Photos from my wonderfully supportive friend (and mega-talented author) Debbie Rigaud, who posted them to her instagram.

These are going to her kids– it means a lot to me to create work that can help Black children feel seen and loved and represented.

That is especially important right now.

Finally get to share the full faux ad that I created for @fantasyfashionzine

This was a super fun top-down project, where I got to have full creative control and flex both my art and my storytelling muscles; from the “models” and illustrations, to the layout, lettering, logos, and the very text itself.

With this ad, I wanted to lean all the way into the typical princess-in-a-tower dreamlike fantasy vibe, and draw from some of my favorite campaigns from my old teen magazines, like the Vera Wang “Princess Revolution” lookbooks. Using various flower elements I’ve collected over the years and a wonderful watercolor .ai brush from Artifex Forge, I think I pulled it off!

(And also had way too much fun coming up with the trope-y names.)
