When Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were filming Cleopatra, Elizabeth actually got pneumonia and had to have a tracheotomy - an operation which caused her to have a scar by her shoulder blade.

In this scene, not only does Dominic West play on the fact that Richard Burton used to memorize his own lines and everybody else’s, but Helena Bonham Carter echos this moment of their past just slightly by touching her shoulder.  (source helenalittlepigcarter)

Husband and I were discussing casting for the next season of The Crown and I mentioned that Dominic West is handsome and Prince Charles is … not, and it blew his mind.

Him: “Dominic West, like McNulty from The Wire?”

Me: “Yes! Maybe his forehead’s a little big, but I’d consider him pretty classically attractive.”

Him: “But I thought that was the joke with McNulty … that he still pulled even though he wasn’t hot.”

(good lord, my husband is terminally straight.)

Fairytales usually end at this point with the simple phrase, ‘They lived happily ever after.’

Favorite Lyrics Chicago Edition

All That Jazz - No, I’m no one’s wife/ But oh, I love my life

Funny Honey - that scummy, crummy/ dummy husband of mine

Cell Block Tango - he ran into my knife/ he ran into my knife 10 times

When You’re Good To Mama - when you’re stroking Mama/ Mama’s stroking you

All I Care About - twisting the wrist/ that’s turning the screw

We Both Reached For The Gun - are you sorry/ are you kidding

Roxie - And that’s cause none of us got enough love in our childhoods

I Can’t Do It Alone - I know, you’re right, the first part’s shit. But the second part—the second part is really nifty!

Mister Cellophane - Unless, of course, that personage should be/ Invisible, inconsequential, me

Razzle Dazzle - Throw ‘em a fake and a finagle/ They’ll never know you’re just a bagel

Class - Now every son of a bitch is a snake in the grass

Nowadays - but nothing… stays

Nowadays/ Hot Honey Rag - Chicago’s own killers, drillers/ Those scintillating sinners

I Move On - I run so fast a shot gun blast/ Can hurt me not one bit

Film Hype #262.

It’s the summer of 1984, Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers is on strike, prompting a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists to raise money to support the strikers’ families.

Initially rebuffed by the Union, the group identifies a tiny mining village in Wales and sets off to make their donation in person.  As the strike drags on, the two groups discover that standing together makes for the strongest union of all.
