#allosaurus
Probably not something anyone expected but I love dinosaurs and did some quick studies of my allosaurus character and her in-game mother.

Forgot to upload these the other night, this is a pair of Morrison JP dinos I finished the day of the Dominion poster drop. Enjoy!
A little something to tide you over while I continue to try and finish my Pokemon pieces.
Size charts are oddly therapeutic.
Been sort of busy the past two weeks or so and haven’t been able to post unfortunately. But, it’s Dinovember and it would be a shame if I let this pass me by. While I kinda missed the ball on doing a drawing everyday this month, I figured I would take this opportunity to post throughout the month when I can and do some anatomy practice with stuff I’m not great at/familiar with.
Here are the left arms of some theropods I reconstructed off of pictures of skeletal mounts and arm bones that I found online. I referenced some basic theropod musculature pictures online to get the build and major muscles in, and looked at bare chicken wings, eagle talons, and crocodile feet for texture. The VelociraptorandT. rex are missing any possible heavy feather coatings as these are meant to emphasize form and musculature.
Doing all the tiny scales on Allo and Majunga were super fun and not tedious or painstaking at all. They reminded me of why I don’t like to texture my drawings very often. But I guess I should still get in some practice doing texture anyway.
fools. I was a palaeoartist the whole time
Repaint time!
I could only get the green toned Allosaurus toy from Jurassic World, even though I prefer the blue/tan colouring so I decided to repaint him.

We have the greatest visitors! Here’s @aaikerogier with our special guest Arkhane in the Gallery of Evolution.
This specimen - a new species of Allosaurus according to our palaeontologists - was excavated in 2014 in central Wyoming. It’s 155 million years old (Jurassic), 8.7 metre long and 70% complete.
We’ve made a three-part series (+ bonus episode) on this incredible specimen: who is he or she? Why do our paleontologists think it is a new allosaur species? How old was Arkhane when it died? How fast did it grow compared to other dinosaurs? And what about its late-night snack: the nanosaurus?
Arkhane, the new Jurassic dinosaur
