What do we think of a new cover idea?

Forgive the awkward self portrait if you can. I didn’t have time to design my own Ms. Frizzle. (Who can compete with her, anyway!)

In the main lineup, left to right, we have Zara (EchoChamber Armor), Brach (Civilian Gear), Cora (Trailrazor Armor), Linn (Civilian Gear) and Kyle (Hazmaxx Armor), the main dinos of the series concept. The figures are designed with shoulder articulation in mind, great for blind-packs and multi-packs.

Another workmanlike CGI illustration of Brachiosauruses on the beach, from Josh Gregory’s imaginatively titled Brachiosaurus.  I don’t know why this particular juxtaposition appeals to me so, but notably I do see it a lot in kids’ books.

Stretching from Montana to New Mexico over 150 million years ago, the Morrison formation is famous for its abundant sauropod population, from Camarasaurus, to Diplodocus, to the most notable among them, the mighty Brachiosaurus!

Happy Halloween everybody!

So for a little bit now I’ve been putting together these palettes of different color schemes the JP dinos have had across the franchise over the years. Seemed themey to release them today what with everyone wearing all manner of costumes and makeup and such tonight.

I’ve had a lot of fun making these even though I only have two to show off at the moment. I intend to do a lot more, so I’ll probably be gradually sharing more of these as time goes on. Hope people enjoy!

As a special treat, I got some previews for that JP thing I was talking about the other day. Will be showing off some finished pieces on Halloween. Enjoy!

I wanted to practice drawing some sauropod feet and just ended up drawing their whole bodies minus the cool parts. I am clearly not good enough to have done these from scratch yet, so I drew these off models for The Isle done by Jake Baardse because he seems to have a good grip on animal anatomy and I love his stuff.

Day 1 of Dinovember, who’s surprised I’m doing this. An Allosaurus takes shade in the shadow of a resting Brachiosaurus during the height of the Morrison Summer.
