Sorry about the inactivity lately everyone! I’ve been busy working on my new portfolio website, which has left me little time to draw, so here’s an old Neith sketch for all the Smite fanboys (&girls) out there. Full painting to come!

Sketch for a new logo. Today was a productive day :-)

Over the holidays I did a doodle that turned into more than I expected. With ‘chocolate truffles’ as a start word, I tried out my new gold marker & a bit of fancy lettering and got something kinda neat : the illustration in image 1 - minus photoshop extras. It sparked the idea for an imaginary truffle bakery logo design - finally, something I can put in my portfolio. I love the idea of logo & type design!

Practice makes perfect I guess, so onto the next project! …or maybe even more of this one? I could retouch the logo & add a menu, business card, and/or package design. Good idea? Y/N?

Oh, but first - any suggestions on the color?

Here’s a cute ‘Frozen’ inspired card I put together while pondering the sad absence of cloaks in today’s society. Seriously though, why are cloaks not the go-to fashion choice during this super chilly season? They’re heavy, warm, unisex, cute & a hell of a lot classier than bulky winter coats. They’re practical robes for your average Jane & Joe, not just something made for wizards & witches & whatnot. We really need some fashion forward folk to take up the call of the cloak, and soon, before I freeze my booty off in these flimsy 'winter’ jackets! #CanadianProblems

Here’s a sneak peek at some random sketches for my upcoming game project. I still don’t know what I’m really doing yet, but just working on these designs has really gotten me motivated! I think it’s finally time to make some animations ^__^

It’s almost doooone :O Oh, and FYI, Sai is amaze-balls.

To keep myself motivated during my rut, I’ve decided to start a large project - an awesomely illustrated game! I’ve been doing mostly concept work, as you can see, and trying to decide exactly WHAT kind of a game I want to make. At first I was thinking of doing a funny fantasy card game, but now I’ve decided to try tackling an even MORE CHALLENGING project: a digital game :O I know a bit about coding & I’ve got tutorials out the anus, so I figure if I rotate between concept doodles, coding practice, and coming up with an epic-ass final game idea, at some point things will start falling into place & I’ll be on my way! :D

This weekend my Zelda post managed to hit 7000 notes, so I decided to make something special to commemorate the occasion. Everybody, say hello to aquiveringsmile! This is the lovely lady who helped me finally hit that 7k. Her blog’s display picture was too cute to ignore. I would drink coffee all the time if I had dinos on my cup!! Oh wait, I drink coffee all the time anyway …well, dinos would make the experience a lot more enjoyable! Seriously, I want that cup.

Anyway, I think I may do a few more random bust shots over the next few days. Hopefully then I can set up commissions! :O I really need to make some dolla’ dolla’ bills soon, or I’m going to have to start eating my artwork for nourishment. Yum, paper cuts.

SO, thanks to every one of you that passed around my illustration, even the ones who didn’t source me. Hopefully my next big hit will get me the credit I deserve, but until then, THANKS for the lovings, and remember, keep smiling! :D

Can You Reach The Golden Eggs?

This is an old school piece that I always thought turned out rather well. The medium is a foam paper with a sticky back, cut & molded on illustration board to make an almost 3D, pop-out shape. It was really cool, and I totally advise working with the stuff if you can find it.

I hope this fancy fairy tale piece has kept you entertained, but worry not, I AM actually working on something currently. In fact, you can expect an awesome new illustration some time late Friday / early Saturday, huzzah for new things!! Want to take a stab at it’s contents? Here’s a hint - it’s fanart, and I’ve made it for a special day. So, can you guess what it is? :3

A small update ( hyuck, hyuck, SMALL ) on what I’ve been up to… which isn’t much. Job hunting continues, with little success :( In more exciting news, I hope to start a video game project, huzzah! Above is a possible character for said game. Working on some background scenes right now, so I’ll post those soon. Oh, and if you want to be ambitious and join me on this project PLEASE DO I don’t really wanna go at it alone :’-)

Taking care of business, every daaay!!! …not really, with Pokemon taking up all my time. That changes today though! Today I got the first chapter of my comic thumbed; I plan to post it as a weekly webcomic soon. It’ll be a re-make of an old comic I did for class, “Sidekick Support Group.”  I know this thumbnail probably makes little to no sense to most of you, but it’s still proof that something is on the way!

Maybe I’ll post the old version in the meantime

Poké-Me! Ready for X & Y adventures!!

I got so many bruises hulling that heavy-ass printer home, but I did it! I seriously need to go to the gym …and not the poké kind :( For my first scan, I present to you a sparkly poké-trainer me! I need to tweak the scanner a bit, especially when using these special inks. If I decide to do anything serious with this piece I’ll probably re-scan it after I’ve had some one-on-one time with Charles over here…yes I name all my special objects, shut up, Charles is a handsome devil & his automatic scan tray is HUGE! ;)

So I’m currently debating buying Pokémon X. I don’t own a 3DS, but my boyfriend does, which is practically the same. The thing is if I buy it, I know he’ll get jealous of my rockin’ poké-party and need to buy one too. Then it’s bye-bye 3DS :( Man, why I gotta be so poor? Oh ya, art school <_____< FML

Sitting here wishing I was drawing, but instead I’m finishing my website. I hate having to prioritize :’( Oh well, at least I have Teal'c here to keep me company (he looks like such a regular Joe with hair…lol)

Don’t fret though, artwork is on the way! I’m going to pick up my printer today, then scan like a mad woman!!!
