounce off the walls and echo in your ears all the more loudly despite your efforts to concentrate on the work in front of you. They’re by no means loud sounds, but tiny ones that build up in the background, rhythmically blending in with the rest of the background noise until you don’t even realize you’d gotten used to it till it disappears.
Really, it was only Zhongli that could make sipping tea sound like a symphony.
With the tip of his middle finger, he traces the rim of his cup lightly, like he’s trailing stardust across the galaxy and not wiping away sugar that’d been spilled. Next, he takes his tiny spoon, the one he uses to mix his tea, and taps it lightly against the side of the cup. Perhaps the wills of nature bowed their head to Zhongli, for the sound is intrinsically melodic. Instead of the usual metal on metal screech heard in trendy cafes, it is like the sound of a singular droplet falling into the vast ocean.
He makes sipping tea look like a dream. An effortless gesture. So strong was this image in front of you that you almost expected wind to appear, gently enveloping the room to rustle Zhongli’s hair in an absurdly romantic-comedy styled scene. It doesn’t happen. The long windows next to him are closed.
That doesn’t stop him from gazing out into the courtyard, thick lashes over bright golden eyes. The way he sits— it’s languid and assured. Elbows resting casually against the armrest, legs crossed, head tilted just right so that you could see the glimmer of light reflected in his eyes. You’re entranced with the way he moves, and the only reprieve you have is the fact Zhongli is still oblivious to the way you stare at him, ignoring the work he’d given you.
“Is there something the matter?”
Professor Zhongli is one elegant bastard, and you wouldn’t be able to forget it even if eons had passed.
Okay, I am two days late cuz of work reasons but here is my contribution to @genshin-scenarios collab! I got the domestic AU and due to my stress, I kinda wanted to draw Zhongli supporting the reader, whether it be for online school, homework, or online work. I definitely need this hahahahaah
