Sitting on the edge of his bed, all you want to do is collapse backward and fall asleep. He wined and dined you to the point you don’t know how much longer you can stand to stay in the tight skirt you’re wearing, so you suck it up and lean over to at least begin undoing the straps on your heels to get those off.

“I can feel you staring at me,” you huff teasingly, feeling his presence in the doorway.

Keeping your head down, you just catch a glimpse of his feet as he makes his way toward you and kneels in front of you.

“What if I wanted you to keep the heels on,” he smirks, gently pushing your hands away so he can take them off for you.

The Florist next-door… Andy Barber x reader series Part 4

<Part 3<

Warnings: 18+ readers only, swearing, angry!Andy, bitch!Laurie

A couple of hours later Andy opened his front door and loosened his tie. He wasn’t looking forward to the conversation he was about to have.

“Why did, Y/N, get out of your car?” Laurie asked as she appeared in the doorway.

Andy chewed the inside of his cheek as he looked at her. “Something happened at her store.”

“And why does that concern you?” She asked coldly.

“Leonard Patz, showed up there, buying flowers for his friend, Ben.” Andy explained. “Then, someone slashed her tyres and to top it off, that guy that’s been stalking us, is now also following her.” He glared at her. “That’s why it concerns me, Laurie.”

Laurie looked at him worried, gulping before she cleared her throat. “Do you know who, slashed her tyres?” She asked.

Andy’s brow creased as he shook his head. “The police are looking in to it, but they’re worried about her safety now so, she’s staying here tonight.” Andy turned his back and walked into hi office putting his brief case down on his desk.

“Excuse me?” Laurie followed. “I don’t think she is.”

Andy huffed, “And why not, Laurie? The police are worried that someone could be trying to hurt her.”

Laurie rolled her eyes. “Always playing the victim, isn’t she.” She folded her arms across her chest. “Why would anyone want to hurt her?”

Andy shrugged. “I don’t know. But why would, Leonard Patz, go to her store? Why is that guy watching her all day? Why would someone slash her tyres? I don’t, know! But they have and someone did, and the police are worried about her… I’m, worried about her.”

“What’s going on?” Jacob asked as he stepped off the bottom step. “Why are you shouting?”

“Nothing, honey, your father and I, were just having a discussion.” Laurie turned to smile at Jacob.

Jacob frowned and looked at Andy, “Dad? Who are you worried about?”

Andy drew in a deep breath as he looked at his son, debating whether he should tell him or not. He didn’t need to look at Laurie to know she was glaring at him, hoping he’d keep his mouth shut. But Andy couldn’t not tell Jacob, you were Jacob’s friend just as much as his. “How would you feel about, Y/N, spending the night?”

“Andy.” Laurie snapped at him. “You are not involving him in this, he’s just a child.”

Andy ignored her. “Would you be bothered?”

Jacob shook his head. “No, but why would she need to?” Jacob shrugged.

“The police are worried about her safety. Someone slashed her tyres whilst she was at work today.” Andy explained briefly not wanting to fully explain to his son what had gone on.

“What? Why would someone do that?” Jacob asked.

Andy shrugged, “I’m not sure, but the police have reason to believe she’s not safe on her own and asked if she could stay here whilst they watch her place.”

“Oh,” Jacob went quiet. “Is it because of me?”

“No.” Laurie placed her hand on his shoulder. “You have nothing to worry about, okay?” She glared at Andy.

“Do you think it’s because of me, dad? Because she’s on my side?” Jacob asked Andy.

Andy took a deep breath, “It could be, Jacob, I’m not gonna lie.”

“Andy!” Laurie snapped at him.

“It’s okay, mom.” Jacob shook her hand off. “I want, Y/N, to be safe, so she should be here. After everything she’s done for us, we should look out for her.”

Andy smiled proudly at his son. “That’s very kind and grown up of you, Jacob, I’m proud of you.” Andy placed his hand on his shoulder.

Laurie huffed, “For heaven’s sake, so you’re going to put our family at risk instead.”

Andy frowned at Laurie. “What are you talking about?”

“You said she wasn’t safe, so being here means we won’t be safe.” Laurie glared at him. “I don’t want her here.”

“Laurie, I wouldn’t put us at risk but, Y/N, is all on her own.” Andy sighed, “She’s our friend, Laurie.”

“NO!” Laurie snapped. “She’s your friend, Andy, not mine.”

Andy’s eyes widened as he looked at an equally shocked Jacob.

“Pack a bag, Jacob.” Laurie pushed him towards the bottom of the stairs.

“What? Why?” He frowned at her.

“We’re not staying here tonight if your father insists on choosing her the safety of this family.” Laurie sent Andy a cold look.

Andy closed his eyes as he let out a frustrated sigh. “I am not, choosing her over you! She’s not safe on her own, Laurie, why can’t you understand that?”

“I don’t want go, mom. Dad’s, right.” Jacob stood on the bottom step.

“Now, Jacob!” Laurie shouted at him.

Jacob glared at her before looking at Andy with a pleading look.

Andy shook his head as he glared at Laurie. “Go on son, do as your mother says.”

Jacob huffed and ran off upstairs as Andy and Laurie glared at each other in silence until they heard Jacob’s door slam shut.

“I thought you were a good person, Laurie, I really did, but right now, I’ve never been more ashamed of you.” Andy turned his back to her and walked over to his desk.

“Right now, I don’t really care what you think.” She spat at him before slamming the door shut.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you sat on the edge of your bed with your overnight bag packed by your feet, you finally took a minute to yourself.
You weren’t sure how to feel. You felt guilty, for letting yourself be so stupid and fall in love with a married man. But then again, you knew Andy wasn’t happy anymore, not with Laurie and you were pretty sure Laurie felt the same, only she wouldn’t admit it. Then there’s the whole Leonard Patz thing, your tyres being slashed and the guy that had been watching you. You hadn’t felt this scared to be alone since your ex-husband was in the picture.
You were thankful for when Andy offered you to stay the night in his guest room, because then you wouldn’t be on your own. But were you really about to do this? Spend a night under the same roof with a man you’ve found yourself falling in love with and have kissed twice, his wife who hates your guts and their son.
There was no doubt about it, you were a horrible human being.
You quickly squashed all your feelings down and grabbed your things before heading over to Andy’s house before you could talk yourself out if going. As you walked up to Andy’s front door you couldn’t shake the feeling you were being watched, so you looked over your shoulder and there he was. You froze as you and the man stared at each other. How was he not fazed by being spotted?
“Jacob, lets go!” Laurie shouted as she pulled the front door open. She glared at you, only stopping momentarily before barging past you and over to her car without a word to you.
You frowned as you looked back at Jaocb as he walked out of the front door with a bag. “Hey.” You smiled.
“Hey,” He returned your smile. “You okay? Dad, told me about your tyres.”
You looked at Andy behind him and nodded. “Yeah, I’m cool.”
“M'sorry.” Jacob frowned as he looked down. “It’s all my fault.”
“No, Jacob, you have nothing to be sorry for.” You reached out and patted his shoulder.
“If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t be in this mess.” He shook his head. “So, I’m sorry.”
You smiled warmly at him, “You’re a good kid, Jacob, I hope you know that.”
“Jacob, let’s go!” Laurie shouted through the rolled down window. “Now.”
Jacob huffed and said goodbye to you and Andy before walking over to Laurie’s car.
“Where they off to?” You asked Andy as you entered the house with him.
Andy let out a heavy breath, “A hotel. Laurie, needed space.” He frowned, looking at you. “And don’t start blaming yourself, Y/N.” He said before you could open your mouth. “This is a, Laurie, problem, not yours.”
You nodded keeping your mouth shut as you looked down to the two bags in your hands. “Oh, I bought over some groceries I had that I was gonna make dinner with, I thought I could cook as a thank you.” You smiled at him.
Andy smiled excitedly as he took them from you. “That sounds, amazing.” His belly grumbled at the prospect of something other than takeout. “But you didn’t need to do that.”
You shrugged, “It’s the least I can do…” You smiled, your cheeks beginning to blush. “Hmm, do you mind if I shower? Kinda want to wash away today, if you know what I mean.”
Andy nodded, “Sure. I’ll take you up and show you where you can put your things.” He placed the groceries down before leading you upstairs. Andy cleared his throat as he pushed open a door. “This is the guest room,” He looked back at you and nodded over to another door. “That’s Jacob’s, the bathroom is there and that’s… Where I sleep.” He paused as he looked at the room he shared with Laurie. He quickly cleared his throat, “There’s towels in that cupboard and, there should be some things in there for you to use.” He gave you a warm smile before closing the door.
You let out a deep breath as you dropped onto the end of the bed. What were you doing?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Andy sat in his office, silently brooding as he watched the CCTV footage from the building next to your store. The police officer whom was working the case had sent it to him. The footage showed the person that had slashed your tyres, clear as day and he was beyond pissed off.

“Hey,” You appeared in the doorway with a smile. “Hungry?” You asked.

Andy nodded with a smile, liking the feeling he got when he saw you fresh out of the shower in his home, “Starving.” He stood up and closed his laptop. “I’m gonna shower real quick but I’ll be back down shortly and I’ll give you a hand.” He quickly ran upstairs before you could answer.

He walked into his bedroom and shut the door as he pulled his cell out and dialled Laurie’s number. He began to pace back and forth as it dialled, getting more and more angrier as he waited.

“What do you want, Andy?” Laurie asked coldly.

“Where’s, Jacob?”

“Playing his game in the other room.” She answered.

“Good, I want to talk to you.” Andy gritted his teeth.

“We’re not coming home, Andy.”

“I don’t want you to come home.” Andy snapped at her. “Not after what you’ve done.”

“Excuse me?”

“Don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about, Laurie.” Andy balled his fist up as he began Gan to pace back and fourth again.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Andy. I’ve done nothing.”

“DON’T LIE TO ME!” Andy shouted. “I know what you did to, Y/N’s, car. There’s CCTV footage of you, Laurie. I know it was you.”

Laurie was silent for a moment before she let out a frustrated sigh. “… I can explain.”

“What were you thinking?” Andy asked.

“I wasn’t, okay. My head is all over the place and–”

“Don’t give me that, Laurie. You knew what you were doing. You were thinking about yourself.” Andy spat.

“How dare you say that? I was thinking about us–”

“NO!” Andy shouted. “You were thinking about yourself, because if you weren’t, you wouldn’t have done this.”

“You can’t say that, Andy!”

“I can, because I know for a fact, you weren’t thinking about, Jacob. Do have any idea how bad this is going to reflect on him?” Andy stood in the middle of the room defeated.

“What do you mean? You can make this go away, Andy.”

Andy let out a dry chuckle, “How am I supposed to do that? The police are involved.”

“You can talk to, Y/N, for me. She’s your friend. She’ll listen to you. Please. Tell her about it looking bad on, Jacob.” Laurie pleaded.

Anger boiled up inside Andy again. “You should apologise to her, Laurie.”

She huffed, “I am not, apologising to her.”

Andy ground his teeth. “Why not?”

“Because it’s her fault, okay. She deserved it.” Laurie snapped.

“How? She’s done nothing wrong. She’s been nothing but a loyal and caring friend to, Jacob and me. Hell, she’s even been all those things and more towards you, even when you’ve been nothing but a spiteful bitch towards her.” Andy spat.

Laurie gasped, “Andy, can’t you see she’s trying to steal you away from me.”

“No, Laurie, I’m sorry but I’ve had enough of it. I don’t know why you’ve had it out for, Y/N, from the moment you met her, but it stops now.”

“Andy,”

“NO. I don’t want to hear your excuses, okay? I’m done. Goodbye.” He hung and flicked his cell onto silence before throwing it onto the bed. He then let out a heavy sigh as he dropped his head into his hands.

The Florist next-door… Andy Barber x reader series Part 3

<Part 2<

You decided space was exactly what you were going to give your neighbors after thatnight.

You made sure to leave the house way before they did. You ignored Andy’s texts, hell, you even kept your living room curtains drawn because you couldn’t face looking over. It was killing you. You’d kissed another woman’s husband. A man you couldn’t keep out of your head, who you’d somehow become so dependent on without realising it, you were actually starting to feel lost not seeing him. He was your friend, but that kiss woke something from deep inside you that made you crave more.

“How would you like to pay?” You asked the man that had just ordered some flowers.

“Credit card, please.” He smiled at you.

You tried not dwell on the fact he was giving you major creepy vibes as you took his card. “No problem, I’ll just -” You drew in a deep breath as you read his name. That need to have Andy close to you came surging back as you tried to keep calm. “Hmm, there… You go.” You handed his card back. “I’ll just put these together for you.” You smiled politely as you collected the flowers the man had chosen from the counter and headed into the back.

You let the door close behind you as you pulled your cell out and for the first time in almost a week, you dialed Andy’s number. As you waited for him to pick up you quickly put the man’s flowers together, not caring if it looked terrible, you wanted the guy out.

“Miss me?” Andy asked playfully.

You took a shaky breath, “Leonard Patz, is in my shop!” You whispered.

“What?”

“Leonard Patz, is buying flowers from me.” You glanced out of the small window, checking he was still there. He was, just waiting patiently where you’d left him.

“Okay, stay calm. I’m on my way. Has he said anything to you?”

“No. He said he’s buying flowers for a friend called, Ben.” You frowned.

“Okay, Y/N, listen to me. Act normal, take him his flowers, smile, bid him a good day and just stay in the shop. I’ll be there as quick as I can, sweetheart, okay?”

“Okay, don’t worry, I’m not gonna follow the creep, bye.” You quickly hung up and took a deep breath.

You picked up the bunch of flowers and opened the door, stepping out into the front of your shop with warm smile, or so you hoped, and handed the flowers to man in front of you.

“There we go, sir. Hope they’re what you wanted.”

Leonard nodded, “Perfect. Thank you.” He smiled at you. “I’ll most certainly be coming back. Goodbye.”

You nodded, “You too, thank you.” You smiled, giving a small wave as he opened the door and left.

As soon as he walked by, you took in a deep breath and practically fell to the floor. You weren’t sure why but tears started falling and you felt so disgusting being near that man. His eyes, they were just full of evil, and as you knelt on the floor crying, you knew it had to have been him.

The door flew open a little later, startling you, “Y/N?” Andy called out. “Sweetheart?”

You let out a relieved sigh, “Here.” You sniffled.

Andy walked around the counter and dropped to his knees as he cupped your face. “Are you hurt? Did he hurt you?”

You shook your head. “No, I’m fine… I, he…” You drew in a shaky breath. “He, he said, they were for his friend, Ben.” You quickly covered your mouth as a small sob escaped.

Andy wrapped his arms around you and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “It’s okay. I’m here.” He closed his eyes as you cried into his chest. “I’m here.” He whispered. “I need to check that he’s gone, okay? So stay here, yeah?” He asked as he once again cupped your face in his large hands.

You nodded and quickly brush your tears away. “Okay.”

Andy took a deep breath before he leaned in and gave you a short but firm kiss, then stood up and made his way out of your shop. He knew by now Leonard was probably gone and the chances that he knew who you were, were probably slim. But Andy had to make sure you were safe.

His blood ran cold as his eyes met Leonard’s as he stood some distance away down the street. The sick son of a bitch was waiting for Andy, like he knew he’d show up and began to smirk as Andy spotted him.

Andy took a step forwards but something in his peripheral vision stopped him. He looked back at you as you busied yourself tidying things away, and decided Leonard wasn’t that important right now, you were. Without a second glance, Andy made his way back inside to you.

Your eyes widened with panic as you looked at him. “Was he there?”

Andy shook his head. “Looks like he’s gone.” He wrapped his arms around you and closed his eyes as you hugged him, burying your face in his chest. “You’re safe, sweetheart.” He reassured you as he held you in his arms. “C'mon, you should get home.”

You nodded agreeing with him. The two of you quickly gathered your things and then locked the shop up before walking round to where you had parked your car in the alley. But when you got there the thought of getting home and having a nice relaxing bath was quickly vanishing.

“Do you think he did it?” You asked Andy as he assessed your four flat tyres.

Andy shrugged with a frown as he poked at one of the tyres. “Could be, but someone definitely did this on purpose. Looks like all four were slashed.” Andy let out a frustrated sigh as he stood up and walked towards you.

You chewed on your bottom lip nervously as you looked over your shoulder. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

Andy’s brow furrowed, “What do you mean?”

You gulped as you looked over your shoulder again. “There’s been this black car parked outside my shop all day. I’ve noticed it a few times out side my house. I thought maybe it was a cop at first but then–” You drew a deep breath. “I thought it might be something to do with my ex-husband… It’s freaking me out.”

Andy sighed as he wrapped his arms around you. “Don’t worry, okay, we’ll figure this out.”

The Florist next-door… Andy Barber x reader series Part 2/?

<Part 1</>Part 3>

“Just a second!” You called out to the person that had just entered your shop as you finished the task you were doing in the back. You quickly walked out to the front and stopped in your tracks. “Andy?”

He looked up at you and gave you a tired smile as he held up a bag of takeout. “Lunch?”

You nodded, “Come through.” You smiled at him.

He bobbed his head and flipped the close sign over in the door window before flicking the lock into place as if it was muscle memory.

“I got your favorite.” Andy smiled at you as he sat at your work bench beside you.

You smiled excitedly as your stomach began to grumble as you inhaled the delicious smell. “Life saver.”

The two of you began to eat in silence. You hadn’t realised how hungry you actually were until you started eating but as  you stole a glance at Andy every now and then, you could tell something was wrong by the way he was playing with his food.

“What’s wrong?” You asked him, gently placing your hand on his arm. “And don’t say it’s nothing, Andy.”

He looked at you with worry swimming in his eyes as he gulped. “I need to tell you something, but I’m afraid it might make you think differently about me.” His brow furrowed as he looked down at his good. “You might never want to see me again.” He looked up to meet your gaze.

“I don’t understand.” You said.

Andy took a deep breath. “Because of what’s happening with, Jacob, I’ve decided to share something with, Laurie… That’s from my past,” He shook his head. “Before, Laurie and I, even knew each other…”

“Andy, what are you talking about?” You asked as you turned to face him.

“My father, is a convicted rapest and murderer.” He said, refusing to look at you.

Your mouth hung open in shock. That was certainly not what you had expected him to say. “… Whoa.”

Andy let out puff of air through his nostrils as he nodded. “Yeah.”

“I- hmm, why are you telling me this, Andy?” You asked confused.

Andy took a deep breath. “After what happened with your ex, I thought you deserved to know what you were living next door to… The media and the police are gonna be digging into our past and… I wanted to be the one to tell you.” He gave you a soft look.

You nodded and sat quietly as Andy began to tell you about his father. You found it hard to believe that this sweet and caring man in front of you had such a monster as a father.

“Laurie, thinks I betrayed her, by keeping this to myself.” Andy’s head laid in his hands.

Your brow furrowed. “She does?”

He nodded. “Apparently, because I’ve kept this from her for all these years, she’s not sure whether she can ever trust a word I ever said to her.” He let out a dry chuckle, “Like, our whole life together, is just one big fat lie.”

Your mouth hung open again. “Oh.”

“She blamed me, for what’s happening with, Jacob.” He huffed. He looked up at you with a frown. “What do you think? Am I in the wrong? Should I have told her?”

You let out a soft sigh, “I understand why, Laurie, might feel slightly betrayed by you. You guys are married and you shouldn’t have secrets.” Andy groaned as he looked away from you. “But, honestly… I think she’s the one in the wrong.”

Andy’s head shot up, “What?”

“Andy, just because your father, did those horrible things, does not make you the same person. You’re kind and caring, and you certainly love your family. Laurie, should be able to understand why you kept it a secret. I don’t go around telling every guy I go on date with my ex-husband used to beat me.” You frowned.

Andy looked at you with a soft look before he nodded. “Thank you, Y/N.”

You shrugged, “It’s fine… Have, you spoken to, Jacob, about this?”

Andy shook his head, “Not yet.”

You cringed, “Good luck.”

Andy chuckled, “Yeah… That’s gonna go great.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What the-” You pulled up in your driveway before hoping out of the car and started to make your way over the Barber’s driveway where Andy was. “Oh, shit,” You muttered as you saw the graffiti that had been painted onto the side of their house. “Hey,” You whispered as you came to a stop behind him.
Andy looked over his shoulder at you, his face a mixture of anger and hurt. “Hey.” He let out a defeated sigh.
You looked at the horrible words before looking back at Andy. “Need a hand?”
He gulped and shook his head. “No, thank you.”
You frowned, “I don’t mind–”
“I said no!” He snapped.
You took a step back and nodded. “Sorry,”
“Y/N, wait.” Andy got up and stopped you as you began to leave. “I… I’m sorry, okay, I just-” He looked up at your neighbors and shook his head. “The last thing I want, is for you to be tarred with the same brush as us, right now.”
You nodded, “Understood.” You offered him a weak smile before quickly walking away from him, missing the way he looked after you.
After enjoying a relaxing bath you set to work making yourself dinner but as you moved around the kitchen you looked up through kitchen window of Andy and Laurie’s house, and noticed it was pitch black. Andy was still outside cleaning so you assumed Laurie would have been making dinner.
You pulled your cell out your pocket and sent Jacob a text.
You: Have you guys eaten yet?
Jacob: No. Mom’s asleep and dad’s outside. Think we’ll get take out
You: I’m making my dinner now. I’ll make extra and bring it to the back door
Jacob: Awesome. I love your cooking
You smiled to yourself and got on making dinner. You know Andy refused your help earlier but making food was different, it was neighbourly. Once you had dinner made you tubbed enough up for Andy, Laurie and Jacob, and took it over to the house.
“Thanks, Y/N.” Jacob smiled at you as he took the tubs of food out of your hands.
You nodded, “No worries. I best get back or mine will be cold.” You chuckled and quickly bid Jaocb goodbye.
Jacob dived into your cooking, moaning in delight at the flavorsome food. He really did enjoy your cooking, especially those chocolate cookies you make.
“Did your mom cook?” Andy asked as he stepped into the kitchen confused.
Jacob shook his head. “Y/N, brought food over.” He smiled at his dad.
Andy frowned, “She didn’t pass me.”
Jacob shook his head. “She came to the back door. She sent me a text asking if we’d eaten cause she was making food.”
Andy nodded and made a plate up for himself. “Has your mom eaten?”
Jacob sighed, “I told her, Y/N, had dropped some food off for us but she just ignored me. Wouldn’t even open the door.” He frowned looking down at his food. “Can I eat upstairs?”
Andy frowned as he looked over at the dining table where they would usually eat family dinner but right now his home didn’t really feel like it had a family living in it. “Sure buddy.”
Jacob thanked Andy before gathering his things and ran upstairs leaving Andy to sit alone in the kitchen as he ate. He couldn’t shake the feeling he’d been an ass to you earlier, so once he ate, he washed everything up and decided to return your tubs straight away so he can apologise for being such an ass to you.
He knocked on your back door and waited, and eventually you opened the door. You were only wearing sweats with your hair pulled up in a messy bun, but Andy found himself smiling at you in adoration, you’d never looked more beautiful.
“Andy?” You whispered, pulling him out of his thoughts.
He cleared his throat and held the tubs up. “Thank you, for dinner… And, I’m sorry.” He smiled softly at you.
You nodded taking a deep breath as you stepped to the side. “Wine?”
He nodded, “Please.” He followed you in, shutting the door behind himself before placing the tubs on the counter top as you grabbed him a wine glass.
The pair of you headed over to your living room where you’d been sat on the sofa, and sat down as you poured him a glass.
“You don’t need to apologize.” You said to him.
He nodded. “I do. I shouldn’t have snapped.”
You shook your head. “It’s fine, honestly.”
“No, it isn’t. I was frustrated with, Laurie, and I ended up taking it out on you.” He frowned before taking a large gulp of his wine. You sat silently waiting for him to continue. “… She’s doubting, Jacob’s, innocence.” He admitted. “She thinks because of my father, Jacob, could have actually done it.” He shook his head. “Why can’t she just believe that our son, is telling the truth?” Andy closed his eyes as tears began to fill them.
You shook your head, “I think, Laurie, just struggles to believe people when they tell her the truth.” You admitted without thinking.
“What?” Andy looked at you confused.
You shook your head. “I, uh, nothing, ignore what I said.” You grabbed your wine and downed what was left before refilling it.
“No, Y/N, tell me.” Andy nodded.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “Before that night you came over, I… Asked, Laurie, for help.” You admitted.
You shook as you stood on the front doorstep of the Barber residence, waiting for an answer. “Oh, Laurie, hi.” You weren’t expecting Laurie to answer. “Is, Andy, home? I need to speak to him.”
Laurie frowned, “No, he’s away on business.” She went to close the door but you stopped her.
“Can, I talk to you then? Please?” You tried to offer her a smile but failed. You were too scared and hurt.
Laurie nodded, “If you’re quick. Jacob, needs piking up from his club soon.” She frowned.
You nodded and took a deep breath. “I’m not really sure, how to say this but… I, want to leave my husband. You see, we’re not, seeing eye to eye at the minute and I think, it would be best that we got a divorce. But, I’m not sure how to go about it…”
“For heaven’s sake, is that what this is about? Marriage is hard, you have to work at it. Stop playing the victim and grow up. Why don’t you try talking to your husband instead of mine.” Laurie glared at you before slamming the door shut.
Andy stared at you in disbelief. “When?” He asked.
“Hmm… Nine months, before that night you came round. The night before I asked, Laurie, for help, he tried to force me to-” You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “I refused so he just, hit me… I, decided that morning as he went to work after pretending nothing had happened, I wanted out.” You let out a deep sigh. “I don’t know why, Laurie, acted like that, towards me but-”
“She’s jealous.” He frowned.
Your eyes widened in shock. “She’s what?”
Andy nodded and took a deep breath. “Remember that first time you and your ex-husband invited us round for dinner?” He asked.
“Y/N’s, so cool. She has this computer that she plays her games on that’s like something out of Star Trek.” Jacob beamed as he entered the front door. “And, her cookies are the best! Right, dad?”
Andy nodded. “They were the best, I admit.” He chucked as he and Laurie followed.
“Oh, is it okay if I help her with her yard work tomorrow, dad? I said I would if it was okay.” Jacob looked at Andy hopeful.
Andy raised his eyebrow, “You want to help in the yard?”
Jacob nodded, “Y/N, said since her husband was gonna be at work, she needed a big strong man to help so, I said I’d help.” He shrugged. “Can I?”
Andy nodded with a chuckle. “Sure buddy.”
“Great.” Jacob grinned. “Wonder if she’ll have more cookies.”
Andy chuckled as he watched his son run off upstairs to get ready for bed. “I think, someone might have a little crush on our new neighbor.” He smiled at Laurie.
She rolled her eyes. “I think, he’s not the only one.” She muttered.
Andy frowned, “What does that mean?”
“It means, I saw the way you were drooling over her, Andrew.” Laurie snapped.
Andy’s eyes widened, “Are you insane? Why would you say that?”
“Because I’m not stupid, Andy. She’s pretty and young, and niave… You love them like that, don’t you?” Laurie hissed at him as she sloppily poured herself another glass of wine. She was drunk.
Andy let out a deep sigh as he rested his hands on her hips. “You’re being ridiculous, Laurie, you’re my wife.”
She scoffed. “I saw the way you kept defending her, when her husband would disagree with her. He’s right, her cookies are fucking disgusting, they’re too sweet.” She snapped.
Andy rolled his eyes. “You’re jealous, that’s what this is about, isn’t it?”
“NO! This is about that little bitch trying to steal my family away. I don’t want her to hang around, Jacob.”
Andy opened his mouth to say something back when he heard something like a scream come from your house. “Did you hear that?” He asked, looking through the window to yours but the curtains were already drawn.
“It’s nothing, Andy, she’s probably just a screamer. They are married, after all.”
You sat in silence as each of your stories sank in.
“I did hear you scream that night, didn’t I?” Andy asked.
You nodded. “He said, it was your fault he was hitting me. He saw the way I was encouraging you, to look at me.” You rolled your eyes. “He used to do that, come up with bogus reasons to hurt me.”
Andy looked at you. He could still see the pain in your eyes as you spoke about what you went through. And now he felt even more guilt because of what Laurie had done or what she hasn’t done.
“I’m sorry.” You said in unison making you both smile.
“What are you sorry for?” You asked Andy.
He sighed, “For, Laurie, being so hostile towards you. You’ve been nothing but a friend and all she’s done is be so rude towards you.” He frowned. “I appreciate everything you’ve done for me and Jacob. I don’t think I’d have coped as much as I have if I didn’t have you on our side.” He gave you a warm smile.
You nodded, “Well, you were there for me so… What are friends for?” You shrugged, feeling your cheeks flush.
Andy nodded, “Why are you sorry?”
“It seems I’ve done nothing but cause problems for you.” You frowned, “Maybe, I should back off. I don’t want to be pestering, Laurie, if I make her uncomfortable.”
Andy shook his head before downing the rest of his wine. “Seriously, Y/N, you haven’t done anything wrong. I think… I think perhaps, Laurie, has finally realised that, our marriage, isn’t as perfect as she had been pretending. Everything that’s happened recently has just made it noticeable.” Andy admitted with a sigh. He looked down to his watch and frowned. “I should, get back home.” He stood up from the couch.
“Yeah, if cours.” You followed after him.
“Thank you, for the chat… And dinner, and wine.” He smiled softly at you as you stood at your back door. “Just… Thank you, Y/N.”
You nodded. “Any time.” You smiled back.
As the two of you looked at each other you could feel their was some new found awkward tension in the air between you.
“Well… Goodnight.” Andy whispered as he looked down at you.
You hummed, chewing on your bottom lip as you nodded. “Goodnight, Andy.” You leaned up to press a kiss to his bearded cheek. You instantly regretted it, you couldn’t remember the last time you kissed his cheek, if ever. “Sorry, I–”
Andy’s large hands cradled your face as he crashed his lips against yours in a bruising kiss that was all tongue and teeth. You let out a deep moan as you clutched his jumper in your hands. If it wasn’t for the sound of Andy’s cell ringing you weren’t sure you’d have stopped, but you did and quickly realized what you’d just done. Andy pulled his cell out in a panic and closed his eyes with a breath before answering.
“Hey, Jacob, what’s up?” He gave you a sorrowful look as he pulled open your kitchen door before stepping out and shutting it behind him.
You quickly locked the door before you began crying and guilty coursed your veins. What the fuck!
Andy’s large hands cradled your face as he crashed his lips against yours in a bruising kiss that was all tongue and teeth. You let out a deep moan as you clutched his jumper in your hands. If it wasn’t for the sound of Andy’s cell ringing you weren’t sure you’d have stopped, but you did and quickly realized what you’d just done. Andy pulled his cell out in a panic and closed his eyes with a breath before answering.
“Hey, Jacob, what’s up?” He gave you a sorrowful look as he pulled open your kitchen door before stepping out and shutting it behind him.
You quickly locked the door before you began crying and guilty coursed your veins. What the fuck!
“Honey, we’re gonna be late,” Andy shouted from the bottom of the stairs. “Honey?!” he shouted out again, not getting an answer the first time.
“Coming,” he heard you call down from the bedroom.
Andy fixed his tie in the hallways mirror, making sure he was presentable for the work party tonight.
“Remember when you said the last work event was so boring, we should spice it up?” he heard you say as you descended the stairs.
“Yep.“
“Well… ”
Andy watched your reflection come into view in the mirror, your feet finally landing on the hardwood, heels clicking on the ground.
“…I thought we could do that tonight?” you finished, a twinkle in your eye as you smiled at the back of his head.
Andy turned to face you, absently adjusting himself in his pants. “I was just kind of thinking to drop some Molly in the punch bowl,” he said, taking in your appearance in full with a hitch in his breath.
You stood before him - black stiletto heels on your feet - with a sleek black - perfectly tailored to your body - two-piece suit. Crisp white blouse underneath with mother-of-pearl buttons neatly done up to the top. You wore a necktie, with a perfectly centred knot, that complimented his, and a fedora - that should have been cheesy - but goddamn it was anything but - atop your head, your hair falling beautiful from underneath it. And your lips - the deepest and brightest red lipstick, matted to perfection.
You closed the distance with your husband, gliding over the floor, fingers wrapping around his tie to make sure it was snug enough.
Andy coughed as you pushed the knot to his throat, his Adam’s apple bouncing as he swallowed hard.
When you stood back, your smile was sweet and loving, but your eyes were dark with a certain type of power. You brought a finger to your bright red lips, dragging your nails down your chin and throat, over the snug collar of your blouse, before letting your hand fall to your crotch.
The gleaming black trousers couldn’t hide the bulge in the front of your pants. Andy’s hands dropped to the front of his own pants, cupping the sudden swelling there as the knowledge of what you were doing finally settled in.
I am fucking howling, bitch.
I have never seen such an in depth essay in response to my work.
I hope I did you proud. I know you love your subby men and I couldn’t quite make him man (because I love being the one thrown around the bathroom stall of an office party), but I do enjoy a switch up. Seriously, I had more fun writing this than actually pegging someone in real life. Probably because it wasn’t Andy.
I am so glad you enjoyed it, and Andy has no issues if you want to peg swarmy Neal. It’ll leave that prick a blubbering mess on the floor and Andy could take his cases.
I love you so much, Natalie
Also, the ruined recliner? Just get Ransom to lap that shit up. He loves it, the good little pup.
This is just a small way to show off the overwhelming amount of talent on this site. This will be updated regularly.
- Andy Barber -
Collideby@avintagekiss24
I have heart eyes for this Alpha!Andy fic. I am truly captivated by both the writing style and the execution of this story, and how thrilling and unnerving the A/B/O dynamics can be if you are thrown into that world. It’s poetic and charming, and Brittany is massively talented. I’ve read it maybe a dozen times. Chef kisses all around.
- Ari Levinson -
Taste of Honeyby@imaginedreamwrite
I’ve only just started down this rabbit hole, but Werebear!Ari is such an intense character! The writing is sensational, and the underlying ideas of Ari being protective and possessive and so in tune with the environment have the hair on my neck standing up. I love him. I’m scared of him. I’m scared of what else could be lurking in the shadows. Chef kisses all around.
- Billy Russo -
An Alter For Our Sinsby@becauseicantthinkwritings
This is Demon!Billy content I am living and dying for. Billy is so sinful and seductive and protective. Chelsea, I am in misery…in the best way. He’s the monster of my dreams. Chef kisses all around.
- Bucky Barnes -
Still Waters by @bonkywobble
This is Cryptid!bucky. It’s swamp Monster!bucky. And it managed to be so sinister and heartbreakingly beautifulthat this is a top contender for me. I want to run away from Bucky. I don’t want him to be alone. I want peace. I don’t know how Georgie did it, but I’m shattered and made whole all at the same time. Chef kisses all around.
Just a Scratchby@angrythingstarlight
Okay, full stop I am a sucker for Mafia/Mob!Bucky fics. They just hit some kind of way, and Star is an absolute casanova of a writer. If you are looking for a protective, domineering mobster you’ve come to the right place. Chef kisses all around.
The Girl In the Moviesby@slothspaghettiwrites
Have you ever been so enamored by someone’s writing? Because Sloth creates S tier content, and she wrote a wickedly saccarine Yandere!Bucky that will both charm and unnerve you. He’s so head over heels for the reader. I seize up after reading it but keep finding myself going back. Chef kisses all around.
First and Lastby@navybrat817
Alpha!Bucky is nothing less than an absolutely cunning predator. Navy, I swear I lose my breath every time a come across this story. The reader is super successful at evading her destiny - until she can’t of course. Bucky is possessive and powerful and I love it. Chef kisses all around.
- Nick Fowler -
Truth Untoldby@lavendercitizen
Soft!Dark!Nick is a soft spot for me, and even if he is burning the world down he’s not leaving without his girl. Rae is such a beautiful writer, and the soft and possessive storytelling makes my knees weak. I know that I definitely wouldn’t tell him no. It’s a delicate display of power. Chef kisses all around.
- Steve Rogers -
Blood in the Waterby@giorno-plays-piano
There’s just something hypnotic about Merman!Steve that brings me to a full stop. I know I shouldn’t be so invested, but here I am, and I’ve probably read this two-part piece of art a dozen times. He’s the hyperfixation when you’re lying in bed waiting for sleep to meet you. He’s the nightmare of your dreams. I just can’t handle it. Chef kisses all around.
Oh The Perfect Man my ass.  I knew there was something I didn’t quite like about where this was going and as it turned out I loved it as a result.  That said though I am left to question the guy who attacked her.  Knowing now what Andy is capable of, would he take that extra step?  Would he really manipulate a date just so he could play the part of a knight in shining armor?  If not, he’s still pretty despicable and if he did, he’s worse than we thought.  Still hot as hell either way though.  Fabulous piece Suz.
Honestly my first thought was to make it so that Andy manipulated the date but I didn’t have enough words so it’s all open for your interpretation maybe he did, and maybe he just knew where she was because he was stalking her, who knows thank you for reading, Christy! I’m so glad you liked it
You had been living and working with Andy for just over a month now. It was going… well. There were some days that you thought he was the best guy in the whole world for offering what he did for you, he paid you more than the job was worth, he never everlet you chip in for gas, he didn’t mind if you slept in the spare room, or in his bed, and he fucked like he was built for it, and your pleasure was the only thing he cared about. In fact, the only real stipulation he had was that you went out to get lunch for the office (so it didn’t look like he was playing favourites too much, he said), and that you cooked dinner in as skimpy clothing as possible.
Apparently he hadn’t been joking about that, but seeing as he often let his hands idly travel under your clothing and make cooking that much more enjoyable, you couldn’t say you minded too much.
There were also the days that, to be quite honest, you thought he was getting way too clingy, which was weird for a guy who ran his own law office, had been divorced, and was frankly way too attractive to be feeling this insecure all the time. On these days, you spent just a little longer at the deli picking up everyone’s order, just so you could talk with the owner there; a guy called Sam.
Sam was nice, friendly, and he had a smile that could light up the room, helped in part by a gap toothed smile that could woo any woman he fancied. Unfortunately he had already wooed his husband - a guy named Bucky, but you hadn’t met him - but still, he was nice to look at, and was always chatty when you came in, today being no exception.
“Hey there she is! I was wondering if you were coming in today!”
“Yeah, of course! As if I could stay away from that BLT of yours!”
Sam snorted, shaking his head, “I knew it, always in here for my food, and not my company.” He set to work grabbing the usual ingredients for your usual orders, “So, you thought any more about my offer, Y/N?”
“I don’t know, Sam…” After having a random rant about living and working with your boyfriend, Sam had offered you a job in his shop, you would be serving, obviously, but he was thinking of opening another cafe, and he wanted to train someone up to help him run both places. His husband ran a bookstore, so whilst they had plans for eventual world domination with a cafe and bookstore hybrid, they were trying to build up both businesses individually first.
It sounded tempting, but you weren’t sure you wanted to give up on all you had done so far as a legal secretary. It was a really interesting field and there was a lot of progression in it… unfortunately you were more or less blacklisted from anywhere else due to your old boss firing you, so Andy’s firm was your only option if you wanted to stay on this career path for now.
Changing careers would be hard, but it might be fun.
“Can I let you know on Monday, Sam? I don’t want to rush into this, you know?”
“Yeah, that’s smart. Okay then, babygirl, I’ll talk to you more on Monday, and here’s your stuff.” He threw a red velvet cupcake into the bag and winked, “Yeah, that’s a bribe, Y/N, I really want you under me, have a good weekend!”
You laugh at that, leaving the cafe and ducking your head against the wind and rain that had randomly picked up in the ten minutes you were in there. You fumbled in your bag to grab your umbrella, and almost ran back to the office, bumping into Andy as he was also coming back in. You quickly pull him away from the door and kiss him,
“I thought you were on a phone call when I left?”
“Yeah, it finished quicker than I thought, so I went to get you these.” Andy held up the flowers he had been hiding behind his back, “Happy Friday, sweetheart.” He kissed you a little deeper, pulling back and turning so he could shelter you from the wind, “How about that for managerial skills? You wouldn’t get that anywhere else.” He kisses you again before you can respond, and you frown lightly against his lips, but you soon forget what he just said. Andy just kisses that well, it’s a technique he uses often.
“I have to work late tonight, Y/N, so I’ll call you an Uber home, okay?” Andy murmurs after you pull apart, and turns towards the office, “I want to get this paperwork finished so we can have a good weekend.”
“Oh. Okay. What time will you be back?”
“Not sure. Don’t wait up.” He smiles that smile that you both love and hate. The one that makes him look like a sinner and a saint, the grey clouds only adding to his dark allure.
You think you’re asleep, but it’s that weird point between dreaming and waking where fantasy bleeds into reality, where your limbs don’t belong to you, and you’re kind of not mad about it. You think it’s still storming outside, the creaking of the trees in the wind, the patter of the rain against the windows, the screams of the wind through the rumbling of the thunder, somehow it all blends with the soft dreams you were having… Andy was home with you… your dream… or maybe he was back… you turn onto your front, hugging the pillow that smelled like Andy…
“Good girl, I have you, don’t be scared…”
Of course you weren’t scared, Andy was holding you in your dream… or for real… no, he was still at the office, he told you he would have to spend the night there…
“Everything will be fine now. You don’t ever need to worry, sweetheart… shhh…”
This dream is nice. Andy is somehow even better in a dream than he is in real life. His touch is more tender, he takes impossibly longer, it’s almost like he wants you to be still…
“Shhh… open up for me, Y/N… let me take a look at you…”
You swear you can almost feel him, those callused fingers against your nipples, cool fingertips stroking over your soft flesh… you feel cold suddenly, there’s hot air at your cunt…
And then it disappears again, so you roll onto your back… the part of you that isn’t dreaming, the part that’s listening to the wind and the rain and the breathing in the room wishes that you hadn’t taken that sleeping pill, or had that extra glass of wine… your limbs were so heavy, and the dream was so intense… or was it a dream… you’re getting warm again, the good kind of warm, the kind that Andy likes to make you when he takes his time on you…
Andy is so good at taking his time…
“You’re perfect, Y/N… your perfect cunt, perfect mouth, perfect perfect perfect…”
That warmth is building, it’s loud, louder than the storm outside, you can feel it building inside, you can feel itinside, moving, wanting, needing…
“So perfect for me, my sweetheart… you stay asleep… everything will be perfect when you wake up…”
The dream that’s not a dream, finishes, and you think the storm starts to quiet. When you wake up, you think you must have tossed and turned a lot as your t-shirt has ridden up, and your panties are all ruched up and part way down your hips. You feel oddly tender when you walk to the shower, and smile when you see Andy downstairs waiting for you, sitting on the couch with a coffee.
“I got here about twenty minutes ago, but you were so peaceful looking, I left you to rest. So,” he gently tugs you to stand in between his legs, putting his hands up the back of your thighs, “what do you want to do today?”
Monday comes, and you decide for sure that - even though you appreciated the offer - you were going to turn Sam down. You might not loveworking with Andy, but you really like being with him. You’d talked to him at length over the weekend, about how you wanted to do more, not just be a secretary forever, and there was a possibility of you going back to school to start an official law qualification. You could work with Andy part time for the experience, and go to school for the rest of the week. It would work out great for you, even though you didn’t tell Andy, it would give you both some much needed space. You really thought you might be falling for him, you didn’t want to end it too soon.
Andy was happy as he drove you both to work, you might’ve even said smug, but seeing as you had surprised him at the front door by going to your knees for him, pushing him back up against the blue painted wood before he could fully open it, you figured he deserved to look a little smug.
He’s just treated you so well over the weeked, listening to you, helping you understand what could work for you going forwards, you wanted to try to make him feel as special as he made you feel.
Lunch time rolled around, and you did what you always did, grabbed everyone’s orders, and headed to Sam’s cafe… and stopped dead as you realised that the place was dark and the door was locked. You peered inside, frowning when you noticed it looked like it was empty. You spot the A5 notice taped to the door, your frown deepening as you read;
We are now closed, and this establishment will be moving to a new location in the coming weeks, please keep an eye out on our socials for more information!
A weird shiver of unease went up your spine, but you shook it off, trying to smile at the thought of Sam and his husband hopefully being able to start their joint business. You sent a text to Sam, scolding him for not telling you he was leaving town, but wishing him the best of luck, and then called Andy,
“The cafe is closed, apparently the owner just upped and left. I’m surprised to be honest, I thought-” you cut yourself off, it didn’t matter about the job offer anyway, you were going to turn it down, “anyway, where do you guys want lunch from instead, babe?”
“I think there’s another deli a couple of blocks up, it’s pretty new, give that place a try?” Andy’s voice is low, “Be back soon.”
There’s a smile in his voice, you can hear it, you just don’t know why.
I got the impression from reading that Andy was once again up to no good but I didn’t think it would be this. Guess he really does plan on removing any and all temptation from her path. Absolutely fabulous.
“Objection”
“Sustained”
The pregnant silence in the courtroom had you squeezing your eyes shut. You’d sustained this objection without even listening to it, even before he was finished speaking. The defense was staring at you open mouthed, the blatant favoritism obvious to everyone.
Your eyes found Andy’s who was almost as dumbfounded as you, though also a little amused. You knew presiding over his cases so close to your heat would be a bad idea, but you didn’t know it would be bad enough that you’ll be agreeing with everything he said. You were a judge, one of the most prominent ones known for being impartial, and yet here you were, bending over backwards because the prosecutor on the case pounded your shape into his mattress every night.
night time routine
warnings: none jus fluff!
pairing: chris evans x fem!reader
summary: a lil rundown of what you and steve do before going to bed!
a/n: i jus want chris to snuggle me while falling asleep ;—;
  • normally before you and chris goto bed you’re laying on the couch or sitting in his lap, catching up on whatever show you’re currently binging
  • chris is usually the one still watching while you’re all snuggled up wrapped in a blanket half asleep or on your phone scrolling through instagram or sumin
  • once the episode ends, he’ll gently pat you, letting you know he’s ready to head to bed
  • “c’mon dodger let’s get to bed buddy”
  • the pup would be laying with you, instantly hopping off and searching for what lion he wants to bring
  • you and chris always place your bets, him winning most of the time
  • which ends up in you pouting “not fair” crossing your arms
  • but you get over it quickly when he peppers your face in kisses and mumbles “next time you’ll get it i know you will”
  • while you head to the bedroom with dodger chris always walks through the house locking all the doors, checking everything is secure bc he must protecc
  • meanwhile, you’re throwing your clothes on the floor, searching for a shirt (most likely his) to wear to bed before going to the bathroom
  • chris joins you, grabbing his toothbrush while he watches you do your skincare routine
  • this is when you try to continue to encourage him to try a bit of it
  • “baby c’mon this will hydrates your skin, plus it’s anti-aging”
  • “are you saying i’m looking old?”
  • “shut up, you know you don’t look old. not even close
  • “mhmm”
  • when you’re not looking, chris tries the product because he secretly is insecure about the fact that he’s at the end of his 30s but doesn’t want you to know
  • you finally brush your teeth, chris hugging you from behind, peppering kisses on your shoulder while rubbing your sides
  • he’ll look at you in the mirror, giving a goofy smile. “‘m love you. i’ll meet you in bed, honey”
  • chris basically peels off all his clothing before hopping into bed, getting in a couple pages of his current read with dodger laying on him
  • when you come out, you see your favorite view
  • your amazing sweet loving boyfriend sprawled on the bed with a book in hand with his fur baby on his chest in the glowing light of the lamp next to him
  • it makes your heart swell and stomach flutter at how you got so lucky to have chris in your life
  • before seeming like a creep, you join the two in bed, plugging your phone in and crawling under the blankets
  • “cuddle me please, bub” you mutter to him, turning to lay on your side
  • “let me finish this, give me a second, sweetheart.” his voice would be all raspy and deep from not speaking for a bit, giving you a warm smile before finishing the page he was on
  • once he was done, he’d set the book down and turn off the light before opening his side for you
  • immediately you curl up next to him, laying your head right on his chest, face to face with a sleepy dodger as chris rubs your back
  • he presses chaste kisses to your hairline, shutting his own eyes
  • “is your book good?” you ask tiredly, shutting your eyes as your soothed by the sound of his heartbeat and his calloused fingers running along your spine
  • “i’d say so. just started it but i think’ll be good”
  • you’d hum, sighing softly. “thats good to hear”
  • the two of you chat about random things as you get sleepier with each minute that goes by. eventually chris knows when you’re about to fall asleep
  • when he does, he whispers against your forehead a “g’night, ‘m love you”
  • “love you” you mumble into his skin before eventually drifting off to sleep, breathing in the sweet scent of his now very faded cologne of whatever contents were still clinging to his skin
  • at one point he’ll roll you onto your side, tucking the blanket right under your chin how you like it before moving dodger lower on the bed to crawl under the blankets himself
  • before he shuts his eyes, he looks at your sleeping figure smiling to himself gently before finally going to sleep himself
  • he cant wait to see his girl and little buddy the next time he opens his eyes first thing in the morning <3333
pairing: chris evans x fem!reader
warnings: some cursing
a/n:i was listening to ariana grande earlier and pictured this so vividly so i needed to write sumin karaoke night with chris bc ik baby boy would be living his best life drinking and singin’ all night
  • at least once a month or when chris was home, you and chris would have a karaoke night whether it was with his family or just the two of you
  • you’d be drinking beers, order take out and use the special plastic toy mic you bought for singing, overall a chill ass night
  • chris would love to do all the classic 80s and disney songs of course, belting out on songs like let it go from frozen to don’t stop believing by journey
  • your personal favorite would be duets with chris because the two of you always ended up a giggly blushy mess
  • 3 beers in tonight, you were feeling a duet now with your big goofy boyfriend
  • “aw shit it better not be another ariana grande song” “babe, you know its gonna be another ari song! it’s tradition!”
  • your favorite was doing ariana grande so of course you searched up a classic duo song from ari: problem
  • the second chris saw it he’s groaning because you both know he’s not the best at rapping but nonetheless he gets up from the couch ready to duet it with you
  • grabbing your microphone, you sang along to ari’s lyrics, looking right at chris, grabbing out his hand while he did the little background vocals for you rolling his eyes as you wiggled to the song
  • when the chorus hit, you spun around giggling as he whispered ‘i got one less problem with ya’ before he grabbed your hand, pulling you into his embrace starting to dance with you
  • the two of you held back your laughs, smiling big until the both of knew what was coming next
  • chris turned to the tv to see the lyrics as he tried to spit iggy arzaylea’s rap
  • “it’s iggy iggs! uh- what you got? smart money betting, i’ll be better without you uh- fuck, umm, you say you really know but i really really doubt you understand my life is easy when i aint around you!”
  • full on sassy chris would be in your presence, waving his finger at you, rapping to his best of his abilities while you cheered him on
  • also his bostonian accent would probably come out as he rushes his words out, making it a little hot to watch ;)
  • “theres a million yous baby boo so don’t be dumb, i got 99 problems but you won’t be one like WHAAAT?”
  • he’d probably do an air micdrop looking at you giving a cheesy swagger look while you belted out the last part of the song
  • once it was finally done you’d clap smiling, getting up on your tippy toes to peck his lips “i think secretly deep down you love when i choose ariana for karaoke”
  • “she’s alright,” he’d smirk, smiling down at you as he gave a squeeze to your hips before giving you a peck back “i only do them because you look really fuckin’ cute getting all into it”
  • the rest of the night the two of you would be plopped on the couch probably doing disney songs
  • chris’ favorite song to do with you would be i see the light because every time he sang it with you, you’d get all shy and blushy and he loved seeing the affect he had on his girl
  • also you always end up in tears at the end and he adores giving you kisses and hugs to cheer you up
  • but when it was time to pump shit up again you guys would do some elton john or bon jovi and someones dodger would join in trying to make some harmonies with his little howls
  • by the time it’s one am though, the two of you would be karaoked out for the night and end with you getting a piggy back ride on chris to the bedroom to get ready for bed <3
Summary: Two strangers meet in a crowded room. You can’t fight fate, but what if fate is fighting you?
There is something about Boston in springtime that always brings out the romantic in you. Maybe it was the beautiful greenery of the parks, trees blossoming; or the scent of freshly bloomed flowers that seemed to linger on the wind. This year, you suspected the heavy influence of the wedding industry, though always out in full force, garnering a premium with the nonstop swath of ceremonies between April to June.
You and your fellow bridesmaids learned this all too well whilst assisting your friend Jo as she planned her wedding. Unlike some brides, who would get cold feet or transform into a raging, demanding bridezilla, Jo remained level-headed, happy and eager to be married and begin her life with her future husband. As usual, she focused on the positive. “It’s not about the wedding. That’s just one day, and a big party where we get to celebrate. What I’m looking forward to is the marriage.”
Tonight, she glows radiantly with happiness as she struts her stuff on the dance floor. And why not? In two short weeks, she’d be marrying the love of her life.
Your fellow bridesmaids gathered around her, laughing, giggling, and drinking margaritas. Lacy had Becca and Mal in stitches, sharing a hilarious account of her new job in Quincy. Jules, shamelessly flirting with the bartender, seemed to have the man entranced, batting her eyes like a southern belle while tracing a fingertip around the lip of her mostly empty glass.
The pounding music echoed through your chest as you floated beside Jo, steering unwanted male attention away from the bride to be. A gigantic “Bride” tiara would be sufficient, but even with her added white ‘bride’ sash, men will be men, won’t they?
The limousine and its driver were outside on standby, ready to ferry your group to the next location. As the unofficial ‘Mom friend’, you’d committed to helping your friends with small favors for the evening. Jo requested your help steering away any ‘creepers’, something you took immense pleasure in. Especially when engaging in the art of confusion. Becca, Jo’s maid of honor, asked you to help her herd cats and keep your crew to a schedule. Lacy was moving closer to an amazing new job and planned to crash at your place tonight.
The alarm on your smartwatch vibrated, reminding you it was time to move on. You nodded to Becca, who was checking her phone and smiling–as usual, the two of you were in sync. Eager to proceed to your last stop—a concert at a jazz bar; you and Becca ushered your friends back to the entrance, giggling the entire way.
A gentle hand on your arm stopped you, spinning you around. Your heart skipped a beat. The man in front of you was everything you looked for in a guy. Tall, broad shouldered and well groomed, he filled out the cut of his dress shirt well. His with twinkling blue eyes mesmerized you. He leaned in, rapidly whispering into your ear. “I’m sorry to spring this on you, but my ex is heading this way and… can I kiss you?”
Your body was writing checks that your mind wasn’t yet ready to cash. Before you had a moment to think, you were nodding and his lips collided with yours. The handsome stranger kissed you the way you wanted to be kissed for the rest of your life. His full lips were soft, tasting of whiskey and promises as he cradled you to his chest. Your hands carded through his thick hair, tugging gently as he pressed you against a nearby pillar.
“Tick Tock, Momma,” Becca hollered at you. “We’ve gotta go!”
Shit. This wasn’t you. You weren’t normally one to make out with random men in bars. You’d send them away, deflecting with your rapier wit, but something about this hunk bypassed… or perhaps disabled your defenses.
Breaking the kiss, you blinked owlishly into his lust blown eyes and you shook your head as Lacy took your hand, pulling you to the entrance. “I’m sorry. My ride’s leaving!”
His full brows furrowed, and his kiss-swollen lips fell open in shock at your sudden departure. The door closed behind you before he could say a word.
Damn. You didn’t even get his name.
