Books and tea! What else do you need to bring home from vacation? Super excited that I was finally able to track down We Don’t Eat Our Classmates. Also that mix and match book on the left is gorgeous and fun and amazing. Add two Abby Howard Earth Before Us books, two used romance novels, and a pile of different teas, and I’m a super happy reader.

Out and About is a silent sequence comic book great for all ages. How do you get the most out of a “silent sequence” book? Here are a few tips:
1. Enjoy the pictures (obviously). Take in all the details within each frame. You might be surprised what you missed with only a quick glance.
2. If you are viewing with a child, work on verbal communication by having them narrate the story to you.
3. For a further challenge, write the story (dialogue/action/scene) for a few pages.
4. Play a game. What do you see and what does someone else see? There is an entire world in those pages.
