Body positivity is a journey. It’s not a case of deciding to love your body and you’re happy ever after. There are times when you feel on top of the world and times when you feel mega self critical. And that’s ok. It’s about learning to be kind to yourself. A few weeks ago, I had a professional photoshoot with @velvet_damour_official. It was a massive step forward for me, after the agoraphobia I developed last year, plus I gained a lot of weight. I’ve lost a bit of weight since the photos were taken, so when I first cast my eyes over the images, my self critical eyes were in overdrive. But this is me, and I find there’s something so raw and sensual about the images. They’re unapologetically saying, “this is me - take me as I am!” And I love them! Velvet totally put me at ease right from the very start and is the sweetest, kindest, most supportive, lovely lady you could hope to meet. Plus she takes amazing photos! It’s her birthday today and so I’d like to wish her a wonderful day and if you or your loved one is thinking of having a pro photoshoot, I can’t recommend her highly enough!
