A Room in the Glass Globe is a collaborative exhibition by architect Hideyuki Nakayama and Designtide TOKYO for UNION, a manufacturer of door handles and levers. What appears to be a room inside a doorknob is actually the view on the opposite side of the door projected onto the glass sphere of the knob via a camera in the keyhole.

Day 151 of 365 - Glass Door Knob - There was a time, 80 or so years ago when multifaceted glass doorknobs with mirrored star-burst centers were standard issue. Today, they are sought after like diamonds at salvage yards and flea markets. Cast brass, bronze, and iron doorknobs were the standard in Victorian Era homes until WWI when a shortage of metals resulted in the switch to glass.

(linked to “Her Last Heartbeat” at the bottom of the blog)

Cecilia panted as Ashley circled around her.

Her heart was pounding in anxiety; she had no idea what Ashley was going to do to her.

Ashley the grabbed her knife from the shelf behind Cecilia and approached her.

Cecilia was not surprised.

Ashley did not expect her to be, either.

But she did expect her prey to be close to dying of anxiety.

Cecilia tried her very best to hide her emotions from her archenemy.

Cecilia still absolutely despised Ashley.

Ashley had already taken out her heart before in the tournaments and triggered such hate.

As Ashley gradually drew the sharp blade closer to Cecilia’s chest, Cecilia’s heart rate increased within seconds.

“I really enjoyed our time at the tournament, Cecilia,” Ashley began, softly moving the tip of the blade across Cecilia’s pounding chest. “Your heart was so beautiful.”

“Don’t trigger me, Ashley,” Cecilia mumbled as she glared at her nemesis. “I will obliterate you sooner or later.”

“Oh, will you?”

Ashley chuckled as she took the blade off Cecilia.

“Stop…”

Cecilia’s voice and body trembled with anger and fear.

All she wanted to do was punch through that soft flesh of Ashley and squeeze the blood out of her organ right inside of her chest.

But she knew that wasn’t going to be easy.

Especially when her stomach was tightly tied to a chair, barely letting her twist her torso.

Ashley could already see it.

The frightened and frustrated eyes of her delicious prey.

She looked down at Cecilia’s light purple tank top, knowing that the heart was beating frantically beneath that soft skin.

Ashley had no mercy.

She only wished to mock her enemy.

Cecilia let out a short gasp as Ashley rushed her thumb onto her left breast.

Ashley then pushed in as hard as she could on Cecilia’s chest, clearly feeling the organ hammer and grow faster she pushed harder.

“Uggh!!!” Cecilia yelled as she shook and swung her body frantically. “Stop! Get your hands off me!”

Ashley then placed the blade right under Cecilia’s chin and restrained her.

“Your heart’s still very healthy.. Just like when I dug in to grasp it inside of your lovely chest…”

Cecilia could almost remember the agony.

She remembered Ashley’s arm drilling into her thorax; the pain within her flesh and the horrible, suffocating feeling from the inside as Ash clenched her heart tightly.

Cecilia’s heart now beat in utter fury.

“LET ME OUT OF THIS YOU COWARD!” she screamed. “I’M GOING TO RIP YOURS OUT!!”

Ashley chuckled and ducked down to push her ear onto the pounding chest.

Cecilia tried to shake it off, but the rope was too tight.

She breathed fast as her worst enemy listened to the sound of her most important organ beating deep inside.

Ashley closed her eyes and imagined the heart in her head.

After a few moment, Ashley stood up and grabbed the knife again.

“This is going to be new for you, as well.”

“AAHH!!”

The blade dug straight into Cecilia’s upper chest and drew a bloody line as Ashley pulled it down.

Cecilia panted restlessly in extreme pain and agony as the metal blade ripped through her rib cage and flesh.

Her warm and red blood was leaking out of the wound.

“Shh.. I’m not done here.”

Ashley walked to the shelf and grabbed a thinner rope.

She then strolled to the door and tied a knot on the doorknob.

“Remember when you got your tooth pulled out with the swing of a door?” Ashley said, approaching her victim.

Cecilia had never experienced it, but knew what was going to happen.

“Huff… Huff… No…!!”

Cecilia groaned as Ashley stretched her wounded flesh open to expose her living heart.

Ashley constricted Cecilia’s organ with the rope and smiled.

“Funny, I once had this out of you.”

Cecilia looked down, seeing a bloody cavity in her chest and a rope coming out of it.

“Please…!”

The knot tied around Cecilia’s bleeding heart was already soaked red as the the blood leaked out of the veins.

Ashley skipped to the door and gradually pushed it close.

Cecilia screamed and panted in excruciating pain as the rope started to pull out her organ.

“Ugh!!! N-no..!!!”

Cecilia’s chest followed forward as her heart was continuously being yanked out of it.

“Almost there…”

Cecilia gave up.

She could already see a portion of her heart out of her body.

It was beating restlessly.

But it was soon to stop.

Ashley then slammed the door shut, and the rope ripped the organ out hard.

Ashley smirked as Cecilia’s eyes stared in disbelief at her very own vital organ spewing crimson liquid out on the concrete floor.

“That’s it for you,” Ashley stated, picking up Cecilia’s separated heart. “Bye!”

Cecilia let out a final groan as Ash pushed a blade into her left chest, where her heart used to be heard.

These are great vintage Japanese door pulls!! In Japan, sliding doors are very common and these are used in the sliding doors.

They are from the “昭和” “showa period” . The “showa” period is from 1926-1989.

These would be fabulous as frames for your art, a small dish for teeny tiny objects etc.

They measure 8.2 cm .The “hole” measures about 5 cm. You get 2 in this set.
