Ash Gryphinx Room Guardian

Gryphinxes are an original species. They have a barn owl face with a foxlike body and human hands.

This gryphinx has a rose quartz crystal heart and it stands about 13" tall. It has a coat of hand sewn faux fur that is very soft. Its neck and tail have a fully posable ball and socket armature inside that will not wear out over time. Its arms have a fully posable wire armature that can also be posed easily. The head was cast in durable resin and the hands and paws were sculpted with a flexible clay that can bend without breaking.

This spoon was inspired by a 10 minute long chance encounter with a young wild Barn Owl. I was so moved by the experience that I knew I had to capture the essence of it in a carving.

I arrived home yesterday evening after a long and difficult drive to this female barn owl feather blessing in our forest. The tip of its quill was glowing white and soft in the moonlight. As I sat down to check and respond back to emails and comments in the most timely and synchronistic way I received some wonderful messages from friends @terrifoss and @lushfolk. Like owls on silent wings these ladies sent warm and heartfelt words when it mattered most.

I feel very grateful to have such amazing women in my life who encourage, inspire and uplift, and it is a joy to witness and participate in the unfolding of spirit and support in this community. Thank you for the beautiful notes that you left me on yesterday’s orders for the Venus & Gold jewels friends. It is an honor for me to create for you, and I am grateful to have such kind and intuitive spirits connect deeply with what I do. I was on the verge of trying to pick out details on the wings but the #clay is quite dry after forgetting him for three weeks (!) so I didn’t think it was worth the risk. He was very front heavy until I shaved down the base so I found him this morning having rolled onto his face (!!), but he’s turned out okay.
