sneak peek of a work that I’m very, very proud of, for @wowxwow_art ’s Fiends of the Dark III group show! It opens this Friday on their website and let me tell you, the work from so many artists is unbelievable. This painting poured right out of my heart and means so much to me - I cannot wait to show you the whole thing - Patreon|Etsy|Instagram
Actually, painted about 75% of this a couple years ago. It was strange and interesting picking up a painting again after a longer gap, and noticing areas that could be changed or improved upon. Also, a mysterious challenge in trying to guess and match color mixes. I think I did alright, but should probably start taking color notes if I make this a habit, lol - Patreon|Etsy|Instagram
Also, this is going to be the Patreon Mini-Print this month! So far it’s been rare to see GO related content outside of sketchbooks over on my Patreon, if you’d like an archival 4x6" print, you can join my Mini-Print tier before the end of December.
I don’t know how it is that I’ve never painted snakeform Crowley, and my experience in painting snakes at all is limited, it was long overdue!
Painting those scales was weird. I have a feeling there will be more. - Patreon|Etsy|Instagram

Whenever I decide to post something online, I make sure that it is perfect from top to bottom. This includes lighting, color, concept, anatomy and all the other great stuff. I’ve always been a firm believer in “quality over quantity”, which is one of the reasons why I only post my best drawings and skip over the ones that I deem unworthy of an upload. But sometimes, planets and stars don’t align in our favour and we get bad days. This was not a good day for me. From the beginning, I was dissatisfied with the proportions of the face and the fact that I had to erase the sketch layer multiple times. I decided to use a brush pen for inking ,which is notorious for being a tough tool to master, and ended up smudging the ink in multiple places. When it came to watercolors, I was so impatient that whenever I would try to add a new layer, I would end up lifting off the previous one with my soaked water-brush. What’s worse, I didn’t even have the proper lighting for decent pictures and almost gave up on posting this as a whole. But then I realized that making mistakes and showing this to others is not a bad thing. Actually, it proves that you are not a robot and that, just like any other human being, you have ups and downs. I hope that this will encourage people to embrace their self-perceived failures as happy accidents and to learn from them. P.S: Sorry for the rant, I felt like it was necessary.
