More media with LGBTQ+ characters! I’m gonna keep doing this until I die. There’s only four in this one because I just want to post this.
- Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Basically this lawyer named Rebecca Bunch is very depressed and working too hard and stuff. One day she runs at her boyfriend, Josh, from when they were 16 and hears that he lives in a small city called West Covina. She is still kind of in love with Josh and needs change so she moves there immediately. Shenanigans ensue. Rebecca is also attracted to women but she only dates men. His boss is a middle-aged bisexual man which isn’t something that you see in TV a lot. Also one of Josh’s friends, White Josh (He looks like Josh but he’s white. And his name is also Josh.) is openly gay. On top of the LGBTQ+ representation, the show is incredibly funny and has realistic postrayal of mental and personality disorders. If you’re not sure if you want to watch it, at least go listen to the song “Gettin’ Bi” that is from this show.
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Sadly this is a pretty expensive game (about 60€ I think) but it is so incredibly good. It doesn’t really have anything to do with the rest of Assassin’s Creed franchise, so you can play this without knowing anything about them. Anyways, you’re a mercenary during The Peloponessian War (ancient Greece). Basically you just go around and help/kill people as you like. You can choose to play with either Kassandra or Alexios, who are both bisexual, and you can romance people regardless of gender. Also, there’s a lot of actual historical characters such as the iconic awful bisexual, Alkibiades. (He did A LOT of shitty things, but he’s cool in this game.) So, y'know, I really recommend this game .
- The Society: Unfortunately this one got only one season and ended on a cliffhanger but it was still a good show, okay? It’s been a while since I watched it si I don’t remember everything, but basically these teens live in a normal small city and one day all of the adults and the kids disappear and they can’t leave. And now they gotta make up a new society basically and figure out how to live. There are at least two gay characters who start dating. Also there’s a deaf chaarcter which is pretty neat.
- Our Flag Means Death: Ok, you’ve probably already heard of this but anyways. It is so great, it has pirates, Taika Waititi looking hot as hell, and of course historically accurate queer representation (including a non-binary pirate). I actually can’t name a single confirmed straight character besides one seagull. There are three couples within the crew, and the non-binary pirate is in one of them, which is refreshing to see. Also none of the characters are homo- or transphobic which just makes me feel really nice. (Except Izzy is kinda homopbic but he’s also really gay.) Also I think you can watch the first episode for free in HBO Max, so I recommend at least watching that (though it gets better and gayer after the third episode.) This is seriously probably the best LGBTQ+ representation I’ve ever seen.
